- SALKANTAY TREK: we walked for 5 DAYS to Machu Picchu through some of the most breathtaking sceneries of the Peruvian Andes mountain range. Watch us climb all the way to the high altitude tundra before descending to the lush rainforest of Perú, home of the lost Incan Citadel of Machu Picchu.
Useful information:
-We did the Salkantay Trek independently, bringing enough food for 4 days. You could also join an organized tour.
-If you do it yourself and want to visit Machu Picchu at the end of the hike, make sure to purchase the entrance to Machu Picchu in advance before the trek, and not when you arrive in Aguas Calientes at the end of day 4.
-The starting point of the trek is at Soraypampa (location: maps.app.goo.g.... To get there, you have to get an excursion bus from Cusco for a day trip to Lake Humantay, but you don't join the ride back.
-Alternatively, you could start in Mollepata which is reachable by public transport from Cusco, but you'd have to walk through some roads for the first day to reach Soraypampa. And you would also miss the magnificent side trip to Lake Humantay.
-There are plenty of water sources during the hike. Be sure to bring water filter.
-If you don't want to camp, it's still possible to do the Salkantay Trek. There are lodges in Soraypampa, Colcapampa, Santa Teresa, and Aguas Calientes for the first until the fourth night.

Bravo, guys! I'll be doing the Salkantay trek soon with an agency. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I hope I can survive! 😅😆
You will make it! Don't worry... 😀😀 especially if most of the lugage is brought by horse/donkey, it will make life much easier. 😀 buy some coca leaves from the market, it helped me a lot to go through the Salkantay trek. 😃
amazing . all the best~
Thank you 😀😀😀
I just recently completed the Salkantay Trail as well, so it's really fun to see from other people's perspectives. What month did you do the trek? We just did it a couple weeks ago, but didn't have any curfew issues. When were you there that they had curfews? Great video! :)
Hi there.. Nice! We hope you had a great time during the trek, and good weather too of course! We did it late April last year, during quite a similar time as you 😀
At that time the pandemic was still quite bad and there was curfew in Peru every Sunday 😅, even the Inca Trail was still closed and Machu Picchu was quite empty 😬
Anyway, thanks for watching Nicki 😁😁
@@Onebackpackeach Oooooh that makes so much sense. I had a feeling it was a bit ago due to the curfew. That would definitely make things more complicated. I'm glad we didn't have to deal with that! haha That said, you were really lucky to see Machu Picchu empty. There were a ton of people when we went!
True... but it waa rainny and cold plus we had to wear the mask, so it was quite annoying and we didnt have good picture cz we wore mask and raincoat all the time 🤣🤣🤣 however, it was really amazing when we saw the cloud cleared up and "showed" us Machupicchu and we got to stay longer without feeling guilty of causing queue...😆😆
@@Onebackpackeach Yeah that would be the best part. We were definitely rushed along to not block the queue! :)
Tambahin translate Indonesia ka biar lebih keren
Siap kak.. sudah dilaksanakan 😀😀 bisa ditonton lagi dengan subtitle indonesia kak 😁😁
Nah gitu dong bru mantep klw ngomong indo bru translate Inggris, kasian org yg gk ngerti soalnya cuma bisa liat pemandangan doang
