BACALAR | Our favorite LAGOON of all time? | The most beautiful lake in MEXICO
DON'T MISS THIS LAGOON!!! Hands down one of our favorite lagoons or lakes with its warm crystal clear fresh water, perfect for a relaxing stop during your adventure in Mexico. Big thanks to our amigo Diego for recommending this place!
Tips:
-For a budget accommodation you can stay at a camping site, which also rents out the tents. We camped at Magic Bacalar - magicbacalar.com - located in the northern part of Bacalar town (maps.app.goo.gl/UHsgLNvxLgBm8o6t8).
-There are many recreational centers or travel agent offering boat trip around the lagoon if you'd like to explore other sites of this big lagoon. There is one close to the town center (maps.app.goo.gl/qbcjKXRnnUfneRrm6).

      Hey there, we drove a car, so it was quite straightforward. I cannot tell for sure if there's any public transport going there from Helsinki, so I guess the best bet would be to rent a car. Kuopio is the closest city from the monastery, you can go there first from Helsinki alternatively

      Hey, this is the location of the bridge and the shelter maps.app.goo.gl/rC8GfJoRARkTtyyh8 You can sleep over there (we did), but beware of the insects, they'll make your night miserable without some nets. I don't think you can pitch a tent there since there's not really enough space. Good luck! 😀👍

    Hello , Thx for your video . Planning for our trip and watching your video. I have question about the last part of your video , been 3 yrs hope you still remember. You were in the Studlagil canyon, how did you get down close to water surface ? I saw some videos people walked up high then climbed down next to slippery rocks with running water next to them, too scary, we don’t want to do that Thanks

    • @Onebackpackeach
      @Onebackpackeach 5 місяців тому

      Hey there. We did have to climb down some path, but nothing too extreme actually. You have to access it from the east side from a small farm called klaustursel, that way you can actually go down to the riverside maps.app.goo.gl/kH6ykqGMx17kKANcA Don't go to the main access parking, because then you can only see the canyon from above (but that was 3 years ago so I don't know for sure if anything changes 😬) Anyway good luck with the trip and wish you a great time there! 😀

      Hello there Gianluca. Thanks for watching and glad it could be of help! We spent 3 days in total. The first day we went to Drangsnes hot pool, valagil waterfall, until Isafjordur. The second day to the latrar air base, dynjandi, and the gardar shipwreck. Last day we continued to latrabjarg and red sand beach. We camped for the 3 days, but sorry I could not recall anymore exactly where we camped. I guess the best way is to google all the available camp sites and see which one is closest at the end of the day. The camp sites usually will always accommodate you 🙂 I hope this helps.
