My first Harley is my carbed 2004 Low Rider w/14K miles. Beautiful ❤! I realize the cam chain tensioners will need to be sorted, but it doesn't matter. My 2nd is a carbed 2005 XL1200C w/35K miles on her, which is at the dealership getting new tires, fork oil and service. Have owned both for only 2 years, but love the way they sound, ride and feel. Not sure I'd ever part with them for something newer...probably my 1st and last bikes, as I'm getting up there in age (60 yrs old) 😂. Seriously, though, if your knees are in the breeze and your riding responsibly, enjoy the experience. 👍
Got my first Harley (2019 Fat Boy) a few years ago; love it. Before that I rode a Honda sport bike. One day on a ride with the sporty I had pulled off the road to make a call to my wife. Within 30 seconds a Harley guy pulled up beside me to see if all was ok. I was very impressed that a Harley guy was checking to see if a Honda guy was ok; blew away so many misconceptions I had of this HD community.
They were a true good person riding a Harley

I know u rite but u know I appreciate anything that’s free but damn they could at least give u something like helmet HD could set a contract up with a good helmet company and give u one are like in store credit are online but they don’t on a vehicle I guess so I guess we should be thankful for a cotton T-shirt made in China like the bikes

I've never had a problem with Harleys. However, some Harley riders seem to have a problem with those that don't ride Harleys.

People go out of their way to dump on Harley-Davidson, yeah some of them have a Honda or a Yamaha go fast bike just so they can say "Mine's faster!" Yeah and it's ugly nobody likes you.

I currently ride a 2005 Honda VTX1800. Picked it up a couple summers ago for $4,000 with only 9,000 miles on it. I love the bike and it gets me out in the wind.
I'll probably pick up a couple other bikes to do a little off-roading or carve the back roads eventually but I'm not doing that with any thought about what some cranky dude on a Harley might think.
Harley's are nice and I could easily afford one but I'd rather spend the money on other things like a better life for my family, vacations, guns, etc.
I also don't drink the Kool-Aid. I don't want to be part of the club. I don't pay extra for brand. That's another reason I don't own a Harley or Apple or a dozen other brands.
I'll let you go back to your world where the products you purchase define you. Enjoy my friend.
We should remember, we still live in a country that allows us to do and think how we like.
I ride Harleys because I absolutely love them. There are some dings against them for sure. But being a PHD Harley-Davidson Mechanic I've seen them but I know how to repair the problem in most cases. The wiring and electronics can be a trick but on a 3 phase electrical system it's usually repairable or upgraded. Time or Money or Both! LOL
@@mcdgtodd facts. The freedom of choice should be just what it is. I love Harley’s and that’s what I’m on but I like other brands as well. I do think it’s not cool to bike shame someone for their choices. If you like it, I like that for you
First Harley was a '79 Ironhead Sportster, current one is a 2008 Softail Custom, set up exactly how I want it. Sure, I've spent loads of time and money on it over the years but it's my pride and joy and I don't care if people love or hate it! 🇬🇧
I shopped a Chieftain against a Street Glide. Was a tough decision but went with a new '23 Chieftain for several reasons, one of which was I didn't think I'd need to change/add/modify as much..., Then ended up changing/adding/modifying- windshield, fork deflectors, engine guards, bag guards, short antenna, back rest, luggage rack, bag liners, and lotsa little stuff too, seems there's plenty to change no matter what you buy lol.
BTW, I always got a brain bucket on as well, been wearing them since I started riding at age 6, 58 now. Don't feel right without one.
I bought a 2020 Chieftain Darkhorse. I swore I'd wouldn't buy add one.Stuck to my guns and the things bone stock.Ive been down that rabbit hole before..But it is fun "customizing " I get that.

Exhausts I can understand. It’s a performance part, stage 1 kit…yes, but it surprises me how many normal stock OEM parts need replacing. Makes me not want to buy a new one.
Motorcycles in general, I've always had to change something about them. The Harley's I have are in the same boat. The difference with Harleys is a larger selection of things to change and with much better quality in parts to choose from.
For my first Harley, and first bike in 30 years, I knew I wasn't spending 25-30K. So I shopped around. There are 9 HD dealerships in a 120 mile radius. So I actually found the bike I wanted with 90% of the changes and parts I wanted. Only 2400 miles.
There are so many benefits to wearing a helmet. Communication being one of them. It is the key to safe riding on the road. Like you mentioned you can communicate with your passenger and other riders on the road. Also, the most important safety factor is protecting your head. Plus during those cold winter days a helmet is great to wear. Thanks for posting!
I'm on my 5th street legal bike and my 2nd Harley. I know the HD Bar and Shield is the most commonly tatoo'd brand logo (according to most artists) but i have ZERO HD ink and don't wear any of their clothing. I have a T shirt from the 50th anniversary in Daytona, it might have a Bar and Shield on it (not sure). Other than that, nothing. Guess im the oddball. I just really don't feel like being "ad space" for any company.
Absolutely love my Harleys, and i whole heartedly support riders of other brands. I cruise with guys on goldwings, triumphs, BMWs. But my bike is a piece of American history and i love it. Heavy, loud, shakes and vibrates, clunky. The bikes our boys in uniform rode in both world wars. The low end torque, the supreme build quality and fit and finish. That bark of the exhaust with every twist of the wrist. Simple and reliable. I have multiple non harley motorcycles, but my harley is apart of me on a whole other level. Long live the USA!

I debadge and modify most of my bikes. I've never had a Harley but I've had plenty of very confused Harley riders looking at my bike trying to figure out whether I was part of the club. 😂
The radiator generally gives it away.
There’s no Harley bikers who are fooled by a knock off. Some of us will marvel over how hard some people will work to make their bike “look like” a Harley, it’s sort of funny to us. There’s always those who go into a sales office to buy a motorcycle and it happens to be a Harley shop where they get a Harley sorta by accident. They’re out there. Most of us though, it’s a culture. We don’t really get fooled and you can count on that.

I would say at least half of Harley riders buy them because of the brand and wanting to join "the Club"... And those guys definitely need a badge to tell what is and isn't a Harley.
I've never tried to make a motorcycle look anything like a Harley. Just like I don't make my PCs and Androids look like Apple products. I don't follow the crowd and I don't drink the Kool-Aid. Just like Apple, I think Harleys are overpriced for what you get.
No shade against Harley. They are getting the most profit possible out of their product. There are even a couple of the newer models that I like, but I can purchase and modify a whole garage full of motorcycles for the price of one.
It's your money, spend on what you want.
@@sociopathmercenary I rode the YamaHoSuKaws for my first 25 years. Then my sister in law met a guy with an old Sportster and an old Dyna he had peached out in his garage. I stood looking at that Dyna in a restaurant parking lot and decided to knock the chip off my shoulder and go look at them. I bought one. The shop didn’t even know how to sell one yet. They were new. I just told them to do it, they couldn’t so I went home (2001) and did it online. Best decision I ever made. I have had about 10 of them since then and still have four of them and severely wish I had kept two of them that I did sell. I still have a Virago from the old days. It’s a nice little ride but, like you said, I grew up. I don’t have to follow the crowd, and I still don’t. I do what suits me in pretty much everything I do. Harleys from the MOCO are a canvas. What the bike will be when it’s “done” is up to the tastes of the rider. The modifications and upgrades are limitless, arguably the single one thing that makes them special. I never have to “debadge” them. They are what they are no matter what I might do. A personalization of the owner’s mind on a canvas from minds that think like mine. I thought i was being unique on my Hondas too… … a seat upgrade was a big deal. On my Harleys, that’s a given. Harley isn’t selling a seat; they’re selling a piece of a soul. It’s up to me to make it “mine”.
Been riding Vrods nearly 20 years and they will still out perform the majority of v-twins on the market. They can be customized as much as or as little as any other bike from bar hopper to road sofa and everything in between. They had a 15 year run and that was a lot better than some models. Crossbones and Rocker for example. I think if the MoCo had used that motor in a factory bagger, it would still be in the lineup. That and the EPA would back off of motorcycles.
My wife and I have Cardo Pack Talk Edge. We love them. We can talk while riding. Listen to music and talk on the phone. No need for an expensive sound system on the bike.
Great video! Harley of Madison is the dealership that helped me and I am a faithful fan of them. i had been interested in Harleys but never made the jump until recently. They guided me through starting my journey late last year, i took my MSF thru them, got my Softtail Street Bob, and have been helping me along the way. I was really drawn to the community, everyone that i have met there, even the people who do not work there have been welcoming and it really is a good community. Now i just need more miles under me and get more comfortable, But that's the journey right? Really appreciate the video, was very thoughtful
I just bought my first Harley in February from Paradise Harley in Tigard. Beautiful 2011 Road King in Sedona Orange. First year of the TC 103 motor, already had a Stage 1 installed by previous owner. Very painless purchase process, very fair negotiation and gave me great trade-in value on my Shadow. One thing I can definitely say, it is absolutely worth it to pay for the ESP Warranty. As much as I love these bikes, you and I both know they are prone to needing little repairs here and there. As I'm still new to bikes, it's really nice to know that I can just bring it in and have them fix it until I know how to wrench it myself.

One thing you did right was buy the best motorcycle Harley has built. The 103 with a stage 1 is perhaps the absolute best they've ever manufactured. Stay out of the dealership with service and repairs. UA-cam channels will show you how to take care of your bike. I have a 2010 Road King with the 96" and love it. You've got a great motorcycle. I'm 66 yrs old and owned 5 Harleys. You can save yourself a lot of money and feel good about yourself by learning how to service and repair your motorcycle. If I can help, let me know. Yessir, Tigard, OR! I started riding last August, so I'm looking forward to my first summer riding the PNW! I've definitely been diving into repair videos trying to teach myself to do the wrenching myself. Luckily I have my warranty for 2 more years, so I have lots of time to learn!

Nice video. I just bought my first HD. A Softail Standard a few months ago. I really like my local dealership too-everyone there is into making riding the brand great. You nailed it on all points.
I had a tour-pak, a 12 inch windshield, heated grips, mid frame air deflectors and saddlebag guards installed on my 2024 Road Glide before I even took delivery. I’m in the market for a seat, (I need more legroom) but I’m waiting to see what shows up eventually in the aftermarket. I’ve got a set of Street Cannon slip ons that I plan to put on when it gets warmer.
I use an older Cardo Freecom+ that works great with the RG infotainment. (I like my tunes through my helmet speakers). And yea.. Got a fair bit of Harley wardrobe 😊
I’ve owned my street glide for about two years now, I’ve done cams, exhaust, intake, lighting, seat, windscreen, bars, and stereo
My friends shouldn’t have believed me when I got it and said it didn’t need much. I’m still looking at suspension, more lights, wheels, and more 😅
While I have been riding since 1977, I bought my 1st HD almost a month ago. A 2007 Dyna with a 120R. I bought it because it IS crazy fast and sounds like it should be at a dragstrip. So far the rest of the HD ownership benefits are yet to happen but that is not why I ride. I doubt any dealer would (or should) touch this bike. I have admired it for over 6 years, helping out at a local independent shop and even having worked on it a little myself. Getting used to the riding position is my only hiccup but getting there. It interestingly makes my sportbikes feel even sportier. Old ladies scowl at me at the redlights. Great fun!
Glad to hear your positive remarks after the purchase of your RG. I agree with you, I am a HD enthusiast since the purchase of my first HD in 1994. A good deal of motorcyclists have a negative opinion of the motorcycle or the people that ride them for one reason or another. I tell everyone that questions me about why I ride a HD, as long as you ride and maintain them as they were engineered to be, you will most likely find them a very reliable and enjoyable motorcycle. As a rider that enjoys touring, I also appreciate the huge network of HD dealers throughout the lower 48, if I was to have an issue.

Did you change your new 24 to the reach seat? If so, do you like it? I did and I like it, but I DO NOT like that huge gap for the backrest. Plan to eventually get that fixed and reupholstered.
I absolutely love owning my Harley. No other bike even comes close. It’s depressing seeing other bikes and especially their dealers.

As a Dirt Bike rider, looking into finally getting uh Harley... I found your Bluetooth comments shocking. We've done that in the off-road community for a long time with CV, and Bluetooth made it capable for us on 2 wheels. 🤘

Cardo? We use Lexin, and found they’re great. Getting a 850lb bagger up to speed? A Freewheeler can get up to speed quickly too for about 1100 lbs.

I bought a 22 street glide with the 107. Had to change the seat immediately. Also changed the windscreen. A little later upgraded the suspension to Wilbers. Now I want intake and exhaust. But it’s actually fine the way it is.
Yes, I agree but when I traded my 2022 Nightster I was told that I would get more Trade value if I put the bike back to stock. Very weird. That being said when I got my 2023 Street Bob I already added many modifications-sissy bar, luggage, Mustang seat, foam Grip Puppies, LED turn signals , crash bar and a LED strip light under the headlight .
As a new rider, KLR 650, I feel motorcycles,,glocks,jeeps,AK47’s, AR15’s….and women all have one thing in common. They are all designed to require additional accessories over time.😂
I just bought my first HD, 24 RG. She’s my 9th bike. Tech and value are important to me. I think the 24 SG/RGs are a huge leap forward for HD and this one is probably my last bike. I am intimidated by the amount of customization that is available but HD riders I speak with are always willing to share. I don’t have any history to prejudge a dealer and I always want to support the local shop so I give them a shot and go in with mindset that they are a partner. I am also happy with them making a fair profit from me. My local business needs to make a profit in order to provide good service so as long as their “service” is good, I will use them. Fingers crossed! FYI, I did not get the ESP and I will keep her HD parts for two years to keep the warranty. Thanks for the vid, Heg!
I live 5 min from the local harley dealer , but i choose corpus christi harley dealer which is 140 away all because of the service and the way they make you feel....

I'm an older rider coming back to biking. I think I'm immune to the Harley Product Syndrome. My Sportster is stock except for mirror extensions and a short cissy bar.
I'll save my money for essential repair or service parts.
Badged clothing etc is expensive and pointless. I bought a used thick leather jacket for protection, a pair of good leather gloves, a pair of solid leather boots to protect my ankles and shins and a new full face helmet.

I love them, I've always loved them. My cousin had a 1976 bicentennial and it was beautiful. I hung out with bikers growing up and always wished I could own a Harley. I was finally able to get one when I was 54 and could barley afford my 2004 Road King classic. I bought a low mileage bike for about $8500 and rapidly found some issues, and had some breakdowns. Since I bought it I've put 3x what I paid into it, mostly in labor. I've had a dozen or so back surgeries and it took that much time to recover and move onto a Harley. I've done bars and controls, and suspension. Everything else I would have wanted was already done. I've added bits and bobs here and there. I have the best looking 04 RKC that I've seen, I have one issue still and it is paint and I need to get the new front suspension softened. I need to make an adjustment to the rears as well, but Legend ARC fully adjustable isn't a problem. I love my old mechanical bike and yes it forces me to wear a helmet for tunes, but that's fine. I'm full in the Harley lifestyle, I just can't afford or am physically able to do long trips. My local HOG club is fantastic, the people are nice and smart and a lot of good connections.
I added pipes, intake, tune, road warrior fairing, saddleman seat, OG garage floor boards- did it in the 1st 6 months of my 23’ Indian Chief Bobber- also upgraded my helmet to a Shoei modular

The thought of swapping out my 124 2023 (I own that bike right out so no loan) for a 2024 crossed my mind just bc of those updated liquid heads .. but I knew the plan would be slip ons, cam, Harley tune .. call it a day. Simple “build”.. oh wait .. forgot I need heated grips bc I ride year round. Oh wait .. gonna need a new windshield. Depending on color I’d need a new pizza box. Sooooo all that would add up. I’ll keep the 2023 and figure out the cooling.
Gonna do some T bars bc I starting to dislike my 10” z bar kinda thing in there

Cardo.... Must have. Wherever my helmet goes, or whichever bike I'm riding, my comms & tunes come with me. I rarely use the HD audio stuff. Just leave it on the nav screen.
I agree with that customer service bit. Always had a good time with Orlando Harley but I recently moved to Alabama. My local HD in Montgomery is great but the one up in Huntsville wanted to pull credit before even showing me numbers!
Glad I ran into the guys at Montgomery to reinforce how an HD dealer is supposed to be.
I stepped into the touring bike world a few years ago. I got base E-Glide Standard. Add stuff as I decide whether or not I want it. First thing I did was fit the bike to me, and upgraded the suspension.
I still haven't installed a radio. Don't know that I ever will.

MY Harley came from Harley at the beach in north myrtle, SC. I wouldn't let them do an oil change. They refuse to do any type of warranty work. My bike is a 2023 Tri-Glide.
42 bikes which 14 were Harleys and yes I have a Motorcycle addiction. 2 HD"s and 2 GW's presently. My share of good dealerships and so so ones . Thanks for sharing
My FIRST New Harley 2023 FXST and she is going in for the 5th time with MINOR issues that the warranty will cover. one was a bad issue and I have a complete new transmission, now. It is very important to have that warranty and an extended is a good Idea, too. I have had many brands in 55+ years including 3 older Harleys and never used a warranty. My New Harley has 790 miles. As far as wearing riding gear I use full Dainese leathers. with a Valentino Rossi # 46 helmet... I use this on my other Bike a sport naked Bike. My dealer in Minnesota, Twin Cities Harley has been great with helping me get the issues taken care of and after many other Harley dealer in the area Twin Cities were the best. Ask for Diego in sales...good people.
I've only ever dealt with the service department at Black Jack, but they did me right. Helped me out working me in late one day after I blew out a rear tire. I'm local to them but Thunder Tower in Columbia is barely farther. I had a sales guy treat me a little iffy there, but the staff overall was good. The experiences in the dealers overall vary a lot.
Are you using a non-HD with the Skyline OS? The Cardo Mesh does not work with the Sena mesh which is a huge problem communicating with my riding buddies. We all had invested in HD branded Sena. I agree that communication through helmet makes group riding much safer.😊
what is a reach seat. I do have short stumps Ha Ha, and my 870lb street Glide gets tricky maneuvering over gravel especially pushing through it. Thank
I have a '23 sport naked bike and I love it but 8 mo and 2000+ miles in am looking at a cruiser style bike. I'm genuinely curious about the differences in the two ride styles. Been looking at a Honda Rebel 1100. Aslo, I have a Cardo Pack Talk Edge and I love it. Started off with a Syphon Sound BT set up but the audio quality wasn't great even tho it uses the same 40mm JBL speakers as Cardo. Used my SS set up for about 2 months and then finally broke down got the Cardo system right afer Halloween. Won't use any other in-helmet sound system. Best thing, one device can be used with as many helmets as you own or want to buy, all you have to do is buy the proper cradle for your device and helmet.
I have a 15 Road glide special and i have been slowly building and changing it since i first bought it. I’m looking into getting another one but torn between the limited and the street glide.

I live in the same area as you I absolutely hate the black jack store as far as buying a motorcycle they are way to high pressure and mark up the prices mbhd is great for sales but the service department could be better it seems like they have a lot of turnover
BJ doesn't list any prices online or in the showroom, that is a huge no go for me. Both Myrtle locations are always laid back and easy to talk to.
What speakers would you recommend for a Street Glide?
Things I found out was there is no limit on the traditional HD models for accessories to make your bike individual.
The aftersales is in the main beyond other brands.
The clothing is amazing 🤩
The dealers in the U.K. make you feel like family.
The HOG and online community is also brilliant.
The main thing is once you invest in the brand you’re hooked for life.
When buying my first Harley I realized that there was a huge aftermarket with the most desirable one was a $3000 stroker kit. I also came to the realization that Harley's were made like a brick hockey house. I bought a Harley Davidson riding jacket which was made in Taiwan but was well made. I modified my Sportster. On my heritage Softail classic I removed the jumper wire that turns the headlight on when the engine was running. I did wish that the engine had rubber isolation mounts as the engine was hard mounted to the frame and my hands would numb out. Other than that I left it stock because I finally arrived. Later on I did want a tour guide because of the wind and weather protection of the fairings. Click was one cool friendly guy.
I tried a reach seat on my Street Glide. It lasted through one ride before I took it off and returned it to Harley. I found it to be really rough on "the boys" and I didn't like the rider geometry that came with straddling my gas tank.
For your list of great dealerships, shout out to Tallahassee Harley-Davidson. Low key sales folks, incredible service department. Not a big place but you won't find a nicer or more helpful group.
It's hard to hear a stock radio because you have a full face helmet, hell I can't hear mine with a three quarter helmet, that's why I wear a half! or none at all!
Yeah my local in SC aint the greatest but I do show them some support every now and then. Bought my ultra at a shop down the road though. I have been to some great ones though that I frequent when in the area.
Another thing I wish I knew was how much they charge for that first 500 mile service and inspection. I ride a lot so I only owned my CVO for about 8 days before bringing it in for that first service. So add several hundred 💵 to your sales price shortly after purchase.
I bought my first Harley in 1977, it was a pre 1978 low rider. I was in the army and living in Louisiana at the time, my kawasaki 900 z1 was in Tacoma Washington so I made my deal over the phone with the dealer in Tacoma. I was driving a 1974 Triumph TR6 convertible that I sold to a lady over the phone in Tacoma. I drove the TR6 to Tacoma, delivered the car, accepted the payment and picked up my Kawasaki from my friends garage where it was stored. Went to the Harley dealer the next day, finished the deal, had them remove the drag handlebars and put on 6 bends and a short sissybar and rode it to my house. I broke it in in 3 days, packed up and headed back to Louisiana. Dealer experience: Tacoma was great back then and did everything on the spot I needed to get on the road. Traveling south on Interstate 5 I developed an oil leak in Southern Oregon. I found a very small dealership and took the bike there. He refused to honor the warranty and I had to pay for the repairs. He said I didn't buy the bike from him, fortunately the repairs were pretty cheap a new hose and a small radiator hose clamp. When I got down into California, Sacramento I think, I needed an oil change and service. I called ahead and told them I was traveling. They said bring it right in.
This dealer was beyond great, they pushed me to the very front of the line, preformed the needed services and got me back on the road in about 2 hours. The rest of the trip was uneventful, I stopped at the Harley dealership in Houston, Texas, bought a Harley patch and they were interested in my trip so had some good conversation then the next day made it home to my place in Louisiana. Long time ago now and things have changed. I've put many miles on my bikes, I rode that Kawasaki on a 9200 mile trip in 1974, I took my Harley to Louisiana, Florida, Texas, and Mississippi. Sold my Harley 11 years ago, built a few bikes for friends, and rented one from a place in Seattle last year. I've been looking at a new Road Glide and will probably purchase one very soon.
Hey, just want to say thank you for the video quite formative. I’m not a true motorcycle Harley Davidson rider I grew up in the motorcycle I grew up in the world of riding bikes, ride motorcycles before I could walk the trail dirtbike rider-the growing up with Evel Knievel mentality if it was a bike, I can ride it. Now I’m a lot older. I’ve retired, I want Harley Davidson. Then I grew up haven’t had a bike in 40 years. I’ve retired love to have a Harley to ride around cruises occasionally mostly I like it ride for the military support I served active. I lost some people I love to ride kinda but I’m older and I want to ride for specially the Causes military service, well you know the rats sport they back the blues help the children for them. They would have nothing all those things are wonderful. I see very important communities into the outreach.
So thank you for your video. Hope you can give more information because I would like to have a bite without going through all the extra stuff that I need. I’m on retirement now wanna bike that I can ride and enjoy was that putting out another fat grand

There are plenty of parts for indians. They are just not needed as much since the stock parts are superior to most H-D counterparts. I have both H-D and Indian in the garage so not a H-D hater.
As somebody with A road glide i love the challenger. It really is the superior bike in all regards except maybe the stereo in my opinion. Only reason I didn't buy one is the lack of dealers in my area. Closest one is 1 hour away when there are 2 harley dealers within 20 minutes of me
When it comes to clothing, I own a hat and some t shirts and that's it lol. My policy on the t shirts is if I am in a state that I do not own a t shirt from, I will buy one, however I added a little stipulation to this. I will only buy a shirt IF I rode my bike into the parking lot. So far I have NH, MA, VT, ME, NY, PA, NC, SC, GA. I still have not stopped in RI, DC, CT or VA though I've ridden through. Kind of makes it a fun thing where each shirt has a little story. I do have two exception shirts, one is from Laidlaw Harley that was sent to me in Afghanistan back in 2010. The other a friend bought me as a gift when he visited Thailand.
I wear a full face helmet alot of times. They are great for keeping bugs and road debris off of your face. Theyre great when its cold too as you mentioned. I just feel more confident with it on. I own a victory and a bmw. I may add a harley to the collection though.
I don't know how many people have thought of this but those bungking straight pipe engine guards are extremely dangerous. If you get in a tumbling situation with your 900lbs motorcycle you can easily be impaled with those guards vs the more traditional mustache style guards. I don't want any poky things sticking out on my bike.

I got my first bike in '71 and the salesman asked if I wanted a helmet and I said sure. I got a Bell and wore it all the time. If it was good for Evel Knievel it was good enough for me. Besides I really don't care what anyone else thinks. Ride your own ride. I've seen local Angels (NorCal)wearing full face helmets lots of times

I was told by my friend that owns a few , oil changes and all maint .must be done at dealer or warranty is void. Can anyone confirm this, you really can't do your own oil changes?

Spend money on rear suspension first
Spent mine on front and rear Legend Suspension, and shitcanned the rear fork rubber mounts in exchange for the Mad Monkey CNC'd rear fork inserts. Me I don't trust all that rubber in a suspension. After owning an FXR for about the front mount was always replacing it every year.
I bought my SGS because I liked the look and the torque. Coming from a Yamaha sport bike it was a completely different experience. After a few breakdowns and tows were fixed, my ownership experience has been amazing. The dealer I use is awesome and other HD riders mostly friendly. I did not buy the bike for the "community" experience., I'm a lone rider, I very rarely go on group rides, I don't buy any "merch" or fanboi gear. Love the bike, the brand but the communitiy, not my cup of tea,.
Only thing im gonna change on my new cvo is the seat but thats because im 6ft9

I bought a cheap Harley jacket online that turned out to be a total knockoff piece of crap . Then I went to the dealer and bought a $400 Harley jacket .So much better quality and rider friendly.
To be honest I disagree with some of that. The motorcycle community as a whole are great not just Harley Davidson. I do like the brand and I have a 2019 ultra limited and other brands.

I always where a helmet now because i had a accident back in 2021 and i wasn't whereing mine, now I have trouble remembering people's names a hard way to learn that lesson
I'm about to trade my vulcan 1500 classic in for a 2014 ultra limited, test drove it and absolutely fell in love with the ride quality and how smooth it is. Course I'm on the shorter side, so gonna get some lowering blocks, along with some boots that'll give me an extra 3 inches of lift.
Change out the seat first!!
@roycarlson6783 I was thinking about that, but I also don't wanna lose the comfort that the seat that's on it now has. I also looked up a bunch of reviews on the blocks I'm looking at getting, and all of them were positive. The bike I'm getting doesn't have stretched bags, so wouldn't have to worry about anything touching the ground when I turned. If I do decide to change out seats, it'd be later, so the blocks would just be a temporary fix.
If changing rear shocks look up super shox...have them on my limited lowers bike an inch in rear and keeps 4 in of travel..awesome ride...owner Brian will set you up right!!
@roycarlson6783 I'll definitely have to look those up, plan on getting shorter shocks, just using the lowering blocks until I can get the money to purchase the shocks.

I love Harleys, but they're not quick out of the box, and to pay $30k for a new bike and then have to pay near $800- $1500 for a stage one upgrade just so your new bike can breath and run properly just seemed ridiculous to me. I also felt their one year warranty sucked ( for us in the northeast it's really only about six months due to winter) and let's face it their dependability is often in question. JMHO
If you haven’t taken a test ride on a Harley I suggest you don’t. Me & Betty (2019 RG) have ridden thru the mountains of Colorado, up the PCH, Death Valley, Blue Ridge Parkway, Saint Augustine, Panama City, Cool Springs, Key West FL. she is stock with a tour pack. Harley Davidson can be ridden anywhere you want to ride them right off the showroom floor it’s one’s ego that requires the extra.
Boswell HD in TN has excellent pricing once a if your interested, when the new years bikes are hitting the showroom they prices the previous year model to move, this year I went to the launch event in Cookeville TN, 2023 Special (RG & SG) 23K, SG Standard $19,999.00.. they have done this every year that I’ve been affiliated with the dealership.

I moved from FLORIDA to NC ...Some Great weather new tires ,Bearings and Brake pads... went for a ride... a mile down the road I remembered I DIDN'T HAVE MY HELMET ON 😂😂😂 NC Dont play... oops ... didnt get caught though... Florida temps I never wore a helmet unless I was making a vlog
