A lot of people give her shit for her vocal style, but I think the rawness is really powerful.
Goddamn mainstreamers.
A lot of people have nothing better to do than declare what they don't like.
Ashley Dufault agreed.
at least she sounds real and not some plastic, auto-tuned corporate puppet! I really love her!
What!? Her voice is beautiful and unique, I don't understand why anyone would not like her because of it. Amanda is truly amazing!
The older I get, the older I understand her songs.... Amanda I hope you find yourself
I needed this song when I broke up with my emotionally manipulative ex boyfriend a year ago and today after I finally blocked him, I needed it again. I am simply giving up on you. That line just sums it all up. I'm tired of it, I'm giving up.
I love you Amanda
Am I the only one who likes the picture of Amanda? The style is amazing and fits in well with the song!
It reminds me of the cover for Jane Doe by Convergence
+NightSkyArchitect Same!
Oh,weird...I thought you meant the cover for a film called Jane Doe.
Her music lets me feel like i'm turned inside out. I never cried that much because of only artist.
I love the way the Amanda image gets closer and more in your face as the song progresses.
A truly beautiful song that hit a few nerves. Most, if not all the lyrics, have really applied to what I have been going through with a lover very recently. Discovering Amanda Palmer and her music (all of it) was one of the most magical things to ever happen to me. Music is meant to be listened to. There are many reasons behind why every song is made. This song in particular will have a special place in my life.
Wow, it's so simply put, but so heavy at the same time. Anyone who's ever been in a relationship like this felt some heartstrings tug.
I fucking love this song
Her music lets me feel like i'm turned inside out. I never crued that much because of only one artist. And amadas work really is art. I love her voice. I love how she puts feelings into everything, so every track is a bit of herselfe. You can feel her. I like that.
I still haven't figured out yet, who the fuck killed Amanda Palmer
I heard it was a secret branch of the illuminati who specifically target people with experimental eyebrows.
+Jason Taggart It was that backwards talking guy from twin peaks...
+Jason Taggart Sister selves. They're all sister selves.
That solo at 3:21 is probably my favorite moment in the whole album.
This song brings up feelings that I never wanted to feel before. I feel like this is how it would be if I dated this person I've been liking for years. :s
This song is intensely Depeche Mode.
And a bit of The Cure too (make me think of The Figurehead...)
Julien Destange Seriously, though. Sing "Enjoy the Silence" and tell me it's not almost spot on. haha
Not. Even.
Thankfully!
@@JulienDestange I think very specifically there's a nod to “Disintegration” (the track) in that little synth that is barely audible at the beginning and just slowly grows in volume until it's clear by the end. They both do this very very specific thing in a clear way. The “Disintegration” album was mentioned by her as an influence, too.
First listened to this on a long coach journey, great opportunity to devour the whole album in peace. Amusing that this song nearly made me cry :p Always been a fan, but the variance of tone and mood in this album is great!
That's one of the greatests songs ever.
exfemale.
Thank you for saying what I was thinking.... This is such an amazing woman its no wonder some people are jealous....
Category is: The Cure realness. Taking it to a whole new epic level!
The gated synth in the background that only becomes audible as the song progresses is a very specific reference to the production of the song “Disintegration” by The Cure.
thank you so much for playing this song last night!
✌☮》 I like her voice, and she has my admiration to be what she is in this society with so much hate in this world .Great song !!
Amanda is pure genius
This is so good can't stop playing.
new to amanda's music and loving it.
1:20 over and over again.
Bohyně!
Great song. Fantastic album.
Sooooooo good! Damn it Amanda you rock!
one of the best cuts on the album...
Favorite new song from Theater is Evil.
Yeah, we love it because the lyrics speak to us too, but more than that, it's that AFP is such an awesome person in all of her being, and her music gives that awesomeness to all of us. The sound of it fits and is so out of the norm, it is all hers. Give her other songs a try.
I cant like this ENOUGH!!
depeche mode !!!!!!!!! GENIAL
I love you amanda, dont change who you are. And I support you fully :)
i love this! god she's awesome! lyrics beautiful! :)oooh Amanda so beautiful!
another perfect song, oh gash, that's why we love you so much...
This song speaks to many situations, most specifically of an adult who needs to just grow up and be an adult instead of whining and driving everyone down with him. But at the same time it reminds me that there are things that even adults cry about, and often what makes us sad and what makes us cry are not the same things.
musisKat yes....I agree....she captures all of that, it's almost cruel and beautiful at the same time.
Reminds me of some Depeche Mode songs ...really great :)
I love her so much.
Pretty new to Amanda's music, pretty new to the genre actually, just love this track, in my humble opinion has that eighties feel,
I love her.
that song is a slap right in my face, hahaha, omg!
This album is blowing me away!
Gods, I fucking love you.
How much I wish I could link this song to so many people in my past... *sigh*
More songs like this please?
I REALLY don't ever want to be that guy.
I love how abrupt the end is.
I concur
I still feel like this song came f4om the '90's. But the '90's were awesome so that's okay.
I recall the 90's being meh, then again i was raised in the 80's which was best generation ever.
Every classic franchise came out of the 80's....to be ruined by the kid's of the 90's growing up to become the SJW shills of studios who have zero imagination to sink or swim on anything new and interesting.
At first I didn't like this song because I didn't think it was very musical, but I like the lyrics and I've gotten used to the song as a whole.
Fucking beautiful, mesmerising song.
This song gives me all of the feels. i hate how men are not allowed to have feelings , but at the same time i know how it feels when women act like this. i should lay off the gender politics and enjoy the music -.-
Does anyone have the guitar solo tabs for this song?
I love this fucking woman..
I saw lyrics of hers on instagram and I was excited. I was like "this is exactly how i feel!" But once i listen to this, i kust be deaf or something. All you guys are saying its so good, but i cant understand it very much. Maybe i just have to get use to this type of music?
Four people must've been born with damaged ear drums than the other 404 of us.
@3:45
is my rl right now
obviously "those people" dont recognize real talent !!! maybe we should pray for them?
This song is definitely about my ex. Lol
+Maddy M (PizzaKitteh)
Wow, you and Amanda Palmer dated the same loser?! Amazing!
Very Disintegration-era Cure.
:')
I think the lyrics are good, but the music is pretty meh. I don't like the collaboration with Grand Theft Orchestra as much as just Amanda and her piano and maybe a few strings.
