What's the requirement/guideline to follow about which rebar should be at the bottom? In this video the bottom rebars are along the long direction. Thanks in advance for the reply.
@@gnidnoeled786 Longer bars are kept in lower tier, while shorter bars are kept in upper tier. You can refer SP34:1987 for more details
@@visualcivil Is it because My-y is bigger than Mx-x thus rebars along long dimension are at the bottom?
@@gnidnoeled786 Along the long direction of footing slab the cantilever portion of the slab from the column is more than that of short side. The behaviour and reinforcement is similar to cantilever slab. with only difference is that in footing slab the tension is at bottom
