    I think the reason shaking the tank creates a stronger flame is that the liquid propane inside the tank is splashed to the hotter parts of the tank that are dry inside. It may seem cold to us, but its enough to boil the liquid propane and create more gaseous propane. That was really nice of you to take care of you wife the way you said. You're good man. God bless.

    Awesome little heater!!!! I usually just put the tank in a bucket of warm water it’s warms up the tank just enough to stop that! I know people are going to say that is dangerous because it will raise the tanks pressure but believe me I’ve been doing it for 20 years no problem it happens a lot on the construction site in the winter. Cheers brother

    I had to choke my small tank flow down once the heater is started, and I don’t turn it all the way up due to the amount of fuel these things use which in the book states around 3.7 gallons or pounds per hour at 80,000 BTU. I use a small tank do to make the heater more portable and more useful anywhere I need the heater. Recommended tank size for use with this heater is a 100 lb. tank.

    I notice the same thing with a propane tank using large amounts. My heater would do your shop to 80 f in 10 minutes :) 215,000 btu. I run diesel in my kerosene heater and the spell is almost not noticeable , then when it's hot I switch to electric.

    • @GHOSTMAATVs
      @GHOSTMAATVs  6 років тому

      +STEVE ROB REVIEWS ya, I have 4 tanks I'll most likely have to rotate between them. I was looking at those types, but so expensive!

    The reason your propane is frosting over is because you are lowering the pressure by using your heater. This causes the propane to boil off vapors that your heater is using. When the pressure drops and the propane boils in the tank it gets very cold and frost up. The best thing you can do it keep it inside where it is warm and that will help the pressure stay higher and thus make it work better.

    • @GHOSTMAATVs
      @GHOSTMAATVs  6 років тому +2

      +Camz316 thanks for the advice. The tank was inside the garage, but I have no way nor would I want the tank to be in any area of the house. Another suggestion was to partially submerge the tank in a tub of water. I may give that a try at some point

    • @Camz316
      @Camz316 6 років тому

      Ghostma Vlogs submerging it in water would certainly increase the temperature and pressure. That’s a great idea.

      I have the same issue (tank chilling down and losing pressure) with a propane torpedo heater which causes the safety on the heater to trip and shut it off (thinking it is out of fuel). I usually move the tank so the edge of the tank is in the warm air stream a few feet in front of the heater. The tank still gets cold but not cold enough to lose too much pressure. Unfortunately, there's no easy solution like that for a convection heater.

    I BELIVE your heater doesn't need a regulater all that I have used have an internal regulater check your owners manual ?

    your tank is freezing up meaning the liquid propane inside is to cold to turn to a gas the simple reason for this is when releasing allot of gas for a long time the temp. of the LP drops. AS the liquid changes to gas it cools the faster it is consumed the colder it gets eventualy it gets so cold it no lounger turn to gas this can happen in july if you release allot of gas long enough
    1. Dont run on high for so long
    2. move propane closer to heater ( NOT danger close) how far is a judgement call it should be warm not hot
    3. you could also put the tank in a large bucket of warm water but eventually it will freez the water touching the tank so you have to keep refreshing with warm water

    Put that tank on its side. Problem solved. FYI small tank vs big tank doesn’t mean anything just that it will run out of fuel quicker.

    I thought my regulator won't work for my tank and ended up ordering a new regulator. Gonna have to take out the original one and try it.

    • @GHOSTMAATVs
      @GHOSTMAATVs  6 років тому

      Lol, ya it's inside left hand thread. All the 20lb and 30lb tanks have an inside thread, thats how they fill them at the depot. I bought a 100lb tank to alleviate my freezing issues, and it only has inside thread. Hopefully you are able to take the new regulator back.

    Most heaters that size that have that kind of put out run off of a minimum hundred pound tank

    Should run 100 lb tank

  • @austinross7487
    @austinross7487 6 років тому +2

    No you don’t need to get a 100 pound tank the reason it’s freezing is cause the tanks to small but a 100 pound tank is over kill for such a small heater personally a 20 pounder is good enough that’s what they call for unless you want a bigger one but the tank freezes because the tanks too small and you’re pulling a lot of liquid petroleum gas out of that tank fast! Just get a 20 or 30 pounder and she’ll run like a champ!

    • @GHOSTMAATVs
      @GHOSTMAATVs  6 років тому

      +Austin Ross a 20 lb tank is what's being used in this video. My solution for now is to rotate tanks, seems to be working so far
