    A friend and I took an unused sauna heater from my moms house and put it in his garage. Put a box fan on it like you have done and that thing melted the snow a good 9 feet all the way around the garage generally if you were in working you would have to open up the overhead door and cool it down a bit. It was electric. I hope you have some carbon monoxide detectors…!

    I have the 20,000 BTU one in my shed. The only downside is they do burn quite a bit of propane so they are pretty expensive to run but you can’t beat the amount of heat that comes off of them is quite nice.

      Might have to alter the balance of the vents. Could be able to get some vents that can be closed automatically if it’s too hot or cold in a room.

      After 6 winters w/o a heater in my 20' x 20' garage that would get below freezing, I purchased the 30k heater with the optional blower and hooked up to the natural gas line. Although we have not yet had below freezing temperatures it is keeping the space at 55-60 on the lowest setting. So far I have been satisfied with it.

      I bought one a couple years ago with the intention of trying to use it off of 20 pound tank. Despite it saying 100 pound tank required. it wouldn’t stay running for long. It would draw too much and freeze up the propane tank, and the safeties would shut the flame right off.

      Hi Dean: my heaters are Mr Heater brand. I use Mr. Heater F273071 5 ft. Propane Hose that is made to hook up to a 20lb propane cylinder and never had any problems. if your hose is freezing up its probably passing to much propane.

      1 gallon of propane is worth roughly 90k btus and the heater puts out 30k btu per hour. 1 gallon of propane weighs around 4.2 pounds, so that 20 pound tank has roughly 4.7 gallons so you should get a little over 14 hours from that size tank.

      Thank you for sharing. So basicly because the dynaglo has a thermostat it actually will run longer when you adjust it.. So basicly a week and a half could be the max. Also you have it on a 20gal its not what is recomended in the box. Thank you for showing me it works great! I was gling to do this.

      @@HughMyronM8 okay great, so just found out, they charge $100 if you let it run out. Last question, why is that? And they also found a small leak at the top of the tank when they filled it 100 gallons ($500) and they told her she could still use heat and they would be back after the 1st of the year to swap tanks. Do you agree with them to use it and I havnt hooked up the 2nd heater due to that. Just was nervous until they swapped tanks. What do you think and thanks for the help!

    • @HughMyronM8
      @HughMyronM8 7 місяців тому

      @@R.A.H225 Not 100% sure but I think they charge $100 when it's totally empty because they are required to perform a leak test on it. When tanks get empty, it can lead to moisture and rust in the tank. If they are telling you it is safe to use, I would assume it's true. They wouldn't want to be liable for recommending something dangerous.

      @@joshtheracistrvnerdDeadly? Hmmm I was raised in a home that used the old school type of heaters. If you research these newer blue flame types you would know that the blue flame means it burns most of the gases meaning less possibly harmful gas released. But even for the ones deadly I wouldn’t quite call it that. As I said I have decades where every year we had a yellow to blue flame heater & everyone in my home lived, no one died! Besides those gases would rise to the ceiling & leave through the vents, so it’s not like it’s burning a pile of leaves in the house.
