Each of the engines bogies are connected to the power source and both engines are powered up.
Back one is linked to the front engine and is remotely controlled from the front engine.
Drive wheels are the reaction. Motors. That locomotives are Gensets

That makes for a long day for. Purina in Flagstaff took forever to get loaded or unloaded. It didn’t seem to matter. 😂😂
Yup…we don’t like waiting for live loads and unloads!!! At least not for too long. Luckily most Crete customers are pretty quick about it and Kevin takes a nap. 😉
@@TheJoyofTrucking yeah that was always my plan. A funny thing happened though. I learned afterwards to lick my driver door. I had an older Volvo and it was virtually identical to another truck at the same place. I’m in the sleeper and suddenly my door opens up, some poor fella climbed in, looked around and oh Schlitz!! Realized he was in the wrong truck. I’d have been mad if I think it was funny. We talked about it later on. And laughed about it. Moral of the story, lock your door if you’re going to take a nap.🤣🤣

Love your videos! I'm curious what wattage the inverters are in those trucks? Just curious because I see tvs and cooking equipment in in random videos.
Happy to hear that you enjoy our videos!! This Freightliner has a 1200 watt inverter. Our Kenworth at Werner had 1800 watt. There are more powerful ones available. But these are the ones these companies have chosen. 1200 is too low in our opinion. We had to buy a new water kettle and now the smallest air fryer out there.

Kevin is a great driver. I use to watch trucker's come into where I worked and majority of them couldn't back in worth a crap. One guy while backing in to the dock stood on his step and then fell off. One guy years ago hit the dock so hard, one guy i worked with in the yard said the engine was running backwards and caused oil from the engine to shoot out causing the cab to catch on fire. Pretty soon the trailer caught fire and the fire department had me poke holes into the trailer and rip the sides out to put the fire while it was still parked at the dock. They were mostly concerned about the fuel tank under the trailer. It was a total loss. It even burnt the material on outside the building.

Interesting seeing how other industries operate enjoyed these two vids a nice change from Walmart DC etc,always difficult keeping track of working forklifts they move around so damn fast
the gentleman riding the last car of the train is the conductor (boss of the train ) he is on a radio with the engineer (train driver) who is in a control booth somewhere on the grounds operating the train........conductor gives him instructions on how far to back up......

That's a great idea hiring Kevin to design the dock and drive through etc! But when you tell the higher-ups their like no we'll higher a college kid with no experience because he read the book that tells him how it should be done!! I could go on but I think there's a lot of people who know what I'm talking about!!

Being a truck driver and train enthusiast,this had to be my most favorite video I’ve seen from your channel. Am curious how much of your On Duty time was eaten up with your entire visit, from the trip around the block, finding the correct location and then waiting to get unloaded.

How much experience do I need to apply for Crete?
Hi there! With 6 months they’d take you but still send you out with a trainer. At 10 months, with the right experience, no trainer required. You can call them at the number in the pinned comment and see if you are eligible. Good luck!

In a nutshell, those wheels or "axles" on the locomotives have traction motors, in this case, 4, with gears on the side that attach to those TMs. They're electrically powered by the giant diesel engine that turns a large generator and creates electricity. Been like this since the 1950s! And yes, these are Remote Control but they are not controlled from his phone lol they wear a large RC chestpack in which he controls the movement from the rear of the train as he's standing on cars.

Does software / manifest update future deliveries with street name entrance, directions for other Crete drivers on the pre-plan? Just asking, not a CDL driver.
@@rhett5914 Don’t think so. Not automatically. There’s a place a driver can submit information on company directions. Some do, but probably most drivers don’t bother as it’s more unpaid time.
