@@floridabeardedwoodworker We’ll get the details or you can also call Cassidy for details. Kevin went in with a year. But you can come with less. We had one viewer tell us he came with 6 months but then did have to go out with a trainer. Kevin didn’t have to have a trainer. Just the camera for 60 days.
You done a good job Kevin figuring all that out with your next load . That is the difference hauling heavy equipment, it didn’t make any difference what time you loaded, the only thin you had to figure out was where and when you could stop at sunset. But after a couple of years hauling heavy equipment you new the system because a lot of the time you went to the same places all the time .
I worked for JB HUNT at a Wal mart account in New York for five years, whenever driver appreciation week came around, every Walmart I delivered to would give me goody bags and that could have been up to six Walmart's a day, that was fun
That oversized load was a 'Fabricated Plate I-Beam'. I used to design them for the utility industry to hang boilers from. That one was apparently small enough to fabricate off-site and be delivered. We usually just fabricated them on site. Be safe out there. Great videos ✌️

Thank you so much!!! Glad you are enjoying them!! Honored to have you watch us when you have way more experience!!! And appreciate all your input and information!! We love learning from your experience with Crete!!
You two are a terrific pair and I enjoy your videos. I’ve been driving for almost 45 years and the only free samples I’ve ever received were bird Pooh and 65 mph bug carcasses on the windshield. Your McCormick goodie bags were so much better.
They put me in a Brand new Cascadia that had the automatic fifth wheel release a few years ago. Instead of reaching under in the muck and mire and slushy snow? I just pressed the button. Whatta awesome invention. They said ""DON'T try IT ""! BUT, it will not release whilst the trailer is hooked up and the truck is moving. McCormick is based in MD. Although they have places everywhere. We go to Hunt Valley, MD. Whenever you drive through there on rt 83 heading to and from Baltimore you can smell McCormick in the air. Lot's of people give samples and goodie bags to truck drivers. It's very nice.
That's what i thought, the bag was full of popcorn 🍿 That was great that McCormick gave out goody bags, after seeing what was inside the goody bag made me hungry and crave tacos. Thank you McCormick for taking care of the drivers
Also with sliding the tandems it gives the forklift more support going in and out of the trailer so it don’t bounce so much! It also raises the back end so it’ll make it as even to the dock and trailer. Every shippers dock are different. Just throwing that out.
I started driving in 1997, drove til 2012, the roads down there have always been like that, so if they still are, I guess, there not going to change anytime soon. LOL, love your video, stay safe
When changing the hydraulic fluid, use deere synthetic. The book may suggest all hydraulics cylinders are closed for complete draining . Check for bearing play in boom, dipper, & bucket pivot joints ( pins). Change oil in track drive motors. How well zerks accept grease may shed light upon previous service. Transmission & hydraulics share a common reservoir ❓
Kraft factory near that makes carmel's and marshmallows and marshmallow cream. Lots of free samples. Employees could eat all they wanted. After a couple of weeks, no one wanted anything.
Hi Kevin and Tanja. That was a great video. I really enjoyed how long it was. That's some really nice samples. Thank you for sharing. Y'all stay safe out there. Looking forward to the next one. Happy 4th. Truck Safe. Bye 👋
When I drove as a Team OTR driver for Schneider my team mate and I got samples of Planters Peanut Butter and Platters nuts at a warehouse in Washington State, going to Cincinati Ohio. 😁
Where I worked I would move all different trailers with a spotter and I had trouble sometimes backing up the 20 ft. containers. Sometimes had to back into one big door to where the dock was inside the buildings. After 37 & half years was enough for me. We had a few of our forklift drivers be in the trailers and the truckers took off. They couldn't get them stopped till they were almost back on the main road.
The only place I have gotten free samples so far was at a pretzel factory somewhere in PA. They gave me three big bags of the different type of pretzels they made.
The only sample I ever got was when I was driving for a roll-off disposal company. The customer was a brewery and once I dropped the bin when I got back into the truck there was a case of beer on the passenger seat.
I never got free samples from mcormick. Maybe it's a new thing. Either way, congrats on getting them. Wish more companies would do that for the drivers.
Re new thing This used to be normal at the old mcormick plant in London Ontario. I used to ride with my father hauling out of it, the good old days when kids could ride in truck with parent. I always got a big bag of candy and the odd time dad got a case of cookies. Don't know how it is today but with safety and security I don't think it would fly today. Sorry this is just an old farts memories of childhood, over 70 years ago.
Awwwww. Thanks for sharing that story!!! I can picture it!!! London, Ontario!?!?!? Oh my.... I visited friends at Western during my McGill years. What fun that was!!
I've added feedback (rated) at a few shippers on Google maps. Also added hints for other drivers, like where do you check in, where are the bathrooms, no room for turning around beyond the end of the building, stuff like that. Other drivers have previously done that at a lot of places so I'm just doing my part to help each other out. Popcornopolis in L.A. makes gourmet popcorn items for Costco out west. They almost always hand you some freebie overruns; you can grab a couple more if you're bold enough to ask 😂
Nothing wrong to saying no to that preplan. At least wait until to are finished loading. With that preplan you would have to go through Atlanta three times. Plus at least 50 miles to find parking. Plus you will hit traffic on the holiday weekend. I would put my pta as the next morning. No sense in burning yourself out. Don’t take loads that have you driving when you don’t want to. Crete has plenty of loads and you and they will learn when you like to drive (day or night).
That's how I had to do them i refused anything outside the time i drive. It's a good company don't get me wrong but you have to keep them in line. I haven't had anymore problems out of them I drive my schedule I like everyday. You have to speak up for yourself at all times don't care if you new to the company or not. I hate the lag with the elogs, it can take almost a full minute to change duty status and if you forget to confirm it, it just does whatever it wants...
Never rated a warehouse or shipped, that would be interesting🤔. To bad so many don’t allow you to stay on their property to rest. Finding a spot after 7 or 8 PM in most areas is tough. Be safe.
Thanks Bonnie!! Yes. Things are going well. Just like at Werner, things aren't perfect, but Kevin is making much better money. So we are very happy about that. Miss those lovely blue trucks though! :-))) Hope all is well with you and that you had a good holiday!!
The only warehouse I got happy with was when I was sick I was happy about going to a FedEx because I was constantly out of kleenex and they had the nicest toilet paper that was larger and softer for my nose. Tmi?
Happy to hear you love our channel! Yes. You can make changes with annotations (to explain in case of inspection). The only one you cannot change is ‘drive.’
I’ve rated a shipper/receiver or two on TruckerPath of my own accord. I’ve never been asked to rate one. I’ve never been given a goodie bag or any kind of “freebie” from a shipper/receiver that comes to mind. I’ve gotten stuff from out terminals on a “driver appreciation day”.
Ahhhhh...yes. Those company goodies were fun!! Kevin got a few at Werner. We love the window shade especially!! And thanks for being a conscientious trucker putting ratings on Trucker Path! It helps others. We check those reviews quite often!
Do you all cook inside your truck if so do a video and show how you do it. The trucks we get never have space to do any cooking unless you do it by the shifter
If you turn off the engine while in Yard Move it will go back to On Duty then Driving if you go 5 MPH or more. If you are on PC and you turn the engine off it will ask you to confirm that you want to stay in PC when you restart it.
God bless them for keeping that toilet clean because some truckers are so disgusting that they should be arrested and locked away. Absolutely disgusting.
The only thing I got for free was 72 rolls of Scott toilet paper. The box was damaged so the company rejected it. My manager told me to find a dumpster and toss it. Needless to say. on my next home time my family got free toilet paper.
Hey there. Yes. We get that comment often. But as the other viewers said, it's not of interest to either of us actually. I don't want to drive and we both like to sleep in a stationary bed. I love what I'm doing with the UA-cam channel. And that's only possible because I don't drive, but rather work on UA-cam full time. But...we appreciate your good will for us!!! And...are happy that we are building this awesome community and that you are part of it!!!
You guys where the reason I chose Werner. Now that I've been sitting in Lake City for 2 weeks waiting for a leader after my recruiter said it wouldn't be longer than 2 days. Same recruiter said that the leader would be by my side awake for 21 days because, they didn't do TEAM TRAINING!! I asked this for a reason. I recorded this and played it for driver support. She pretended to write shit down. The ONLY reason I haven't left is because I'm worried that they will bad mouth my DAC. That's my impression because i don't know anything about trucking new to it. Would have taken a different job, if I'd known the training was team. This seems to be a shady company. So I assume trucking companies can lie to people with no repercussions?
We are so sorry to hear that you are having issues starting out with Werner. 2 weeks waiting for a trainer is very frustrating! We get that! Kevin was out within 2 days. The rest of his orientation classmates within a week. One guy two weeks because of some issue with his hair test (which got resolved). We know they are short on trainers, but hopefully they’ll get you out there soon. Kevin was the only one who drove during first 5 days and only daytime. Then they did ‘team’ drive, but Kevin only daytime. Last week they team drove anytime of day. His trainer would get in his bunk but seemed to always be aware of what Kevin was doing. So…that’s probably what it would look like for you. Don’t know if your recruiter was a bit ‘shady’ in his/her explanations. But…don’t let it discourage you!!! It’s a solid company, especially for newbies. If you do decide to leave I don’t think they’d put anything bad in your DAC. People quit all the time. You didn’t do anything wrong! But…try and see it through!!! There is a lot of potential and other ‘starter’ companies will have a lot of the same issues. We wish you good luck!!!!! Let us know how it goes!!!! And thanks for reaching out!

Hello mr. Kevin do you recommend drive for crete . I was a lease rent program with Ryder for about two years now the spot market went down and the fuel price doubled its getting hard to even cover the costs I been negative four weeks in the row and now I'm done looking go company for some time
That will be the smarter way to go right now, I been with crete for 4 years + now and is really good no complaints good benefits. I like it because they Have a scholarship program 2 of my older kids already finished college with that. Also the profit sharing is really good oh and also 401k and benefits. So I think you should.

Pays from 60cpm to 63cpm if you have experience for sure 63cpm. 74k per year probably average about 1,423 per week. You probably run about 2,100 miles per week. Good luck in orientation. My name is Alex truck#45984 hope to see you out there soon. I'm National so I'm everywhere 🤣😂😂 I'm in Barstow California going to Georgia.
Does Crete hire Class A CDL holders who don’t have any experience driving other than CDL training and passing the drivers testing? Or must you have a certain amount of time driving time to qualify for a driving position with them?
Unfortunately we don’t know the details yet. Kevin had one year and didn’t need to go out with a trainer but has camera fir 60 days instead. Another viewer came with 6 months but had to go out with a trainer. Don’t think they take total rookies, but you never know. Best ti call Cassidy to get specific answers for your situation. If not go to a starter company and then come over as soon as they will let you. Kevin’s income is much improved. We are very happy with our decision. Where are you at in the process? Did you already get your CDL?
@@TheJoyofTrucking Couple of ideas for a video.....Wondering if Kevin can compare your lifestyle to working at a local trucking company where you come home each night. pros and cons. Also all the things you can do in the truck. Cooking a meal??? Sleeping in the truck?? Heating vs. A/C What you can do and the down side...what you can not do.
Regarding free samples. You might consider pulling this video down. Company management generally do not approve their employees giving away free samples. They generally see it as cutting into their business - even if it's samples that they cannot otherwise sell. They would rather have it destroyed than given away. At one time, for instance, employees at "the worlds greatest chocolate" factory got fired for giving candy away to truckers. The only thing wrong with the candy was that it was put in the wrong wrappers. So they couldn't sell it. But they got fired for giving it away. Thus, you could be getting those employees in trouble for giving you free samples. Always keep it discrete. And putting it all over the internet on YT is kinda the opposite of discrete. BTW, I've been given tons of "samples" including 40 pounds of fresh meat, 6 car tires (that just happened to fit my car), and an entire trailer of fast food salad bowls. Be prepared to handle "samples" and "gifts" of just about anything.

In one video, they covered 621 miles in 10.25 hours driving plus about and hour and a half on duty not driving or off duty, so in that almost 12 hours, there was a 38 minute video. They said that the other times the listened to music and recorded books. I enjoyed it when my wife could come along, but unfortunately that wasn't often enough. I ended up driving for 40 years, mostly by myself (probably 98%). I talked on the CB a lot (I drove from 1970-2010, much more CB in the old days) and later recorded books. I loved my job. I now volunteer driving for a non-profit two days a week. Different strokes for different folks.

Thanks for the explanation!! Appreciate your input!!
God bless them for keeping that toilet clean because some truckers are so disgusting that they should be arrested and locked away. Absolutely disgusting.
👍😳😳😳
You should turn down some of these loads that are live or with overnight load times at end of shift.
Yes! Thank you! We are learning how things work with Crete. Things will get smoother as we figure that out!
Happy Fourth of July
Awwww….thanks!!! Hope you had a good July 1st. 😆😃😆
As always a great vlog. Question. Trailers. Has Kevin had to clean out his trailer or have they been pretty clean? Have a good and safe day tomorrow.
They’ve been pretty clean!! He might have had to sweep a couple times but for minor touch up. :-))

Memphis to Atlanta. Not soooo local. No worries. Long runs coming up. 😃
The only thing I got for free was 72 rolls of Scott toilet paper. The box was damaged so the company rejected it. My manager told me to find a dumpster and toss it. Needless to say. on my next home time my family got free toilet paper.

Hey yall how's the miles hoping you are getting all you can. Stay safe out there and happy 4th of July to ya.
You too!!! Thanks!! Averaging over 3000 a week. Up from 2400 at Werner. Very happy!!
That's great I'm glad to see yall are doing good. Stay safe.

I can't but think the kind of money you guys could make team driving
They don’t team drive I think Kevin is the only driver.👍🏼
I got the impression that she has no interest in driving the truck. They do what works for them.
If she keeps making videos she will make more than he does driving . Keep it up.
Hey there.
That's correct! :-) Thanks for adding it here.
Do you ever get fresh groceries delivered to the truck? If not how do you get fresh produce out on the road?
No we haven’t. We shop at Walmarts or sometimes other grocery stores.
You All need to learn how an what to eat !! Hope to die with grease hamburger in my colan love your video keep up the good
38 minutes of “20 questions” for poor Kevin.🤣
Actually 38 minutes and 44 seconds. Thanks for counting the questions. 😆

So how does anyone know when you get out of a shipper.
2 today, Is the old truck better at pulling than the T680 and what you normal cruise speed?
so dont you have a coffe maker in your truck ?
I have a French Press but often we don’t take the time or I don’t want to clean it later on.

@@truckingwithcrete I just got fully approved to come aboard. Setting up orientation next week. Do you know anything about the Dedicated account I'm in Missouri I signed up for the 4 on 3 off. Running from Dallas to Indy, Illinois
@@frankparchell936 congratulations on getting approved. That fleet is pretty nice specially if you have kids and wife at home you only be out 4 days and 3 at home.
You need at least one year. But they do make exceptions depending on what driving school you went to. Give them a call and check - can’t hurt to ask.
Why can't you make coffee in the truck. Breakfast in the truck?????
🤔 We can. We do.
@@TheJoyofTrucking Couple of ideas for a video.....Wondering if Kevin can compare your lifestyle to working at a local trucking company where you come home each night. pros and cons. Also all the things you can do in the truck. Cooking a meal??? Sleeping in the truck?? Heating vs. A/C
What you can do and the down side...what you can not do.
You guys grew on me like a bad case of the herpes that you actually feel like was worth the experience.

its hard enough to do this job with out your wife talking the whole trip....no thanks. thats why the wife stays home ......
Yup! That attitude might be why she gladly stays home and talks to her friends instead.
