    They could also make it so most/all things in the crown store could be purchased with seals of endeavor.

      Seals are great in their way and they do mitigate the aforementioned problem... a little. Because the tardiness of accumulation of any decent amount of them is ridiculous.

      @@DrYankeeDoodle agreed, it would need reworked to viable, and more than just 3 of 5 options a day, but the system could replace most of the crown store

    They can’t change the reward structure now because of the way corporations work. They have to always increase profit because if they don’t stocks and shit go down and they are fucked. If they hadn’t started so aggressively it wouldn’t be so bad but too late now. The thing I hate so much is that they double dip on cash shop and subscription. Historically games would be one or the other but they get their cake and eat it too and no one bats an eye.

      Yep, we all would like a better reward structure, but they dont aim to make the game the best possible, as any company, they aim to be the most profitable. So theres a balance between making it good enough so you spend the most money, by spending the less resources possible. Reestructuring the reward system would hardly increase their profit compared to all the momentary and constant work load and ressources it would cost them

    There needs to be more in-game rewards to incentivize.
    I'm fairly new to ESO (& all online gaming) and I've gotten most (of what few there are) of the in-game rewards already (besides late game stuff, like vet trials). And I have no incentive to do much.
    Also, getting gold is depressing. Very low gold rewards for everything.
    I do have guild traders and sell there but it still is a slow grind.

      At that point what do you really use gold for?
      Except like getting yourself the end-game outfits like Factotum and Daedra
      And the easier you get gold, the higher the prices would go up.
      ESO has a relatively healthy economy compared to other MMOs
      Guild Wars 2 has the best but ESO is not far behind.

    Nice to see a content creator saying the game is unplayable without craft bags and eso plus. It is, 100% REQUIRED to play this game without driving yourself insane cause this game LOVES to fill your bags with utter bloat.

    Nine years eso here,I also love this game. Yes Zoss needs to give more in game as quests in every Provence. But Zoss doesn't listen to its customers. I want more quests because I've finished just about everything in game. Maybe add a new long quest for each Provence every year.

    I have a different take that should seem beneficial to ZOS in that I’d like to see some of the cooler items being sold for straight cash and not be part of the gambling that are the crown crates. Rotate the items, and use older crown crate items if need be, and they’d make even more bank from players.

    Absolutely spot on, i mean this issue has been covered by pretty much all the major ESO content creators since years at this point, but feels good to get another slightly different and personal take on this, earned a sub!
    The other point that mostly makes ESO very perfectible as well is the class design that is extremely heterogeneous - if you take the Arcanist class design as an example, it's so well and smartly designed (crux system, morph smart & interesting design choices) that it feels like the class has been created by completely different people, compared to something like the Necromancer which uses half assed corpse mechanics and that has very poor class identity (for example, absolutely no cross-roles abilities within different class skill lines, bland morph choices (like the skeletal archer for instance - both morphs are basically the same)), or some other older classes (i guess except the DK, which has an oddly strong class identity, and surprise surprise, it's one of the better classes overall out there whether in terms of performance or enjoyment). As an old WoW player, i can attest that the class identity there is very strong and well defined, which i feel like ESO could get some inspiration from.

    Hey dude. Love the video and I agree with your points. I love ESO but I would enjoy it so much more if there were more gameplay incentives. I'm also a hardcore achievement hunter in this game and I was wondering what addon you use that colors the achievement catagories red or green for completion? I looked around but I couldn't find it.

  • @PingWhisper

    It's also about expanding your player base. In addition to needing income, you have to get new players as well. If you can't do that, then you have to increase the cost on your existing members. A game that has this exact problem is EVE Online, it struggles to get new players, so its monetization on its existing members keeps getting higher and higher.
    The reason it's less aggressive the more popular games, is because they just have more players.
    Less players - more monetization needed per player (EX EVE ONLINE)
    More players - less monetization needed per player (EX WOW/FFXIV)
    My guess is ESO is somewhere in the middle here.

    Earning Endeavours was a great addition to the game. I've been farming them since the day they dropped and it builds up slow and everything is expensive, but having a means of buying crown items through time and effort was necessary. It still isn't an achievement or satisfying thing, but makes me less hostile to the game's monetization (especially when I compare ESO to Destiny 2)
    That said, cosmetics, costumes, skins, mounts, and pets should be used as quest rewards more often. What TF and I going to do with 300 gold and a sword nobody uses?

    I understand the community wants this type of thing where you could unlock the majority of cosmetics with achievements, but to say that its aggressive or like a lot of players say, egregious, is always shocking to me. I have played too many MMO, and dedicated myself to at least 5 or 6 in 20 years, like GW2, MapleStory, Mabinogi, Black Desert, ESO, Wakfu, and the rest of and on multi playing them. Everyone of them even GW2 has way more issues in game store wise than ESO. Heck GW2 mounts have skins and they also have a variety that are not just cosmetics, but they actually do different things but they literally allow you to trade cash shop money to game currency no market needed. I know people really do want unlockable things but it's really no big deal. If the game is losing players it simply has to be other reasons if just about every other MMO has worse cash shops and still stay afloat, some older than ESO. It is something I think ZOS should look at since it's community want it, but it really isn't necessary. If you look at MapleStory which may look dead, still a huge MMO in Korea, they have the worst p2w period and they are still supported. Hey, Maple had a lawsuit for illegally changing rates for p2w, and have a class action lawsuit for it right now. They haven't lost many players due to it. They have lost but still it's what I am saying comparatively having a store for ESO is no big deal. ESO lost players because of other reasons. This reason is just not it in my opinion. 4 major updates a year and 1 being an expansion is a huge deal. Only need the chapter and a sub. BDO has 3 subs and p2w all good cosmetics in store which can also be p2w, and is probably bigger than New World still. This ain't the reason imo.

    • @Cooperharley0204
      @Cooperharley0204  8 місяців тому

      A lot of your examples are eastern-based MMOs - Lost Ark, BDO, etc
      This is not a common thing for a western-based MMO. Eastern based MMOs often come with some sort of notion that there will be gambling, P2W or tons of monetization. ESO is very out of place for the market relative to common western MMOs

    • @Hi_Shu
      @Hi_Shu 8 місяців тому

      @@Cooperharley0204 I could understand that. I just can't relate having played so many MMO and knowing people dedicated to one and people that play many. To me it's never a selective choice whether I choose an MMO because it's western or not. It's true though I hear about people not liking eastern MMO, but I have never met anyone like that.
      Though I still don't agree, which is probably because I don't separate the experiences. I look at cosmetics as something fun but not core. I started ESO in beta, but the aesthetic was and still isn't something I care too much about, and I am used to buying outfits on other games.
      Though like I said I see why. ZOS should look at that for sure. I just don't think it's a huge deal.

  • @Eso_lags
    @Eso_lags 8 місяців тому

    People care about cosmetics. Zos knows this is a problem. Many players do. Many players wont play because of it, or leave after a short time. If they wont fix it across the whole game then its on them. Eso is just massive lost potential. Between the terrible rewards and the performance issues, they lose so many people. And dont let the people on the forums tell you otherwise, theres a very vocal minority on the forums who are extremely casual players that feel the need to go into any thread that doesnt praise zenimax and boot lick thoroughly. Youll see the same names pop up time and time again with no real input except to say they dont agree, not offer any middle ground, and bootlick as hard as possible.
    And when you get to know more about many of these players a lot of them play as causal as possible. 30 characters to RP all under level 50 except maybe 1. People who dont do anything pve related besides normal dungeons, questing, etc, and who wouldnt dream of going into pvp. They usually hate pvpers as well. Ive been dealing with these same people for years. One of the reasons why i barely use the forums now tbh.

    I don't play the DLC dungeons or most group content due to the difficulty. I tend to treat ESO as a single player game. Crown store allows me access to cosmetics that would otherwise compel me to play group content.
    Now if rewards are linked to soloable zone quests completions, then I'm absolutely fine.

    you see all this crazy mounts and other stuff.....and the only thought that crosses my mind: Endgame-rewards? Na....Cashshop:) Although i NEVER have been in the veteran endgame content.....never ever. And i already know this...i noticed.....and that cant be a good sign. Would also see more creative ways to gain mounts. We are still missing some sort of a faction-reputation. Get friendly with faction A - and faction B will dislike you more...so you have to make a decision. You could lock some mounts behind that mechanic...or may be well have a horse race (with new control/speed mechanics) with interessting crownstore prices. Endgame-Rewards from dungeon/raids, special achievements.... and so on....
