I use that same happy frog with 5 gallon pots, 4 gallons of happy frog and1 gallon worm castings with 4-4-4 nutes and 2-8-4 nutes 50/50 ratio using 3 tbsp per gallon and i add in a little more perlite to keep it light. Grow under mars hydro 150 watt light and i finished my last two white widow autos in 9 weeks total with 140 grams.
Excellent explanation of commonly mentioned products with insight to why to pick one over the other while also providing the scientific advantages each offers
I have had 0 failures on starting seeds in Foxfarm ocean forest. i have found no need to do all the transplanting, start in 7 gal grow bag and full light cycle works every time. 5yrs plus
Definitely 💖 Fox farms products I've been growing now for a few years now and truly love it but I truly wouldn't preach that 🙌 all u need to grow 😮because I truly been just doing exactly what you said for now 3 years and knowing what you're ph and ppm are so important by buying this blue lab equipment I've been growing now so much better so as preaching to a new grower and buying cheap ph and ppm pens are not worth the money but definitely love growing
Fox farm says that Happy Frog needs a fertilizer to be added to it twice a grow season and ocean forest doesn’t need any fertilizer for first 4-6 weeks.
Trying the light warrior from fox farm. In my experience it doesn’t retain moisture well enough to germinate constantly adding water after a week still no germination. I have miracle grow seed starting soil in the same small green house that retains moisture well. I feel like I got burned.
Thank you SO much. I have only done 3 grows & I used light mix & bio bizz only nutes & I wanted to try AN. I had no idea you can use synthetic nutes on it. I thought it had to be strictly organic. Again, Thank you!!
You really shouldn’t use synthetic nutes at all to be honest, properly tuned organic nutes will always produce a much better end result... More importantly though, why the hell would you ever pay the premium for organic soil just to screw it up with synthetic nutes???
What are some good additions to add to happy frog while growing cannabis? Strawberry fields for flowering? I’m confused by what to feed after the three weeks you mentioned
SOHUM is the best to me but it cost. Ocean Forest can be a little hot in some batches. So I’ll leave a Gallon size hole 🕳️& put plane coco coir for seedling 🌱 to have a little time b4 it hits the Ocean Forest. Also I add Langbeinite at the start to new bag cuz I find it stops yellowing later on. Ocean Forest is amazing but it’s missing a little something.😉.
I’m going to be growing gorilla style in the woods and I want to grow a couple big big plants and the rest regular size! Can I grow big plants and good quality with just happy frog and fox farm soil? Do I need to add worm castings and what else do I add?
Just saying, I ordered a big block of promax and I had the worst outcome with it. It burned up all my plants then I switch my soil and had great results. Pretty sure it was the soil. My VPD is pretty good in my 4 x 4 just that soil, maybe it was a bandit who knows never again while I order prom mix I stay with Foxfarm worm, casting Coco core From Cana Coco With a little craft blend from build a soil and their worm, casting
Let your soil dry in a large bin or on a tarp for a week or so before use. Through that week, churn it up every so often. Haven't had a gnat issue since I started that.
It's more likely that you bought a bag that has been exposed to the 🌞 and moisture from sitting on a palette or garage. Less like from them themselves I'd imagine. Though it definitely happens. After planting my companion flowers and plants I had a bad batch of organic soil. Mushrooms were my free gift that day...lol! So, yeah I basically cook all my soils now. Tge other commentator nailed it. Plus you can ammend it the way you want it before day one arrives. That sucks though. Especially, if you were counting on a single bad to be right and ready. A big let down for sure...
when im starting a new cycle not from clones i plant my seeds directly into Happy frog its not a Hot soil like ocean forest or strawberry fields.. to me, Light warrior is not worth it.. i get near 100% germ rate with happy frog.. water pot, plant seed half finger nail deep, then i cover the entire pot with a plastic bag creating individual mini greenhouse type environments for the seeds.. keeps the soil perfectly moist never have to water again.. once seed pops i remove the plastic bags from the tops. However i do add Lime to my soil regardless of what im running..I find the lime or oyster shell (whatever fox farm uses) doesnt last all the way through my grow to keep the soil buffered.. Adding the extra lime allows me to never have to worry about PH.. I also add alittle Kelp meal since it is hard to over use kelp.. and it is PACKED with micro nutes.
Can I leave my marijuana plant (now legal in Canada) in the Happy frog for its full life and just feed it after the 3 weeks and what can I use as food for it's full life ?
Buy yourself miracle grow soil add plant and water only with a little LST some defoliation and get ready for big sticky buds. We have grown this way since the 1980's never had a bad grow. If growing outside miracle grow blue. It's never let me down.
When you said to transplant for a second time to the ocean forest from happy frog I assume because you used all of the nutrients in like 3 weeks or so? What if you add natural nutrients and keep the happy frog in there? Or is it better to swap to ocean forest? I assume adding natural nutrients like bone meal, worms castings, etc would be great
I learned u don't know until u try these different blends. Mother earth dirt is great. Coco has nothing in it. So for that reason alone it's easier with dirt. Coco I feel is a pain in the ass until u get your nutrients in line. It was going good then I let it dry out 2 much. Yeah no bueno. It did start out bigger. I guess I'll learn at some point.

The standard you can substitute pro for happy frog
I do the same. Learned from watching Mr canucks grow. I using synthetic before and now realize this is the simplest way to grow.
that's all
Excellent explanation of commonly mentioned products with insight to why to pick one over the other while also providing the scientific advantages each offers
Suggestion for next soil videos would be to show what the soil actually looks like.
I have had 0 failures on starting seeds in Foxfarm ocean forest. i have found no need to do all the transplanting, start in 7 gal grow bag and full light cycle works every time. 5yrs plus
What's your mix besides FFOF in the 7 gallon bag?

I use sungro black gold and indacanja soil mixed-up with some purple cow organics nutrients

Good Job gentlemen
Excellent video

Great content, so underrated
Best hydro store!! 🙌🏻
Thank you 💯

Thanks for the video. Was going to order until I saw that shipping price! Guess I gotta find a place locally.
Will I get the same yield from the promix with additives than foxfarm
Lol awesome vid boys thanks
Mixing up Strawberryfields with the mother earth mix
Your intro flawless

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Good Stuff !!!!
Thanks for this video cause I'm growing indoor and they won't grow
Bag I ordered came with its own fungus Nats. They didn't charge any extra.
Let your soil dry in a large bin or on a tarp for a week or so before use. Through that week, churn it up every so often. Haven't had a gnat issue since I started that.
I’ve been doing this for 20 years. Even the finest companies like Canna can give you a bag of soil with fungus gnats.
It's more likely that you bought a bag that has been exposed to the 🌞 and moisture from sitting on a palette or garage. Less like from them themselves I'd imagine. Though it definitely happens. Not funny. But hularoius!hilarious! "Didn't even charge extra." Lmao!
Nemotodes. Easy to use. And effective.

Same for me with the Happy Frog. I even do the plastic bag thing to raise humidity.
@@lawnman3638 yea it works so well, I still too this day have had near 100% I can’t even remember the last seed to fail.
Great information but are you transplanting every time you’re switching up soils or just adding to the top layer of soil?
This is what I wonder as well , seems like that is what they are suggesting as soil will be out of nutrients. But that’s seems impractical?
Thank you 👍
I would just suggest use pro mix Hp and worm castings with Gaia green organic that will equal a 5 oz to a half pound plant every time! just add water
I use this, except with coco coir versus pro mix
Interesting. Could you elaborate on exactly how to set this up and when to feed.
You mix all that together
Can I leave my marijuana plant (now legal in Canada) in the Happy frog for its full life and just feed it after the 3 weeks and what can I use as food for it's full life ?
sweet glasses bro.... lol great video!
Would the peat/coco be a good “sterile” media for seed starting?
Can I grow seeds in Happy Frog potting soil? What is the benefit of using happy frog potting soil vs Happy Frog soil conditioner? Is it just perlite?
Buy yourself miracle grow soil add plant and water only with a little LST some defoliation and get ready for big sticky buds. We have grown this way since the 1980's never had a bad grow. If growing outside miracle grow blue. It's never let me down.
@@maw6456 a few 2 many over watering n that plant will die. Screw that time release crap

instaBlaster.
Needed this info
It's crazy every bag of soil I've ever bought has fungus knats in em
Thats a great reason to not give them your money.

Big tomatoes???
Coconut coir comes from the husk of the coconut, not the tree.
That’s a lot of transplanting, I’d rather just add nutrients
139 GBP a bag not point shipping way to expensive that from eBay UK
Coast of main is far superior to this soil. With no bugs
@0:21 BA DA PSHHHHHH
No soil is needed so you are wrong. EG: Hydro and faster growth and bigger yeilds.
flavorless
@ 12 seconds: Why?
Happy frog has went down hill imo. Fungus gnats and sticks and stems. It's sad
when I sue happy frog I have to add a 24-45-60 to make um grow bid...
it ain't all that
U won't grow no Austrian Oak with that stuff..
CLOWNS

damn some of y'all need to rethink how often you rage at UA-cam. I got about 8 plants in dirt right now lol
apparently you need a shot of country... and anger management....
whoa you really got him there buddy
what a douche bag
Fox farm full of bugs!
One type of soil is called a medium, not a media. There is no such word as "medias".
