Now you have to do a video where you ride every coaster at Sea World then drive to Busch Gardens and ride every coaster...call it the I-4 Coaster Challenge! Lol
Thank you so much for this video. I was born in 81 and my only time I was ever at the Tampa Busch Gardens was 86. The memories I have seem like snapshots but with seeing your shot of the Scorpion I could picture watching my father get on and ride that coaster as I watched in awe. You just helped bring back so many memories. I have been on a search to find an old paper map from back in that day so I could see all the attractions I sort of remember. Your video was so great, thank you.
Plus, the story of your dad showing up and it being closed reminds me of a quick story. My dad and I when I was young would go to an amusement park or mini golf the day before Easter, so I would be out of the way, and my mom could cook. One year, we went to a park here in NYC named Rockaway Playland, but a problem occurred. My dad was driving up and down the beach trying to find it but couldn't. Then he realized that an empty lot that was supposed to be turned into apartment buildings was where Playland stood. We drove all the way there, but he did not know they tore it down a couple of months before.
That was cool! I have ridden Big Thunder Mountain and I even have a video of me on it screaming and laughing. But, I will not go on more intense rides. I got motion sick years ago on the flying baskets at Busch Gardens! When I went there with my son's class in 1994 I held the kid's belongings and watched them ride. The other day someone on Facebook posted a picture of people in the parking lot of Busch Gardens in 1972. The admission price was $2, plus adults got a cup of beer! I moved from there in 1971.
Love this ❤️ Every time I hear the phrase " Best Remove em " I think of Adam the Woo and Tim Tracker. Every time I see a Flamiiiiingoooo I think of you Tampa Jay. I actually bought a flamingo key chain last year while visiting Panama City Beach. Great video . I remember riding Big Thunder mountain in the 80s. I was 16 at the time. Only time I have got to visit Disney. You and Chris the girl have a great Easter weekend. God bless you. ❤
I've been on scorpion many times. Watching your video was the first time I noticed that there's only a lap bar and no shoulder harness. Not common for a ride with an inversion. Great content as always Jay. Appreciate the photo bomb of Chris the girl 🔥
Great video! I’m an 80’s baby too! Jan 7, 89! lol. I was born and raised in Fl and now currently living in central Fl, but the Scorpion was my very first roller coaster that I rode with my older brother! I remember when it was orange and black. And I was just talking with my husband the other day about this ride!
Tampa Jay, long time no see! I was going to say you were born either 1978, 1979 or 1980 but, I was wrong. I wouldn't get on any rollercoasters. I'll get on the Mini mine train at SFOT and I've ridden a kiddie coaster at our county fair back in '89 or "90. Really enjoyed your video!
Fun video, I didn’t realize Thunder Mountain was from the 80s but it was the first roller coaster I ever rode. I was born in the 70s, had my childhood in the 80s and my teen years in the 90s, so I claim all 3 decades lol
What classic rides! And what dedication to drive over an hour to ride these two awesome 80’s coasters. Devo was the perfect music to listen to while you traveled. Loved it!😀
I love the Busch Gardens videos. I grew up in the Palma Ceia area during 80-90s and went there many times. Now living in WV, the videos bring back memories of riding the scorpion, python, and congo
Gen X'er here. Millennials go from 1981 to 1996, so you my friend were already ⅔'s of the way in. I love Busch Gardens...probably my favorite park. Since you're from Indiana, you may have been to Great America in Gurnee. If so, The Whizzer is the first one I ever rode! They had the Turn of the Century which was the first coaster I ever did that went upside down. They later renamed it The Demon. Good times! Thanks again for a great vid.
I think BTMRR is underated , i feel it's one of the best rides in MK . Its a ride. i have a smile on my face from start to finish . Alwaya have to ride each time i go !
Jay, you are Gen Y….my sister was born 81 and she is Gen Y….My brother & I are Gen X (we were born in the 70s-I was 75, my brother is 79)….my mom is a boomer (born ‘56). Happy Easter to you, your family, Cris The Girl & her family.

I was there in August of 85. There was a hurricane when we arrived. I have family there in Florida south of Orlando, north of Miami. I do have a nephew in Orlando tho. Cub fan. Like your videos, I have not commented since thst abandoned thing you were in . Pretty scary I guess. You were alone. Well Illinois lost , cubs lost again to Texas. I only care about my cubbies, they didn't signs enough. I'm really off topic on your video. But I was there.
Awesome. Roller Coasters definitely have an ageless, timeless quality to them. Not to mention a lot of fast moving thrills and chills, as well as ups and downs.🎢
Thank you for watching! instagram.com/tampajay for more!

That’s nice Jay, but how about you riding Velociraptor and Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket?
Both great roller coasters love them. I wish they would let me film on those.
You gotta hit up Busch Gardens Williamsburg for Lochness Monster… I remember riding python at BG 🪦
Also believe it or not Scorpion was the very first roller coaster I rode on before I ever rode Python. Kumba was my first major roller coaster
That’s awesome
8:40 to your point. Disney has the money but they need to give the Imagineers the freedom and flexibility.
