If a relationship is in question, listen to this song and it helps! Thank you, Stevie for writing the songs that make us all stop and think and wonder.
Call On Me For Magic, was recorded during the TISL sessions, sometime between 1999-2000. The song was produced by David Kahne (VP of A&R at Warner Bros. at the time) He also produced "Love Changes" off TISL. Rumor has it this song was written with or solely by David, & he wanted Stevie to sing it for possible inclusion on a movie soundtrack. Needless to say, This gorgeous gem has never been officially released. It leaked 3-4 years ago when David K had it streaming on his website.
The songwriter lost his 6 year old daughter to brain tumor. He wrote this as a comfort song for his wife and he didn't want anyone else to record it but Stevie.
Thanks for the info. What a gorgeous, utterly heartbreaking song. This deserves to be heard so much, I can't think of a reason why this wasn't included on TISL (especially since there were a couple of average songs on that album).
Emotions disappearing And your dreams all vaporize Another love has come and gone but That’s no surprise Some sorcerer has touched you Placed his hands upon your soul And stays till your feelings lose control Oh what kind of strange enchantment Hold you captive in your mind I can find the magic words potion to unwind Call on me for magic Call on me to break the spell That hold your heart away so easily Come and let me hypnotize your sorrow with my song Call on me for magic Call on me Your peace of mind deserts you in a place you don’t belong Don’t sit and stare at emptiness till nothing comes along Let me try and show you that your fantasy’s not true That love is not for everyone but you Oh what kind of strange enchantment hold you captive in your mind I can find the magic words potion to unwind Call on me for magic call on me to break the spell That holds your heart away so easily Call and let me hypnotize your sorrow with my song Call on me for magic call on me
Fantastic job.... I thought I was the only one... My guy who passed away, cracked the Bella Donna, lp over my head cause I played it so much. Needless to say. He brought me a new one right away
i love this song so much! i keep coming back to it, and i've finally gotten up the courage to do a cover over on my channel! thanks so much for allowing me to hear and fall in love with it!!! :)
WOWSIE......she could record songs for some movie soundtracks.....maybe the next Disney epic or something....take notice movie producers!!! This could take her career to a whole new level........sheesh!!!!!
It was recorded around 1999-2000, during the Trouble In Shangri-la sessions. It is one of her best vocals from that era. I wish it had been included on the LP, but she recorded it for the Producer/Writer for a possible work he was thinking of creating in the future.
Straight out of the 40s. Listen to that jazz feel.
Beautiful. I could cry

Her voice sounds wonderful here. There is some range which she doesn't use too often.
Wow!!! This sort of song is so perfect for Stevie Nicks' amazing voice. Utterly, utterly beautiful!
Realy sounds like a hit song on a Disney soundtrack. Awesome vocals!
It's 1969 and Rodgers and Hammerstein have released their latest soundtrack....
Beautiful lyrics. Who else to call on for magic but Stevie?

Emotions disappearing
And your dreams all vaporize
Another love has come and gone but
That’s no surprise
Some sorcerer has touched you
Placed his hands upon your soul
And stays till your feelings lose control
Oh what kind of strange enchantment
Hold you captive in your mind
I can find the magic words potion to unwind
Call on me for magic
Call on me to break the spell
That hold your heart away so easily
Come and let me hypnotize your sorrow with my song
Call on me for magic
Call on me
Your peace of mind deserts you in a place you don’t belong
Don’t sit and stare at emptiness till nothing comes along
Let me try and show you that your fantasy’s not true
That love is not for everyone but you
Oh what kind of strange enchantment hold you captive in your mind
I can find the magic words potion to unwind
Call on me for magic call on me to break the spell
That holds your heart away so easily
Call and let me hypnotize your sorrow with my song
Call on me for magic call on me
