This is such an entertaining video, Alli. I love it! I agree, at this stage Chanel's red eyeshadow obsession is ridiculous. I admit I own a quad with red in it, but I've never used it. I have yet to see anyone in real life wear this look. The one product in my experience that was a big disappointment was Baume Essential in Transparent. Loved the concept -- glossy highlight without shimmer -- but that stuff just wouldn't dry down! I hated it, and sent it back almost immediately. Oh, and "Thanks, I hate it" is my favourite new phrase!
LOVE your eye look! The light color on your lids looks awesome! Your skin looks flawless and this look is very youthful and natural! Best I’ve seen on UA-cam in a long time!!!!
Unpopular opinion: I love the red eye shadow. I have pale, pink toned skin and blue eyes. I bought both the oversized pallets this year. Which was a little excessive but I adore them because they look good on me. But, maybe I just like looking sick? Lol. ETA: I’m mid thirties and it just works for my aging self 😅
Lol no those shades do look good on very fair skin with blue or green eyes. I honestly liked the first few rounds of red eyeshadow but since they to reds every year for a few seasons it’s too much for me 😂
I bought both too and am 61. At my age I love to rock a red Smokey eye. There was a period of ten years where I stopped buying from Channel because of the never ending brown pallets. I personally miss Lucia Pica.
I loved this video Alli! And you made me crack up when you had that horror movie music when talking about the red eyeshadows 😂😂 I don’t love them as well! If I had to choose the worst Chanel beauty product, I think I pick the Le Blanc primer. Even though I have a fair complexion, that primer makes me look like a ghost every time I use it. Have a wonderful weekend ❤
I understand your tiredness with red eyeshadows, after so many years there is maybe nothing original to show and everyone who wanted to try this look already had a chance. However, it must be honestly admitted that when in 2016, Lucia Pica created Collection No. 1 for Chanel, it was a revolution, there was nothing like it on the market, there was no approach to create a look based on the same color. She said then that the red color enhances everyones eye color and makes you look so alive because it's a part of the skin color, and I have to agree on that. This monochromatic collection started my obsession with Chanel makeup, which previously seemed very classic, conservative. It was a sensation for me. I bought almost the whole collection then and to this day, being over 40 now, I am reaching for such a look quite often and it looks so interesting and unique. For me personally, it just became a timeless version of a smokey eye look.
Oh yes I totally agree! I was excited when that collection came out because it was my first time wearing a dark red eyeshadow look…and then the looks never stopped 😂
This video was so spot on. Especially about the red eye shadow. The only way Chanel will stop selling it is if no one buys it. I can’t imagine many people buying it as it is but they must be doing ok or it wouldn’t keep coming back. I like the eyebrow pencil. You probably got a dud. But the only reason I like it is that it’s a good color for me. It’s very basic and nothing special, except the color. I’d add to the list the cream eye shadows that came in the little glass bottles with a liquid lipstick wand. I got the pink one and it pulled so warm on me it looked awful. It would have been perfect for an easy everyday eye look if not for the color. The product itself was nice.
I know which ones you mean, I'm wearing one today. A few other people mentioned that their eyebrow pencil also fell apart. Maybe the whole factory needs a do over 😂
Thanks for this - it’s great! ❤. I am sick of red as well. I didn’t even think about purchasing. As I am much older, I remember another red and black eyeshadow palette which I think had a clear gloss which you could put on top. It was awful. I think it came out early 00’s. I didn’t like the giant bronzers in the summer collection. Loved the concept and packaging, but as soon as you used it with the brush there was excess on the palette which was obviously loose powder which made a mess. I don’t like Gabrielle sadly. I was also so looking forward to this but it is so sweet as sickly. The Chance fragrance you mentioned is also a NO from me. Lastly I am still making up my mind about the latest mascara! Thanks Alli, looking forward for more reviews xx
I agree with these thoughts. The red eyeshadow needs to go. It isn't something normal people wear daily, maybe a night out? I've also watched a few influencers videos on the quality of Chanel handbags! WOW! not good for the prices these days. It appears there are pushing quantity of quality. Good way to lose customers.
You are quite right on red eyeshadows! Madame age and gray-blue eyes do not match with reds. I do not look like the lady in the promophoto, I look like no-sleep/hang-over/crazy-lady! That is not the look I am going for😂. Would you have any tips of tricks on using the Chanel color corrector? I got the pink for under eyes, but van not get it to work. It feels and looks too dry and too pigmented. Under eyes looks easily too light. Like reversed panda effect🐼
I agree with all of these. My spoolie fell off my eyebrow pencil as well. The color and texture are perfect for me though so I put up with using a separate spoolie.
Loved this honest video. You did make me giggle😂 ive had a few fails with chanel too. A foundation brush that came unstuck after a few months and I'm not keen on their thin kohl pencil. I agree with you on red eye shadow, it looks lovely on Kristen Stewart but I'd look like I had sore eyes🙄 sending love❤
Interesting about the Eau Vive EDP. I have loved the Hair mist in the same scent for years-bought many bottles for spring/summer, and it's beautiful. Very fresh, zesty and feminine. I bought the EDP and hated it-totally different on my skin! Why is that?? I recommend smelling the hair mist-for me, it's a totally different animal!
The eyebrow pencil never worked for me- left little white residue flakes which drove me crazy. I switched to the eyebrow gel in blonde and it works perfectly - even though I have red hair and freckles. 👍🏻
Completely agree. With the eyebrow pencil, not only the spoolie fell off, but every time I tried sharpening it, the product would break ... what a waste .. for the amount of money paid!. Also completely agree with the RED! In the past, I was always in awe of the beautiful shade each season. Now... still waiting for something interesting. Thank you for the video.
Ooooh I like zesty Allison! My Chanel fail are their liquid eyeshadows in general, so thick and patchy when you try to blend it out! What a waste of money 💸💸💸
I remember some old dry powdery eye shadow quints back in the day. Five rectangular shades in a small size package (not one of those larger palettes). I may still have one of those palettes around I think in a green color story. I don’t recall the name though.
I haven’t notice about the red eyeshadow! I started buying Chanel in 2019 Holiday. I’m thinking if it could be the reason of red eyeshadows cause red Camellia Flower. I know it’s usually white on the brand items. But I know they had it in red for short time. I think it was the brooch.
I agree with your choices. I am not a fan of the baume essentialle's- just dont work with my skin, its like putting lip balm on my cheekbones and it never dries down! I just bought one of the red palettes, used it once, but that was it. I miss the 9 pan palettes- they were great! My fav was Quintessence ( still use it) 😢 😊
Thanks for watching! I wonder if all of their deep red and pink releases are meant to target deeper skin tones? But then at the same time they’ll release a new foundation that doesn’t go passée a b40 so who knows 😂
Hi Ali, ❤ The only Chanel product that doesn't work for me are the waterproof eye gel pencils. I have 2, I will continue to use them but I don't like the packaging. As I use them the gel stick colour just keep disappearing back down the tube. I will not be buying anymore, i prefer the ordinary pencils that you have to sharpen. 😊.
My worst from Chanel when I purchased those really hard to get Christmas kits from last year with the 3 lipglosses. The gold lipgloss had no sponge on the end to apply the lipgloss. I tried to return it they said no merci lol.
Sounds like Chanel had some quality control issues with the brow pencil. Maybe they should hire you, Alli! You could save the brand some serious money! Working retail for Chanel, you understand the Chanel customer better than anyone in upper management. I so agree with you on Chanel’s obsession with red eyeshadow. As soon as I saw the Spring 2023 eyeshadow/cheek palettes, I immediately thought they looked like those red eyeshadow palettes from a few years back. I couldn’t believe it! Other UA-camrs were raving about them, and I just shook my head thinking they looked like Lucia Pica’s repromotes! I guess that’s why I was excited for the Le Blanc collection, which actually looks like spring! Btw, the music you used when you showed all the red palettes is priceless! I laughed myself to tears!😂
Great video! Red eyeshadow may work in photo shoots. It may work if used ever so sparingly in everyday life for some skin tones. Or lightly dusting your red blush over part of your eyes to tie your look together. Even then red/coral/warm browns/red plum etc make me look ill or worse, like I was hit in the eye, if applied anywhere near my eyes. While Kristen Stewart may look beautiful in the photo, I am still not a fan of red eyeshadow on me or others in real life. There are better color choices.
This was a fun vid! Laughed at the old leathered man comment!🥴. As a former CHANEL MU, I totally agree with most of ur assessments. Hated the powder lip duo also. The red eye shadows, ugh. Looks sickly. Le lion is in my bathroom as a very expensive air freshener! Ha. I do like and wear Gabrielle but yes, it’s body chemistry. Ur top reminds of my CHANEL uniform ? Love u, Ali and love ur knowledge on all things CHANEL. 🌹😘
I've watched so many of your videos, and I think this is a first for me: you actually made me guffaw, and twice! The scent description and the red montage -- so funny. 🤣 Thank you for mentioning the reds. My foray into the Chanel reds literally gave me red eyes, esp the Eros eye pencil -- and I love the other Chanel eye pencils but something about these red dyes gives me a bad reaction and my poor eyes crust over the following day. Ouch. If I had to pick a single worst item from the brand, I'd say it has been the Palette Essentielle. I bought one in Beige Medium, and I find all three of the creams in it too firm, dry, and difficult to use. I'll probably never buy another Chanel cream product after owning this one.
Oh gosh what a horrible reaction 😂 I'm glad other products don't make you feel the same. I agree somewhat with the Palette Essentiel, it's an item I never quite never knew what to do with it. Like you said, the creams are too dry.
What fun! I love the Ali vent! All the red needs to stop and why couldn't Le Lion have been wonderful ...I really wanted it to great but luckily first got a sample - ugh!
I’m dying! 🤣 The red eyeshadow music and then some of the comments are so funny! Please give us a taupe eyeshadow palette, Chanel, but with the creamy, satiny shadows from the old limited edition formulas, and don’t make it tweed and sell it for $88. I agree with you on these. I’ve had a few of their eyeliners break off and the whole bullet fell out, especially the crayon ones. I also had a foundation brush that lost all its bristles. Fortunately, they exchanged it. I will say that Chanel is still my favorite brand, and even though we’ve all had issues with some of their products, the dud list is not a very long list. Most of their products are stellar, which is why we all keep coming back! Their exclusifs fragrances are fantastic. The eyebrow gel is good. I love the cream bronzer and most of their lip products. I would like to see more light, cool colors in their lipsticks. They should take note of the limited edition stuff that sells out immediately. The big red palettes are still available on their website while the Le Blanc collection is mostly sold out.
I have only tried the correcteur concealer, but I hated it. Returned it the next day 😆 the spoolie coming off is definitely a no-go for a high end product. That happened with my wet n' wild brow pencil but I wasn't upset, it was 3 bucks 😆
I didn’t like Chanel quad shadow palettes during early 90’s. My recent item that I dislike is the cake eyeliner and a shadow combo, came with a mini sponge tip applicator and a brush eye liner that size of mini matches. I NEVER figured it out till today how to use it… mystery 😅
Allison, I could not agree with you more on these items. Most especially though the Chance Eau Vivre. That was terrible….yet I loved the others in the series. And I couldn’t agree with you more about Olivier Polge vs Jacques ….The father was THE BEST. Hands down. He even came in and improved Gabriel by creating The Essence. I also agree with you regarding the red eyeshadows and eyeliners… not good. And to add insult to injury the red dye in the formulations caused eye irritation in MANY people! Xoxo 😘
Funnily enough, I adored that eyeshadow primer! For some reason it was never sold here in the UK, so I had to rely on anyone I knew going to the US to get it for me. The one it was replaced by was excellent too, but has also been discontinued. I love Chance Eau Vive ... except that it has zero staying power! For that reason I've never bought it as I think it's a rip off. Totally agree about the red eyeshadow, I bloody hate it!! Surely someone at Chanel must realise they're flogging a dead horse?! In fact, the constant red eyeshadow has put me off Chanel somewhat, I think they've become boring and predictable - I'm finding myself drawn to other brands far more than Chanel these days. Sad really as I'm now in my mid 50s and have been buying Chanel since the late 1980s, it was always such an aspirational brand back then and I feel they are letting themselves and their loyal customers down.
I hate the two-ended eye shadow brushes. They break in two. I’ve taken them back for replacement before. The two-ended concealer brush has proven much sturdier, however. I also hate the new mascara that you push in to release. It pops out between uses, drying the mascara. I had a mascara k Ky a couple of months, not using it but a couple of times a week and made sure it was properly closed and it still clumped! I’m back to the wonderful, classic Le Volume again. Unfortunately, I’ve tried every one of the products you mentioned today other than the fragrance. I don’t like Chanel fragrance to much other than Paris Paris. I concur that every makeup product you featured is godawful. And the music for the red collections😂🤣
This is such a good salty and entertaining video dear Allison, and you look amazing, wow!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 Chanel, because being 4 yours here at UA-cam following you and other wonderful creators, i use a little bit Chanel here and there again, i was born in 1970, so bored by all our European stuff (live in The Netherlands) for decades i must say. But the last few years, they make progress!!! This most recent Delices nr. 68 quad, the blush from the same collection! The Mediterranean quad from last years spring, wow, glad i have a back up! Because they don't listen to us, limited is limited. Christmas 2019 they came with a quad, wow, Les Ornements de Chanel, why do they never bring these beauties back? And the Rêve de Camelia highlighter, glad i back up! And why in the world do they make bronzers with such a stupid colour range when the quality is so good, both the cream and the powder bronzers? I mean, still nothing for deeper/rich complexions and for the lighter skintones, all colours are to warm. Their answer? More of these colours in travel packaing instead of thinking about their shades... 🙃🙃and Allison, when there is a colour that suits you, the quality is wonderful. What also irritates me? With my sensitive skin? Still to much stuff/fragrance in their foundations, most. Even the no. 1 de Chanel, it's difficult, also with a very soft primer under it. The only foundation i love from them, is the Sublimage! And that Sublimage concealer is wonderful, it's not full coverage, but so beautiful, so elegant, impossible not making this one work! Red eyeshadow...😂😂😂😂😂😂is not elegant on most people with lighter complexion. It helps when they have brown eyes (not me), but these colours are made for our dear friends with deeper complexion, like my dear friend Chelsea from Glamgirlchelsea, all these type of colours, also the very bold dark bright pinks, it all looks so lovely on her!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 But no, not for fair, light and light to medium complexions, of course i also tried, and i want makeup to make me looks more elegant, more beautiful, besides the fact that i love to apply it, so i don't want to look like i cried an entire week, Allison. But that is my opinon. If a person with (very) light complexion who uses these colours on the eyes is irritated about my opinion, sorry! But you wished opinons. And every brand has a failure now and than on the other side, but these, mostly EU brands can't stop putting to much fragrance in their products, they make progress, but it's even more slow than Hourglass has to do with the gorgeous powder palettes for deeper skintones, slowly but surely Hourglass makes progress, not there yet, but at least they listened, as i was so angry, did not purchase their stuff a few years. That Chanel and other EU brands always ignore what we want, irritates me the most, i think! But there is more makeup! These were my thoughts and this is getting to long, sorry, dear Allison! Love a good salty fun video, thanks!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂 Have a wonderful day!!!!😘😘😘😘😘😘
Hi dear! Oh yes I agree, I wish that Chanel would stop putting so much fragrance in so much of their skincare. It causes so much irritation for so many people. And you’re right that a lot of the deeper reds and pinks are for deeper skin tones. But Chanel will come out with shades for deeper skin tones and then release and new concealer or foundation that doesn’t go passed a b50 so they don’t know how to be consistent 😂 and that just confuses their audience.
Agree! I hate this red eyeshadow obsession. It’s not going to happen Chanel! Add to the list the no.1 lip & cheek balm- overpriced for what it is, and the Les beiges healthy glow powder - the colours are off and it sits so obviously on top of the skin/foundation. My local Chanel beauty boutique closed down this week. I’ve always been obsessed with Chanel but strangely I’m kind of not upset they’re gone. Although the SA’s were friendly they were very stingy with samples and gifts and were pushy when it came to selling.
Great video Alli, thank you! 👌🙂 I would like to add an item to your list. It’s actually a product that I love so much that I tried to ignore the problem I had with its bottle. 🤦🏻♀️ It’s the Nr 1 Sérum-en-brume, a 2-phase spray. I loovee how it feels soft and moisturizing on my face, how it smells etc.. (not only me actually, my 8 yo sons also like using it after shower 😁🥰) right now I have the third bottle and every single time I bought it, the spraying part just got clogged after a couple of weeks 😕 I tried hot water and some other methods, but nothing helped. Now, after the third bottle, I am not sure anymore about repurchasing it 😕 can Chanel not use better quality spray so that it won’t be clogged?! 🤷🏻♀️
The red MUST stop! And I cannot make the Warm Memories quad work.....and of course it's permanent versus the Elemental quad that launched the same collection 😢
I don't have many Chanel products, but for years I haven't been able to find a substitute for Chanel's eyebrow pencil in Clair Blond, so I keep repurchasing it and it's quite embarrassing. Because, to be honest, the quality of the pencil is terrible - it's dry and keeps breaking off while I try to sharpen it, and sometimes the different parts of the pencil are falling apart (I remember that you also mentioned it in a video a while ago). Sadly, I haven't found yet a dupe in terms of the color, but I hope I will, eventually. Because it's just not worth it.
@@AllisonChase Exactly - it's almost impossible to believe that this light ashy-grey-brownish colour would be hard to find, but it is! I wouldn't mind buying it also in the future if only the quality would improve...
😂 shoving red eyeshadow down our throats. That's how I feel about brown eyeshadow pallets. Im 61 and don't care what others think about my unconventional look. It took me 61 years to get to this point and I'm loving it! 😂
Although I still love canduer collections and warm memories, intensité palettes, there is one red shadow regret for me. It’s the liquid red shadow. The formula is so poor, it’s patchy sticky 😢😢 😢 The multi red palettes are, just a very bad idea. I didn’t like the formula when I tested it at the store 😢
I paused to comment and this may be an unpopular opinion, but I was so disappointed in their Le Rouge Duo liquid lipsticks. To me, they felt just like any other liquid lipstick. I think liquid lipsticks are just not for me.😢 😢😢
When Chanel came out with red eyeshadow I thought it was quite innovative. Now I look at it an think it’s an easy pass. I am not interested. Who is buying? I don’t thing Chanel cares. Thanks for doing this video. ☺️
Oh my goodness, I'm so gad you mentioned the red eyeshadow!!!! It's insane... And for Chanel? Normally so classy and understated and then the red eyeshadow comes in and you're just confused 😂 To me, the worst ever purchase from Chanel remains Coco Mademoiselle Privee. Such a waste of money. I love all versions of Coco, but that one is literally non detectable on me. I could spray the whole bottle and it would make no difference 😭
I never understood the Chanel les beiges healthy glow powder, just because the hard pan right after 1 or 2 uses and the ugly and hole in the pan. Nothing luxury.
I must admit, I do like Gabrielle and Essence version even more. Yes, I agree red, red, red, red every frickin where 😂😂😂. Hate red and them new red jumbo pallette. No thanks
LOL red eyeshadows = factory rejects. What a perfect description!!!! I hate red eyeshadows with a passion, I don’t own any from any brand. I did however get the new oversized Chanel Tendresse face/eye palette and have to say I really like the 2 red colours as blushes. The light brown is a nice subtle bronzer and/or eyeshadow on me and the apricot colour is lovely on the eyes, it doesn’t pull too warm. It’s a bit like the light orangey colour in the Tisse Vendome palette (which I don’t have anymore). I hope Chanel starts releasing some more cool toned products and also bring back some old favourites that everyone loved (hello les indispensables 9 pan palette). Honestly they should have all the sales data to know what is popular….and last “request” is that they stop making all the best products limited edition. Enough with the need for buying frenzies!!! Thanks for the great video @Alli, I thoroughly enjoyed it and had a really good laugh (including a snort 😂)
You are so welcome Nicole! It's interesting that the Le Blanc collection sold out instantly but the oversized palettes are still available online and in many stores 🙊
@@AllisonChase Yes absolutely, it is very telling indeed! No more red stuff please Chanel - everyone has enough red from past collections (or nothing red) as it’s not flattering on 99% of people. Chanel lovers want classic makeup that enhances natural beauty. There is no universe where red eyeshadow does this!!!
I’m so with you on the red eyeshadow pallets! I’m beyond over it!! Rabbit eyes do not look cute on anyone, sorry. Also, I am not a fan of the new oversized pallets either. Too big, not travel-friendly, and I just don’t see the point.
I totally agree about the Chanel obsession with red eye shadow. That is not a look for women outside of the runway. That is why I did not purchase the spring 2023 decade palette and I am assuming many Chanel fans who bought it have buyers remorse.
I think so. But, I think these deeper red and pink shades are more suited for deeper skin tones. The problem is that Chanel is so inconsistent that they’ll come out with those face and eye palettes and also come out with a foundation that doesn’t go passed a b40….
I have never seen such an ugly campaign as this recent red 4 pan eye/face quad. Even the model was hideous. She looked like a horror movie reject. In fact I think the new popularity of blue tones in eye liner and shadow is simply a big sigh of relief. I have been saying for the past 10 years that red eye shadow is the ugliest makeup trend I've seen in my life. And I'm a lot older than you are. It's finally time somebody said something. Thank you. Happy Friday!💚
Hi Ally, I look stoned if I use any red eyeshadow on my eyes no thank you never understood thus look to be honest with you Ally. Thank you for your honesty ❤ Fantastic video, thank you 😊 Take Care. Gill 🇬🇧 xoxo 😘😘
@@AllisonChase Not again!! When will this nightmare end? I actually haven't bought anything from Chanel since the Tweed palettes last autumn, that's how bad I think their offerings have been.
I am with you al the way. The eye shadow primer did not work for me. And red Eye shadow NOT for me I don't even like it on other people. So there!!!. XOXO
How disappointing Chanel not only made more red eye shadow but in a jumbo palette. It felt like a joke. Not interested at all. Too bad the pretty le blanc collection is so hard to find.
Not infuriated one bit - I wish Chanel would listen. I don’t want to wear the color red on my eyes - it’s not flattering. Not even on Kristen Stewart, and she has a perfect face. So do you. Every brand has hits and misses, but I think most of us are tired of seeing a red-leaning red eyeshadow palette! I wasn’t inspired by the new Les Beiges launch - it wasn’t exciting. At least not for me.
*The long awaited video is finally here: the worst items I’ve used from Chanel. What are some of your most disappointing products from the brand?*

I can‘t agree more with the red eyeshadows. I hate it too even though I love Chanel makeup. I only hope someone from Chanel will hear us.
I hope so too 😂
LOVE your eye look! The light color on your lids looks awesome! Your skin looks flawless and this look is very youthful and natural! Best I’ve seen on UA-cam in a long time!!!!

Thanks for this - it’s great! ❤. I am sick of red as well. I didn’t even think about purchasing. As I am much older, I remember another red and black eyeshadow palette which I think had a clear gloss which you could put on top. It was awful. I think it came out early 00’s.

I personally never loved the correctors - I found it packed on too much product with a concealer overtop. I prefer to go in with a peachy concealer.
Great video! I hope Chanel is watching and taking notes.
I hope so too!
I agree with all of these. My spoolie fell off my eyebrow pencil as well. The color and texture are perfect for me though so I put up with using a separate spoolie.
Really? I guess it wasn't just one factory defect then.
Red eyeshadow is very high fashion but not for us mere mortals shopping for groceries.
Soooo true about the red eyeshadow 😅 even if you like the whole pallet and there is red again and again you will change your mind !
Exactly! They always have to sneak one in there 😂
This was fun! Thanks for posting 💗💗💗
My pleasure!
You look absolutely so pretty today I love the black and white and I love that video as well
Thanks Louise 💓
I'm not agree with you about the Chance Eau Vive. For me is one of my favorite fragrance, and I don't think is '"mediocre" at all.
That’s fair! Perfume is very personal, on me it’s invisible.
Interesting! That gives me hope because the original just does not work for me.
The eyebrow pencil never worked for me- left little white residue flakes which drove me crazy. I switched to the eyebrow gel in blonde and it works perfectly - even though I have red hair and freckles. 👍🏻
That sounds super annoying. I'm glad you found a replacement.
My pleasure. At least we’ll save some money.
I cannot understand anybody wanting a red eyeshadow unless your going to a fancy dress party at Halloween 🫤👻
Same! lol
I love this Ally! 😅 I got one of the new Face palettes and indeed, returned it.. redundant .. disappointing. So agree! Enough with the red eyeshadows!
I'm glad you could get your money back!
@@AllisonChase Nordstroms has the best return policy!
I agree with you about the red eye shadow. It makes me look like I'm sick or have pink eye. It's awful!
Same!
Hi with your recommendation of Tom Ford bronzer I purchased it and love it thank you
Isn't it so good?
Ooooh I like zesty Allison! My Chanel fail are their liquid eyeshadows in general, so thick and patchy when you try to blend it out! What a waste of money 💸💸💸
I'm glad you enjoyed it! The video, not the liquid eyeshadow 😂
I remember some old dry powdery eye shadow quints back in the day. Five rectangular shades in a small size package (not one of those larger palettes). I may still have one of those palettes around I think in a green color story. I don’t recall the name though.
Oh yeah I think I remember those. Was it a holiday release?
@@AllisonChase I don’t remember but that’s possible. Definitely Fall/winter colors.
It could be!
I agree with your choices. I am not a fan of the baume essentialle's- just dont work with my skin, its like putting lip balm on my cheekbones and it never dries down! I just bought one of the red palettes, used it once, but that was it. I miss the 9 pan palettes- they were great! My fav was Quintessence ( still use it) 😢 😊
Yes! I miss those 9 shadow palettes too. One of them had a red shadow but other colours too.
@@AllisonChase thats true, thats the quintessence one I have- just realised it- they snuck that red in! He he
This was a great twist on Chanel. I agree with the reds. Chanel 😂😂enough with the reds lol. This was great. I enjoyed it .
That’s fair 😁
My worst from Chanel when I purchased those really hard to get Christmas kits from last year with the 3 lipglosses. The gold lipgloss had no sponge on the end to apply the lipgloss. I tried to return it they said no merci lol.
What? That is so rude 💔
Terrible I went to my Chanel counter and they gave me free applicators but they were disposable and they wouldn’t fit in the tube. Very disappointing
I'm glad I could make you laugh! If you hated the spring oversized palettes, hold on tight for the fall release.
I totally agree. It's a fun, high fashion look and an occasional everyday look.
Thank you Yvonne! That's a very fancy bathroom refresher 😂
I've watched so many of your videos, and I think this is a first for me: you actually made me guffaw, and twice! The scent description and the red montage -- so funny. 🤣
Thank you for mentioning the reds.
That goodness! Could you imagine bling buying that one 😳
That is so true! And a lot of counters still have tons of their oversized red eyeshadow palettes.
I have only tried the correcteur concealer, but I hated it. Returned it the next day 😆 the spoolie coming off is definitely a no-go for a high end product. That happened with my wet n' wild brow pencil but I wasn't upset, it was 3 bucks 😆
Ha! Exactly 💔
It’s still a mystery 😂
I LOVE the cake eyeliner and shadow. I wish Channel would release a cake mascara again
Xoxo 😘
Eau Vive just has no staying power on me whatsoever 😂 I wish Jacques would come back, he created such amazing scents.
@@AllisonChase I couldn’t agree with you more Allison! 💗
I totally agree. I think they're trying to capture a younger audience that can't afford the brand so they'll have to see where they land in 5 years.
When they changed the eyeshadow primer formula they ruined it. I stopped buying it when they changed from the squeeze tube to this diseaster.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😂
That’s fair! I your local Sephora stays open.
Omg the red eyeshadow parade 😂😅🤣
😌😌😌
The worst for me is the lip powder. Yasss girl. I tried to love it but yeah. It didn't work for me. Oh yes the eyebrow too.
Thanks for sharing!! ❤❤
Oh that’s so annoying! I hate when that happens because you can just see the product inside waiting to be used 😩
The red MUST stop! And I cannot make the Warm Memories quad work.....and of course it's permanent versus the Elemental quad that launched the same collection 😢
Elemental 💔💔💔
I can't make the warm memories pallet work either.
Sometimes the waterproof eyeliner itself comes apart into 2 pieces and this has happened more than once. I don't know why I still buy them.
Oh my gosh that’s awful.
That colour is so unique, it's a shame the quality of the eyebrow pencil is so crappy.
@@AllisonChase Exactly - it's almost impossible to believe that this light ashy-grey-brownish colour would be hard to find, but it is! I wouldn't mind buying it also in the future if only the quality would improve...
Such an interesting video 👍💖🌷
Thanks!
Unpopular opinion here...I was really disappointed in the Water Fresh Tint and Blush...patchy, streaky
No unpopular at all, I've heard from a few people that they couldn't make that blush work for them.
😂 shoving red eyeshadow down our throats. That's how I feel about brown eyeshadow pallets. Im 61 and don't care what others think about my unconventional look. It took me 61 years to get to this point and I'm loving it! 😂
I love that! And that’s how everyone should feel, wear what every you like ❤️

The multi red palettes are, just a very bad idea. I didn’t like the formula when I tested it at the store 😢
I didn't even touch the formula at the store 🤣🤣🤣
I paused to comment and this may be an unpopular opinion, but I was so disappointed in their Le Rouge Duo liquid lipsticks. To me, they felt just like any other liquid lipstick. I think liquid lipsticks are just not for me.😢 😢😢

That’s fair! I think we all got very excited when a new version of Mademoiselle came out 😂
I don’t like the eyebrow pencil either
💔💔💔
I never understood the Chanel les beiges healthy glow powder, just because the hard pan right after 1 or 2 uses and the ugly and hole in the pan. Nothing luxury.
Oh that’s true. Those can get gross really fast.
They also user to have a lash powder that made my mascara fall off in little pieces in my eyes. Nightmare
That sounds horrendous 😂
Agree 1000% about the red eye shadow. Awful and the opposite of what those who can afford Chanel want.
Yes 🙌🏼
⚠️Beware: The new shade of Chanel nail polish, "Watermelon" is VERY sheer. Should be called "Watery Melon". Seriously, it has ruined my Spring ☹️

I must admit, I do like Gabrielle and Essence version even more. Yes, I agree red, red, red, red every frickin where 😂😂😂. Hate red and them new red jumbo pallette. No thanks
Same, the Essence is nicer on me too than the original.
Ninja turtles mask 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, red eyeshadow look so bad on me, I look like I am on drugs, no thanks
It's a non merci for me too! 💔🤣
I hate the red eyeshadow. Maybe it was trendy for awhile thanks to the Modern Renaissance palette, but not now.
I agree, it's been done to death.
I’m so with you on the red eyeshadow pallets! I’m beyond over it!! Rabbit eyes do not look cute on anyone, sorry. Also, I am not a fan of the new oversized pallets either. Too big, not travel-friendly, and I just don’t see the point.
I like the concept of the oversized palettes but not with those shades 😂
Oh I know! I feel so bad for that model because it's her first major campaign but the makeup looks atrocious.

How disappointing Chanel not only made more red eye shadow but in a jumbo palette. It felt like a joke.
Not interested at all.
Too bad the pretty le blanc collection is so hard to find.
Right? They really stopped the ball with that one
