This introduction song to D2:LOD reminds me of being in 7th and 8th grade during the summer. Sitting playing D2 upstairs and looking outside watching the sunset, knowing I was about to spend the next 6 hours playing my favorite game of all-time, with amazing friends I met online. One of the best feelings man.
Not only the game but the soundtracks what made this game unforgettable. Man, experiencing this game as a kid... and still nothing came close to that feeling.

Back when blizzard music was eerie, mesmerizing, and utterly memorable. Topnotch quality in fx/sound effects too. Nothing will ever come close to the first two games in this franchise.
What i like the most about Blizzard is that every game has an amazing story behind it. The main story of Diablo is so amazing that a movie should be shot about it. Uelman's composed music is also the backbone of the game. As if Matt Uelman practically went into the game and lived it...
56:11 Lyrics translation Harem: I bow to the one who has lotus in her hand, has a pleasant happy face, who gives good fortune and destiny, gives refuge (fearlessness) with her hand (posture), who is adorned with lots of gems and other ways, who gives the very much desired fruits to the devotees, is attended upon by viShNu, shiva, brahmA and others, behind whom are lotus, conch and other opulence and who is always with power.
I’ll never go out of my way to play the remake of the greatest game ever, but I will for that sweet OST. This and AoE are the two OST’s that live rent free in my head.
This intro song carries me on a timeless journey, like a TP that swiftly transports me back to an era where I stood before a majestic hunk of beige machinery, humming with the essence of Windows 98. Oh, how vividly it feels, as if yesterday's echoes resound, the symphony of my inventory items gracefully falling with each click after clicking a link. They're echoes filling my ears, only to witness another player swiftly collecting them all. Good times.
This game and this soundtrack will live in the memories of a generation. It's been over 20 years we can remember the days when nothing mattered, no worries, no deadlines, just the thrill of adventure into the depths of hell, searching for loot and jumping for excitement at the words.. "Diablo Walks the Earth"
Other commenters are right this version is extremely high quality thank you. Me: I don't want remakes. Also me: I just want it for the sound. That wilderness. I didnt play diablo 2 back then, but still I love this music and feel a kind of pseudonostalgia for the age of early modern games. And now I play Resurrected in both old and new graphics and both are fantastic. And really cool is that the new graphics keeps the style feeling of late 90th - early 2000th

The soundtrack from the 4th city is delightful, the 2nd, 1st and Harem are cool too. But to be honest, I didn't notice the difference between the sound of the tracks from the original and the remaster of the game.
That's because the music isn't remastered, it's just the original music. It's not even as good as the music from the D2 OST CD - the music from that CD is of higher quality than the FLAC files linked in the description. There is quite a significant difference in quality. This is Blizzard so you can't expect more than the minimum effort when it comes to remasters.
@yosharian To be fair, Resurrected was not a low effort remaster. I'm no longer a blizzard fan boy as I was during the golden age of Diablo 2 and LOD, but we have to give kudos where they are earned.
Yup, they just upsampled the bitrate, no real improvement. I would even say the quality is much more of a downgrade. As a reference you should compare the original OST of "Lair" and this one. Seems like they just threw all songs through a machine without even proof-listening.
This game was insanely popular back in the early 2000s all my older brother friends were playing it. Addicted to it like crack. Then I tried it, I understood immediately why. Haven't played D4. No way they can ever get back to that level unfortunately.

Half the time the new models and textures look worse, or completely different. It's like a slap in the face to all the original graphic artists who worked on the games. It's like you're saying the original games looked like shit, so we have to re-design them now. Did Diablo 2 really age that much? Did it even look bad? No. Did it even need to be remastered?
