Hi Richard, Its great to see you back doing more car testing, iv`e always been a fan of your road test video`s, put together in your own personal, friendly and informative way, shame the new Focus doesn`t seem to break any new ground like the original 1998 Focus did...
06:08 "Long first gear", it's a slightly strange 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear, there is no indication of what gear you are in when in D mode, you can see the gear if you switch to M mode. I notice that when you pull away in 1st, and it changes gear, if you press M, it says M3, so 3rd gear. If you manually change to 2nd gear, the ratio is very similar to 3rd gear. I think the car changed from 1st to 3rd when you pull away, you do not hear 2 gear changes to get to 3rd, only 1. No complaints, just a bit different.
Iain in my 2016 focus automatic, I find it very hard to manouver in narrow parking spots because the car accelerates from 0 to 1-2 or 3 km/h very gruffly. So when I park, I go back and forward very awkward, braking and shaking...is that the same with yours?
No, parking is fine, the only thing is you need to be at, or very close to stopped when you change from drive to reverse, otherwise the gear doesn’t engage. But that’s big deal. Regarding the gearbox, what I found was 2nd and 3rd gear are practically the same, the ratio is so close you hardly even know it’s changed. Again no big deal, just the fact it’s 8 speed but you can only count 7 gears when axcerelating.
Ford Focus 1.5 Petrol ST-Line 150 is clearly the one to go for. BP Ultimate Petrol, K&N Panel Filter and a Bluefin Handset Remap. Should leave it sitting around 200-205 BHP. (that's hot hatch territory with around 40-45MPG combined driving styles) £22k assuming you don't get carried away with too many extras :)
@sclol707 Yeah seen that. However since it's the same engine, it makes more financial sense to go for the 150 if planning on remapping the ECU anyway. That way you save a bit of money on dealer list price and insurance. Should be plenty capable of 200/210 BHP I'd imagine. Loving the car so far! Just waiting for Bluefin/Superchips to release the handset map.
Your fuel consumption is way off . I've got the ecoblue 8 gear auto ( I'm an amputee) and the best I get is 38.7 mpg every day driving . On a recent trip to Glasgow I achieved 51 mpg motorway driving. Hardley ever go on motorway so 38.7 is my average. But to be fair I drive it like I stole it 😁
Hi mate great video im planning on getting this car ordering it on monday in the 1.5tdci really wanted to ask what you think about the automatic gearbox or is it better off going for the manual
Hello. The eight-speed automatic gearbox is a big improvement over the six-speed dual-clutch Powershift in the previous generations. But it does make the car a bit thirstier, so it depends on the type of driving you mostly do, and whether you're prepared to pay extra for the convenience of the automatic. The manual works very well, and unless you're stuck in traffic every day, you might prefer to save your money and go for that.
@@BusinessCarVideo Cheers mate i appreicate it a lot i think ive made my mind up automatic it is due to the fact i do be stuck in quite a bit of traffic on the way to work 😂😂
Haaych Blockten Gday mate I'm getting one to in 5weeks.in hatch and silver 1.5 turbo engine is great and in automatic can't wait please tell me wht u think of focus.thanks Joe
If this dude was any closer to the tiller, he'd have a wheel as a snack at his desire while driving. I can't trust anyone that sits that close to the dashboard.
No rear armrest, cupholders, ventilation, usb.... So how can practicality in the rear be 'really good' ? No mention of a spare wheel either? These details matter to people who have to cough up their own money.
The Kia Ceed has a much nicer interior, better equipped and also has the longer warranty included. The Focus might be great to drive but it’s not the be all and end all tbh.
Also the Focus is a bit better when it comes to cabin-noise :) Interior is also nicer in the Titanium trim if you ask me, I don't like that weird looking carbon thing on the dashboard, also for families, the Ford has more legroom (quite alot) :D Both are rly rly nice cars tho, and the Kia has more boot space, and DCT in the KIA is so fast switching it's amazing :D
sheeples forget the overated kraut machines or the nips stuff ..focus is the only hatchback you need..and you heard it from a car hating person with 40 years yes 40 years driving..... the drives breathtaking ..like glue around corners[I had a golf which ended up in a river..i only went fricking fishing[[ focus tops end of....
“If you’re after something that’s not German” ... really? This car is built in Saarlouis, Germany 🇩🇪.
I noticed that lol. Ironically, it's one of this car's biggest draws.
No such thing as a American Ford in the uk

I guess it is kinda off topic but do anyone know a good place to stream new movies online?
@Trent Kamden lately I have been using flixzone. Just google for it =)
@Zachary Zain Yea, been using FlixZone for since march myself =)
@Zachary Zain thanks, I signed up and it seems to work =) Appreciate it!
@Trent Kamden You are welcome xD
(1:34) As someone who is blinded by sun bouncing off chrome trim, I welcome the dark and non reflective trim

What's the Vignale model like compared to the st line-x (other than the leather seats)?

Diesel is loud? On the inside, outside, when warmed up, on the motorway??? Very vague review. It’s not German? Thought it was made in Germany?
we all know he meant that as in "not a german brand"
