- On the 28th April, Year 7 pupils were treated to a visit from some animals and critters of the rainforest.
Peter, a ranger from the company Zoolab visited the humanities department and brought along a giant African Land Snail, 2 Madagascan Giant Cockroaches, A Tarantula from Chile and a Constrictor Snake from Brazil.
Students learnt about which layer of the rainforest the animals lived in and how they had adapted to their environment. Pupils overcame their fears as they touched the animals and some brave students even held the animals! All students engaged with the day and behaved impeccably, asking relevant questions and showing great manners during the presentations
“We work with our animals to create fun and engaging learning experiences that get complex ideas across, Pupils get to see the relevance of animals to us as human beings and to understand our place on this planet. From topics such as rainforest, to habitats and classifications, pupils are taken on a voyage of discovery to deepen and broaden their knowledge and fire their enthusiasm” - Zoolab
