After seeing these on you in the pictures, I'm sold! I'm going to buy myself a pair! Thank you for the excellent review! You were far more thorough than any other reviewer and your sizing tips are far more important to me than what the shank is made of or what the sole is exactly made of, you are more practical than the other reviewers! Thanks!
Excellent review!! I loved your explanation and thoroughness of each facet of the boot from production to various components as well as the history and company behind the boot. Very well done THANK YOU!
I love hearing you describe how the leather hide is split and prepared as well as the tumbling process! 👍 Thorogood manufactures very handsome boots IMHO.
Thanks! EXCELLENT REVIEW! Thanks for the sizing and ordering tips! Your review was the best on UA-cam! They looked great on you so I'm getting them from Amazon. Subbed!
Thank you for this wonderful video my friend. I am looking at these and maybe Thorogood Wellingtons. Great boots. Thank you again and please keep the videos coming.
Strangely enough, I bought the 8 inch version of this in 8.5EE, not knowing my Brannock measurements but just going with my sneaker size which is a US 9-9.5. I found out recently that I’m actually an 8E in Brannock measurement. That being said, they fit me really well I think on account of the removable insoles they come with. Snug around the ball and very negligible heel slippage. I got lucky.
I've got about 2,500 hard warehouse work hours into mine. Amazingly the man made components have held up extremely well and show no real signs of wear.
Polyurethane (PU) is used in more durable running shoes, particularly those for heavier runners. It is generally heavier and stiffer than EVA as well as more durable which may or may not be an advantage. Some variations like New Balance NCap cushioning had a PU outer and EVA core, the idea being that the PU provides the support and the EVA softer cushioning. One potential big drawback of PU is that it can develop micro cracks which are vulnerable to bacteria when they get wet. This can cause the infamous ammonia/cat pee smell which is impossible to get rid of. Manufacturers might have developed ways to mitigate this but I have certainly experienced it with several pairs of running shoes that were best left outside after use because they smelled quite strong.
Cobblers spray industrial clear vinegar inside the boots to neutralize those odors, one part vinegar one part water, or just use a lint free rag. Worked on my old work boots. Should work on the outsole as well.
You’re right there not a uk site boot style and I’ve come to the conclusion there too nice so they’ll be a casual boot , I also bought some timberland boon docks which I have been wearing on site very comfortable 👍
Hey, do you know if there's any difference between the Thorogood 814 or the 804? I want the 814 but they're always out of stock. The 804s are in stock in my size but I don't know if there's a difference in appearance?
Could you imagine wearing a pair of boots for 2 weeks and deciding to return them to Amazon? How does one explain to Amazon why it’s okay to wear a boot for half a month and try to return them. That’s crazy.
I'm so close to buying these, but I want to get the Midnight Series version (814 - 6206), black leather and black sole. Would you use the same products to care for them as the brown leathers?
I have 2-pairs of these in the 8-inch. One moc toe and one plain toe. Fit was true to size for me. Got both for sale prices under 200 USD. Could not find the 6-inch ones that low......I use these boots as recovery boots after wearing more traditional service boots and PNW boots. When my feet are sore and tired from some of my other boots, I wear these for a day to recover. They actually feel like tennis shoes from what I remember them feeling like as I have not owned tennis shoes for many years. Other than comfort, they are really underwhelming compared to my Red Wing moc toe boots. Quality and materials are well below Red Wing quality. Have an 8-inch pair of the Thorogood Flyway brown Briar Pitstop work hunting boots. Better leather on that model. A little on the warm side in higher heat due to the waterproof lining.
Hi, another great video.. I wear size 8G with RM Williams.. What size would you recommend for these Thorogood Heritage boots to try ? Any advise would be much appreciated :)
For me RMW is very narrow and I run half size up from TTS. My Brannock is US8.5D which is RMW7.5G. But that’s too snug for me so I wear RMW8G or US9D. But Thorogood is half down from TTS but narrow so I go US8E. Clear as mud? 🤣🤣🤣
@@Bootlosophy ah I see.. much thanks 😊. It’s always challenging to guesstimate the right sizing without trying the actual boots first. Sharing your experience is valuable 🙏. May be you can come out with a @Bootlosophy Sizing Guide for all boots you review in the future.😊😬
Interesting. On mine, if you part the seam with a butter knife you clearly see the raw edges of two pieces of leather. Also, in my research, I wrote to Thorogood and they confirmed the stitch sews together the top of the vamp and the side walls. I had to rely on the makers in my research.

I've seen many Thorogood boot reviews because I own many Thorogood boots and your review is up there with the best!! ...keep up the good work. 👍
New to the channel! Very informative!! I look forward to watching more of your videos!
Thank You for sharing. Love the classics.
These are my go-to work boots! They’re light and squishy inside, like sneakers. Definitely an American Classic!

👍👢👍 Thinking about getting a pair.

I haven’t seen too many UK builders wearing moc toes on the building site, what will you be wearing them for?

Love the videos sir. Wanted to ask, what type of fit are the pants you modeled these in?
Thank you Sir. I think they are slim fits

Definitely don’t use mink oil, my Thorogoods went super dark super fast.
I think they are not real moc toe construction. The toe leather is one piece with decorated stiching. Same like Nick's moc.
Check with Thorogood
@@Bootlosophy I got one and can be clearly seen that toe is in one piece. Unlike 875 where the toe is constructed with 2 pieces of leather.

I’ve just rechecked their email and it says “prior to 2017” so I think the newer ones are single piece?
@@mrchor5389 wouldn’t that make them even more durable?
