For others to know, my little baby had turned 18 years of age last March, lost a lot of weight, can hardly walk until a new groomer advised me to feed him puppy canned food, a little expensive and very hard to find plus a high caloric supplement, he liked it very much, in 2 days after observing the effect, he now is able to walk and wonder around to my surprise. sprite juice if you don't get it on the back of the tongue they will spit anything you give them up , even if they like it . It's just their reaction to putting something in their mouth. Cats are much harder than dogs to give things to

I have been using a warm water compress twice a day for two weeks, on my cats burst abscess. Today will be the 6th day I am also adding Collasate Silver Topical Dressing, per my Vet's instructions. I can't tell if it is still draining or finished. I was told by my Vet's Technician it could take a while, more than the 5 - 7 days I always see on the online sites. Does it sound like I am doing the correct treatment?

I broke it off but half stayed on because it would have ripped his skin. It's off now and it's just a wound. I rinsed the wound out and put some medihoney into the wound then a band-aid on it . But the whole is getting bigger and it's still got puss in it??. What do I do with it
Hi doc my yorkie had a pimple like on her face under her left eye, I popped it and now it's open. It's been a year now. Still not healed I've been putting bacitracin collagen particles and change it to dog wound treatment that you buy in pet stores but still doesnt heal. It's just bleeding even it forms to scab it just covers the small wound and when you take out the scab it's still open.

However, it seems to have popped up again. Why did this recur after it healed? Does she need oral antibiotics? I think the vet here is closed due to coronavirus, and I’ve been laid off of work because of it.
It can recur if there is still something else present ( ie a nail). Any chance someone can give some local anesthetic and lance it if you are unable to see a vet.

He has a swollen boil-looking mass around the anus. I think it is an impacted anal gland or sac. I was told from a vet that surgery (Just cutting it open) will cost $600. I don't have the money for that right now. How can I treat this on my own and not hurt my dog doing it. Epsom salts was a recommended treatment. I sprayed an epsom salts solution onto the affected area and the dog yowled. Making me think he was in pain from the salt burning the wound. The vet claims the epsom salts wouldn't hurt. I disagree. What are your thoughts Andrew? Is there a mud treatment that would sooth and draw out the pus and other toxins from the swollen mass? What should I do? I don't have $ 600 for the vet, so I really need your help. Sometimes he cries out when defecating... so I know the abscess is painful to him. 2 weeks ago I tried spraying epsom salt solution on the swollen anal area, on the closed abscess. It must have burned him, because he growled and postured himself against me. He may have bitten me if not for the muzzle.
