Thank you for sharing, it helps to hear everyone's journey. I'm in Australia and start my practice nurse journey tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous, but I'm looking forward to new beginnings ❤
It’s so annoying when people say ‘oh if you go work there then you’ll deskill’! Every area of nursing has its own set of skills so you’re always upskilling and learning new things anyway, that’s the beauty of nursing ☺️
Sounds like your doing a great job Claire 👍 Well done. I love working in practice. Best nursing job I have done yet xxx Hope your foot is getting better
Hi Claire, sending you get well wishes with your foot, I hope you recover soon :) Glad you are settling in and taking on new challenges, upskilling is amazing and its so lovely to see how passionate you are about your job, just what the NHS needs:) Can I ask , are all nurses and healthcare staff still required to wear face masks at all times during duty? xx
I've been told the GP practice I'm going to are jack of all trades, doing immunisations, vaccinations, smear tests, diabetes, Covid though there are some urology and vascular treatments as well and since the placement I have just finished in urol and vasc, nervous but looking forward to it.
100% right there 😂 you have to know little bits of everything for GP nursing. But it’s great because of that variety :) Aw I hope you have an amazing placement there. You’ll get so much signed off too! X
I’m not planning on it to be honest. I thought about it a while back but decided against it :) it’s not really where I see myself. But surgeries do offer it. My surgeries have all been keen for me to do it because it benefits the surgery and patients :) x
Hello, hope you are enjoying your new post😊. Are all general practices nurse jobs strict 9-5, Monday to Friday jobs or is there flexibility in terms of the hours and days?
Do you mind telling me how much they pay you as Gpn i am considering to move to GPN rôle coming from community nursing am just curious about the monthly salary
It really depends on the clinic. Every single clinic has a completely different Salary :( I’ve been lucky to get a bit more, I started off on £15 an hour as a NQN which was amazing! But others have got about £12 an hour. X
Hi Claire, Hope u r doing very well! I came to UK and started Master in health n social care. Remember me? You suggested me some tips for interview 😀 I wanna meet you if possible for u ?
