I'd try this bike as for reliability concerns it'll work its self out. I was around in the early nineties when light cc ninjas were burning up left and right this won't be any different. They'll get better as time goes on. One thing for sure, the big four better get on their game.
The big 4 won't have anything to worry about. Cfmoto price point is just a tad lower then bikes that have years and years of development. If the price was a 1/4 of the big four then yeah I could see that.
8 months in the future here. it is a very reliable bike, definitely squares up to yamaha r3 and ninja 400 out in the streets, but maybe not in the track, though who goes to the track anyways? the biggest concern you have is availability and convenience of getting parts depending on how much cfmoto dealerships you have around you, that's the turning point in choosing between those brands
@@typing.....................no, more like -- many of us CRAAAAVE *this size crossplane platform* in reasonable price CFMOTO is the 1st to make a CROSSPLANE inline-2 in 450 class
Wow! Nice machine. The Australian price is the same as the Ninja 400 though. If CFMOTO want to break the market, they're going to have to make sure that they explain that they're offering more than an older, trusted brands.
it does offer a lot more. it's loaded with features that the ninja 400 doesn't have i.e. better brakes, tft display and so on. the only thing is that the ninja 400 is still a more refined, connected and dialed in riding experience especially for the track. but i would say 99% of the riders i know have never been and would never be on the track. in that scenario, i feel like cfmoto offers a lot more for the street riding experience, especially if you use your bike for your daily commute and not just for fun. the only elephant in the room for now is aftermarket support. cfmoto is still building up dealerships so the timeliness and convenience of getting spare parts is definitely the biggest turn-off compared to established brands like yamaha and kawasaki. the cfmoto 450ss is really appealing to me but don't get me wrong, i still ride a ninja 400 because i'm a shorter rider and the ninja 400 is the only sport bike i could get that would naturally support my height. even the r3 makes me tip toe sadly lol, i know it's easy to ride bigger bikes with one leg off but since it's my daily commuter i like the feeling of being able to flat foot when backing my bike in.
Only thing that the Ninja is better at is having replaceable OEM parts more assessable in America. Besides that the 450SS has it beat in every other aspect including price, speed and performance. And this is coming from a large consensus, search Ninja 400 vs 450ss on youtube

Hi. Can I please ask, I've got a new 450 about a month ago and I was wondering do you get a uncomfortable clunk or thud when you change gears? The gear thud or clunk is worse on down shifts. Does your bike do this on gear changes? I've taken the bike back to the dealers and they tell me this is normal. Do you get the same thing?
A common problem that people do is that when filling oil levels, they do it when the bike is lifted (standing straight). Put the bike on its stand (leaning) and make sure the oil level is at minimum. People over look that when reading the manual.
Slightly more performance and much more features for slightly less money.... intriguing, but not ready to spend my money. Reliability is still unknown. Based on chinese car quality, I am not interested unless they cut the price in half. Japanese beginners' sports bikes have strong resale value. 3,4 years down the line, I can still sell them and get a decent amount of my money back. For chinese bike to be the same, it has to prove itself. It needs to have enough sales to force massive development in after-market parts for riders who seek different needs. It needs to be bulletproof like japanese bikes and get brand recognition for its resale value. Other wise, this bike is just a waste of money no matter how many features it can offer.
In serbia buy new drive 2 year sell not possble to repair l meanit is but its too much expesive for expamle clutch for sr300 is 500euro only for part crazy 🤣

All bikes should have these side fairing protection bump stops. A Kawasaki Ninja 400 and 650 can be written off from a drop from the stand, the trellis frame sticks out so is easy to damage in a simple drop. Also all twins should be 270 degree crank :)
Now do a reliability test. I'm tired of hearing about all the features. Yes it looks cool and has some very good features, but if it breaks down after 3000km's or less like the BRAAAP bikes then what's the point? Having lots of trouble finding people talking about the reliability of cfmoto bikes, only ever gushing over the features 😅

They *have* a 650 engine and a 700, AND an 800cc engine. If they wanted to, they could really fart in some hot tubs out there. Like, if it had two discs up front, some aluminum and a bit of long-term confidence, this might be a realistic contender.
Okay, after looking at their website, I cannot think of a single reason why they wouldn't bring a 650ss to market here. That look, in those colors, with full 'bos and full KYB? That's a recipe for affordable fun, I reckon.
I don’t know whether it’s just me, but they look a bit odd with just one front disc, also if your going to have just one front disc, wouldn’t it be better to have it on opposing sides to the rear disc, for braking balance, when using both brakes in an emergency?
