What is the total weight of the onions including shallots. Can I use tamarind paste instead and if yes how much? Please advise

The weight of the medium sized onion which I have used is around 75 gms and that of 25 shallots is 60 gms.
I have used Kerala tamarind (Kodumpuli). If you dont get this from your stores..... you can use 1 tsp tamarind paste...but make sure you use less salt as the ready to use tamarind paste may have more salt content.
