@quietlawn @lawnsacrossamerica do you think Ryobi or ego offers a better battery?

@@Justingolfs4 hard to say about that as I haven't used any Ryobi small tools. I am very impressed with the Ryobi mowers we've used though.

Great job as always Allyn. Educational and relaxing. It’s a fun time to be looking at lawn equipment! I moved into the Toro battery platform for homeowners last fall, and I’m very impressed. So many great options now!

Would love to hear more about that lawn service running totally on E tools about their job capacity. How big is their average lawn and how many per day? OK, this is what video is about. Thought it was gonna be a brand comparison video.
Small lawns and 12 a day. Looks like they're working within the limits of the technology. 300 cycles then dead? Yikes!

Nice!!! D.C just implemented gas power blower/ trimmer ban due to noise. I’m sure people that live and do business there will appreciate the high powered whisper line.

New subscriber here. I am a home owner (retired in 2018) and live in the Texas country. I have owned this home for 35 years or so and we have had many gas powered weed eaters and push mowers. I kept replacing the weed eaters due to ethanol problems (didn’t really know at the time). I purchased a Ryobi 40v weed eater and loved it, then purchased a 20” push mower (no self propelled) and have been using Ryobi for 6 years or more. There is maintenance to electric or battery but they are electrical wiring (safety switches ) to work on. But the Ryobi has been a great trim mower and weed trimmer, I still use a gas zero turn for my 2.5 acres.
My biggest gripe with Ryobi is the battery. I am constantly repairing the 18v batteries used more with the drills, blowers, pole saw, etc. When I take the 18v One+ battery apart, the battery has low voltage, that I manually charge up with a like battery and then plop it on the charger. Rarely do I have one I can’t fix. Sometimes a cell will die and need to be replaced. That is no problem to replace if you have a spot welder. All the batteries from Ryobi us the standard 18650 Lithium cells which are good quality. The BMS (the battery management board) that maintains the charge, disables output on low power, doesn’t allow charging when too cold or hot seems to be the problem.

I am surprise this isn't Toro vs. EGO. That Toro review you did really has me looking at the toro battery mower.

Yeahh, there is Ryobi rep at my HD and the girl didn't insert the battery all the way in the weed trimmer and the 40V battery almost dropped on my feet when I was testing it. Don't tell me about these reps. BTW I have a 40V brushless trimmer and love it, very powerful.

Loved this episode. I was given a Ryobi 40v blower a few years ago by my great uncle after he passed and I loved it so much I got the brushless string trimmer that is on the expand-it line and purchased the edger attachment and hedge trimmer attachment. My favorite part is my garage doesn’t smell like gas cans anymore. I still have a handa self propelled gas mower but that thing has been so good to me for the past eight years starting on the first pull every time twice a week for like 10 1/2 months a year it did get a little break in winter here in Tampa FL but I think I’ll be going electric with it soon too.

More efficient than buying 60 Inch professional zero turn, then needing a pickup truck and trailer to transport it. Pickup trucks aren't cheap and they're not making any standard cab work truck.

I love my Cub Cadet CC3OE electric riding mower. No fuss with gas or oil or plugs…just plug it in and it is ready to go the next time. I don’t have a huge lawn but it sure works great.

Have you run any of the mean green zero turns/standers or the new gravely or toro electric to compare to gas?

Great content, and was really looking forward to hearing more about your experience there at the Ryobi show. I started building my arsenal of Ryobi’s 40V whisper series, last summer, after my Echo weed eater finally gave up. Needless to say I’m sold, and can’t wait for some of the new products to come out. So far I have the 18” chainsaw, blower, pole saw, and the carbon fiber shaft weed eater. Great quality, and for a DIYer, (non commercial use) a great option.

What a cool episode! It's exciting to see some improvements in lawncare technology. I'm seriously considering retiring my 30 year old John Deere push mower for a battery powered unit. Looking forward to more information in the future.

I had a ryobi lawnmower that was without a doubt the worst, most cheaply made lawnmower I’ve ever seen. It basically fell apart after a year of normal use on an average lawn.
I now use a Makita that is still flawless after the same amount of time and use.

Great video Al...I really enjoyed it. I am getting SO over my gas powered lawn equipment, but never thought it had enough grunt to get the job done. I am definitely going to research this out in terms of converting over to electric.
