I’m a single person . I have an Instant Pot Duo Nova 8 qt. and making 1 cup of rice leaves too much left over. If I use ½ cup, would I change or reduce the cooking time? Thanks
No, same cooking time. It's like boiling an egg. One egg or ten, they take 4 mins to boil, as long as the water stays at temp. Your pressure cooker will stay at temp.
Cool! Thank you.
why do you dry it when you get it wet again. I'm just a noob here hehe
can i make this the same way with the same measurements and time using thai long grain sweet rice?
Yes, absolutely
Can you add vinegar with the water and cook in the instant pot?
Never tried that way.
Why strain rice when your just going to add water anyway?
Removes the starches so the rice isn't mushy. All the cloudiness is the starches.
Because the water measurments are messed up if you don't strain it.
why dry the rice for 10 min ? so strange. u have to soak it for 10 mins
Because you are draining excess water. The rice doesn’t dry completely. It has absorbed water. You do not want the excess water, as it will throw off your ratios for cooking. It’s not strange at all. It’s science.
For 3 cups its also 5 minutes?
Yes.
How much rice to 1 cup water?
1 to 1
