I live in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. I started making music last year and I've been chasing numbers and speed. Sometimes, I catch myself and slow down but on those days that I can't bring myself to slow down, God steps in. Electricity is an unnecessarily huge problem in my part of the world; when the lights go out, I come to an almost stop, breathe, look around and find something else to do artistically like my scriptwriting. I'm learning to slow down on my own, God help me😂
I appreciate you sharing your story! Just go at your own pace, whether it’s fast or slow. Just make sure you know why you’re creating. I love the dedication! Keep going 🙌🏽
I lost my camera equipment due to getting jumped by three guys stopping another one from hitting his wife in a city centre on my way to a gig. I lost everything my body and my lens's all smashed and destroyed insurance wouldn't cover it and the people we're basically unemployed/didnt have enough money to cover payments. I lost my passion and a huge part of my personality that day and that was a true form of "slowing down" I've been on a spiral down in my emotional state for the past 4 years with no recovery but I took up graphic design to fill up the creative hole which has filled a small part of that void. No matter happens try and to not slow down. Not took photos in awhile? just go for a walk and shoot random stuff even if you come back with one good photo it was well worth it. I hope any photographers/future photographers see this keep the passion alive
