Nothing like being a deputy parent at 27. Cant enjoy the little peanuts I earn because at home my mom is struggling 😏 how to save when we need food at home? How to have goals when you're trying not to starve? How to save while trying to undo the trauma of poverty and trying to regain your dignity? That time the stress is making my eczema flair up and the price of medication and dermatologists? How to save your way out of poverty while earning under R10000, and having responsibilities even though I dont have a child? Im almost sure we dont live in the same landscape 😔💔
I need that kind of advice now, please. In SA its a privilege to be able to save, no?

I know it's difficult, just start by putting away R50 a month. It should be the first thing you do. Don't try to save it with what you think will be left over once you're done with everything, that's the mistake most of us make. Put that R50 away each month and forget about it. Once things look up you will eventually take it to R100 and so on and you see the difference it will make. Just start, and save first that's more important. Also pray that God gives you the strength and discipline to do it consistently

It’s not easy sis…we all come from poverty stricken backgrounds but we can break this cycle🙏
Here’s my tips:
1. Instead of sending cash home rather buy groceries and send them (constantly check for specials e.g every times day food lovers market has specials) buy basic stuff like mealie meal, washing soap etc
I have made a decision not to send cash home and that’s how I started saving as little as R200 per month
2. Start believing that you can come out of this situation and look around you and if possible check where you want to go in life and if possible start working towards enhancing your skills to reach your goals e.g do free short courses on line and start applying for different jobs
But yeah, it can be done
We just need to start small like sis Yolz said🙏

Write down your goals and wishes
Pray and start working with the little that you have and eventually you will get there.
Read the scripture Habhakuk 2:2-3
It changed my life once I started to write the vision down and pray and work.

You save from the little you have. And if you believe it and work hard, you can actually do a lot.
