Great 80s song. So many good bands and artists in the 70s and 80s, 90's. Not to leave out some new artists I just discovered. Music is in my heart and soul. Love your reactions 👍🔥🫶🎶🎤🎧
Sweet! A few more Steve Winwood classics from the eighties are "While You See a Chance", "Back in the High Life Again", and "Roll with It". Another reason why a lot of today's music uses samples is that it's cheaper to pay the royalty than to spend extra time in the studio coming up with original material.
Alright, you recognized Chaka Khan!!! Winwood is a world treasure. Check out Roll With It, Spanish Dancer, Back in the High Life. His work with Traffic is legendary. Check out The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, Feelin Alright, Glad/Freedom Rider, Empty Pages, Shootout at the Fantasy Factory, Rainmaker... I can go on and on!
I always loved Steve Winwood's music. You picked a good one! He was once a part of the Great '60s pop band Blind Faith, along with fellow members, Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Ric Grech. I highly recommend their classic song "Can't Find My Way Home."
It's not because we hate sampling, it's because they're stealing and aren't capable of creating original music. Many artists don't play an instrument, nor can they compose or read music. But giving credit when it's due, they can lay down the lyrics though.
Yes, you've done Steve Winwood, just not as solo career. You've done Traffic (Mr. Fantasy), Blind Faith, and Spencer Davis Group. He's the singer for those bands. The 80s were fine, inventive in their own way, but also notable for being more commercial and falling back on synthesizer gimmicks rather than using real instruments. There's a lot of good music from the 80s, aka the MTV era.
Sampling is fine as long as they give credit and pay for it. Otherwise it’s theft and deceptive, it’s maddening to hear young people going on about how genius some performer is when it’s all lifted from real musicians.
Steve is a musical prodigy and musical treasure! Love him.
He's had that voice all his life. Look for Spencer Davis group, "gimme some lovin'". The singer is him at like 15 or 16 years old.

The female singer is Chaka Khan.
I didn’t know that. Thanks
@threekidzmom04 You're welcome!
When my kids were young, I would play music while housecleaning. This was one of my favorites. I would turn it up full blast, dance around. Lol

The great Chaka Kahn is in this, too.
Oh Yeah!! Absolutely Love this!
You're on a roll with some great 80's music lately. Makes me happy! ❤
What a classic!

Excellent choice! Forgot Chaka was singing too! Love chaka's power voice. Check out a rare gem with Chaka and Peter Cetera called " Feels Like Heaven"
Steve’s a musical genius. Check him out at age 18 singing “ Georgia” by Ray Charles.
Another classic for the playlist!
Yes that is Chaka Khan
I saw the Back in the high life tour in 1986.
Love your reaction!! 😂 awesome song too ❤
So glad you played this. I haven't heard it in so long and it made me smile. 😃
Recommend “Roll With It.”
Masterful! Good stuff gets sampled. Singing' along here. Yep. That's Shaka. Thanks.
New sub here!
If you are new to AceTheHeart check out some older reactions going back 2 years some great songs in there.
That is Chaka khan who has passed. She not just doing a black soul singer back up those vocals are harmonizing with Steve’s.
Passed what? The bar??? She literally just posted yesterday.

I feel the same as you do!
This is all they do these days sample songs, no talent, writing you own music, like they did back in the days!!
Yesterdays music is more authentic!!!!!!
I'm a musician. Sampling an artists work to make money is weak, lame. Great reaction!
🤙

Creativity is greatly lacking today...sampling classic music, lazy movie remakes and rebooting old TV shows
You’re good Ace! It is Chaka Khan! Love me some Steve Winwood ❤❤❤❤ Check out Roll With It. My fav💜💜🩷🩷
