This is the build people dream of. Especially swapping the motor in 2 days and getting it to run?!?! Bro it’s awesome. You could easily do that shaker Durango concept from 2016 semantic show! I would have loved to go this fought but I just bought a new srt Durango ands it being built. But what you did makes me want to buy a old r/t and do a swap and build that shaker concept. Post more! Love your truck!!
Thanks man. I do remember the shaker concept, it was the catalyst for the SRT. I believe. I’m not sure if it was 2WD or AWD though. I kinda consider mine to be the equivalent to the Scat Pack. Not sure why Dodge didn’t do this themselves.
Cooling is fine so far. I am running a 180 T stat. I don’t have the additional oil cooler of the SRT, so the oil temp has gotten to the high 230’s when I was drag racing.
Not sure about that. The electronics would probably be compatible but oil pan and trans tail shaft may be different. Mine came out of a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
It was just a matter of having it tuned. The 14 and up pcm is compatible with all of the sensors and injectors on the current version of the 392. I think a lot of things were different in 2012 that may make it more difficult. I don’t have any experience with that, but someone on DodgeDurango.net put a later model 392 into a 2012 Durango and non of the wiring was compatible.
I am putting a 392 in my 2012 Durango right now I will let you know about the wiring. My 392 came out of a 2012 Srt8 300. I have my 5,7 out now and the trans off of it getting ready to mount the trans on the 392 and waiting for my Jeep SRT manifolds I ordered because the standard 6.4 manifolds off the cars won’t work. Anyway figured crossed this sucker is gonna work
Thanks for the question. My wife drives it daily, 60 miles on the expressway 75-80 mph and it averages 19 mpg. On long trips we get 21 mpg. And when I drive around town, it gets 16 mpg.
@@tonyharmsen5081 not bad at all, I bought a 14, still stock and that about the same I get hwy just lower on the street... I'd be happy with that! What was your ~ investment budget?
Really nice. Great job. Sounds nice 👌🏽
Thank you. And thanks for watching.

I would of loved to see a shaker 392. Hood is already there…..
Durango Nation 👍
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
How does it cool down or are you running a higher temp.

So a charger engine and trans 392 will fit also just need tune

Bad ass, T!
Thanks
What changes did you have to make to the pcm if any? Taking my friend 2016 392 and putting it in my 2012 Rt charger

I want to make a project like this you think you can provide whit the list you have on your Durango
There’s another video where I recap the parts and pieces needed.
How much did it cost for the engine swap?
About $10k for everything.
Hows the mpg now?

Motor was $6800 after tax and shipping. Exhaust was $1800. Tuning was about $1000. And a few other miscellaneous parts were about $500.
@@tonyharmsen5081 did ya keep the factory 8hp tranny stock, build it or swap to the 8hp95?
Stock
