Schools taught today (if my knowledge serves me right) don't actually practice these tactics (don't have a direct lineage to it) but practice an immitation of it that has been expanded upon. actually the "pigeon method" works like this: when pigeon about to fly away, their claws or talon or whatever feet toe part clench naturally, so if you push your finger into their claws, they'll hold onto your finger, making it unable to fly so the concept is that taichi is about going with the opponent's flow and counter or redirect their blows to somewhere else, and if you can match/sense pigeon's movement, it shows your ability on taichi to a certain extent although I know how it works but I am still supporting this dude's work on exposing fake martial artists

My brother holds several black belts, Wing Chung is one of them. Totally useless in a real world scenario, but quite 'practical' in the Dojo where the students respect their teacher and wouldn't think of knocking him to the ground.' Bruce Lee is on the greatest examples of overrated in the history of martial arts, not to mention a bad actor.
@@invisiblesouldier6166 Last time I checked, Ninjutsu was not a martial art, or even a fighting style. It is a system of guerrilla tactics used for sabotage and espionage. Shinobi rarely ever fought and were chiefly used as saboteurs or spies. Assassinations by shinobi were also few and far between. Schools taught today (if my knowledge serves me right) don't actually practice these tactics (don't have a direct lineage to it) but practice an immitation of it that has been expanded upon. It's a mark of refined civilization when martial arts turn into complete theory and magical nonsense. I hope he will go down in history as a true patriot for his country. Weili is an amazing athlete. She has COUNTLESS fans in the west for her amazing technique and warrior spirit. She kickboxes and uses BJJ and wrestling. This is so sad and confusing.
Agree. Even Bruce Lee created his own fighting style, and he was all about adapting. He even street fought between movie takes. Kung Fu is great but to think that a kung fu master will win, they must be getting themselves. "Be like water my friend" -- adapt, B Lee.
Xu Xiaodong is a hero. China should be ashamed of how they're treating him.
"Nobody knew about MMA In china but me" - Bruce Lee was the original MMArtist, and brought many forms of martial art along with popularity to the USA, indirectly becoming the father of American MMA. Part of his whole story was about his chinese community being against for not only mixing arts to create a new one, but for teaching it to americans as well.
to be fair Bruce lee is american but raised in hongkong. That time Hongkong still not under Mainland China
@Karl S I was comparing him to the MMA guy that said he was the only person in china to know MMA. He wasn't by far, Bruce Lee was, and was ostrisized for it by these same "fake masters"
@@NinjaTheEvan it is possible that it was merely hyperbole, used because he knew no one there who knew of it. He can’t be expected to know what a billion other humans know anyways, and it is certainly true that China would wish to have as little overt western influence in their culture right now as possible. For that to be limited in the public domain is expected under their current regime, and the demonizing of MMA as foreign influence does sound about part for the course. Why would such a narrative permit its subject to become widely familiar to its people?
Historically, Ming Dynasty great general Qi Jiguang actually had same opinion about those fake martial artists 😊
"To be pretty isn't practical, to be practical isn't pretty" - Qi Jiguang
Edit:
I just realized after watched video for second time that the way Xu Xiadong treated has similarity to how Ming court treated General Qi Jiguang during his late life. For being vocal and non sense approach about corruption and general weakness of Ming military during his tenure, General Qi died in semi exile and poverty.
That's because, as a soldier, he practiced actual martial arts, which no longer exist today; almost all "Kung Fu" schools are peasant village boxing styles.
That is, boxing styles practiced by "masters" who never box.
They are a bunch of hypocrates to be honest. I'm pretty sure China Military dont use these "traditional" martial arts for their soldier. It must be some kind of mixed style.
Even in my country Indonesia, the home country of martial arts called Silat, the military doesnt use it. They instead use some kind of style of mixing Taekwondo with other style.
Well, look what happened to Ming dynasty, a century of humiliation by western powers. Even Mao's China survived because US invasions severely weakened Japan, and they couldn't hold onto their occupation in China any longer. Also Mao had Soviet backing. Being delusional and arrogant serves no purpose, it only brings danger and defeat to your nation. Modern China and India should also learn from that.
@@shahranmahmood3366 well I'm pretty sure you are referring to Qing dynasty:)
There is a BIG reason, All ARMY in the world use Karate and MMA style as the training. Simple, fast, and very effective to disable and take down anyone.
The Chinese military used Sanshou and it is very effective. I'd suggest watching videos about it.
China is too worried about politics for everything. East vs West etc. Look at Russia, you have amazing MMA fighters come out of there like Khabib.
China is missing out of unleashing its potential on the world stage, it has almost 20% of the world's pop, there has to be some awesome athletes there if they would just sponsor them. Props to this dude for exposing fake martial artists.

That’s the most accurate description of Xu Xiaodong “MMA Activist”. He would benefit from adopting this term more than making fake claims about his role in “China’s first MMA” match. He was on the wrong ideological side.. he probably expected to win against Andy Pi and that would indicate that he was poorly briefed about MMA or just brash. Looking back, Andy Pi was probably told that Xu Xiaodong was absolutely no threat. His students at the time were much better Sanda fighters and would’ve had enough BJJ skills to take an easy win against Xu. I guess Andy wanted that low hanging fruit...
This is like that old japanese samurai whos mission is to expose fake teachers, masters or something like that.

Some very conservative Chinese do.
the government of China does not want anyone inside their borders to support western beliefs or western companies. they dont want any more attention or money going to the US or the west. that's why they block US apps and sites as Google. they would rather their people fund their country than some other western company. kind of the North Korea mentality just a bit watered down.

Roanne Araneta He is a joke.
He was right in the first place for fake martial arts. But for him, that's all fake while everything in the US, Thailand and Japan is true and great.

1:10 the most effective defense technique
moving a pigeon up and down
aaah I am already trembling from the power of this dude XD
i think the pidgeon technique is to work on reflexes. when the pidgeon tries to fly away and you move your arm down, the pidgeon wont get the momentum it needs to fly off the arm. i think it is a hard technique to do and practice in martial arts
Plot twist: The pigeon is the one locking the man down.
actually the "pigeon method" works like this:
when pigeon about to fly away, their claws or talon or whatever feet toe part clench naturally, so if you push your finger into their claws, they'll hold onto your finger, making it unable to fly
so the concept is that taichi is about going with the opponent's flow and counter or redirect their blows to somewhere else, and if you can match/sense pigeon's movement, it shows your ability on taichi to a certain extent
although I know how it works but I am still supporting this dude's work on exposing fake martial artists
He mastered the pigeon and blocking punches with his face techniques!
Looking at this guy I made poopy in pants

I believed that kung Fu is real, however as society progresses, people are less exposed to dangerous situations like wars.
