Omg thank you for this....somehow my touchpad settings got turned off when I upgraded to Windows 11 pro and I honestly didn't know what was going on 😅. You saved me!
After about an hour of use after doing this I believe it's worked. My touchpad would randomly develop deadspots, click and move on it's own; I tried reinstalling (possibly outdated) drivers from a different section of the website which didn't work, I could swear it was a hardware issue because even opening the computer in safe mode didn't fix it. But this is looking good so far, so thank you.
@Tech With Tyler Dude you are seriously amazing. Okay so I have a Lenovo Legion Slim 7 and almost a year ago there was a Windows update. The track pad no longer worked. Tried everything, ensured that the track pad was enabled via the Lenovo hotkey, reinstalled drivers, tried everything. I could tell it wasn't a hardware problem as the track pad worked in BIOS Now imagine my surprise that the first thing you say in your video is the problem. DISABLED IN WINDOWS SETTINGS ARE YOU KIDDING ME. The Microsoft employee who made that decision for it to turn off after that update should be fired!
Mine works but makes the slightest click sound on the slightest touch, others on Reddit said experienced same, not a big issue but kind of annoying any idea? Also notice the extreme right edge, and top edge where track pad meets the casing it’s not working. I was planning to upgrade to the glass pad but just watched another video saying only a certain serial number will work (not part number) and now that confused me lol
I haven’t dealt with that one, I know these trackpads can be a bit finicky though. I guess you could always try to replace it, but if it’s usable maybe keep it. Personally I’m using a mouse for most cases but use the trackpad every so often. I would be able to live with it in this case but up to you!
@@TechWithTylerArruda yes I’ve been debating the glass touchpad upgrade using the pad from the extreme x1. I have t480 I just bought as a steal! I primary use mac machines but loving this t480, I find I like to use a mouse for this, but not my MacBook, so maybe not worth me upgrading either who knows.
Totally understand why you like the glass trackpad and not using a mouse on Mac! I’m a big fan of their trackpads as well. The gestures just seem to make things a whole lot easier with that great trackpad. Unfortunately, the size of the thinkpad trackpads aren’t big like the Mac ones so i opt for a mx master mouse which also works for gestures as well!
I have the Legion Pro 5 16IRX9, but I dont see anything about SynapticsUltraNav Drivers. The only things that pop up when i go to the mouse, touchpad, keyboard and pen is about my function keys
looked trough the bios, restarted a bunch, uninstall and reinstall drivers... all that just for it to be turned off bruhhh what i dont understand is, why was the trackpad not working in the bios? if it was a windows setting
@@TechWithTylerArruda windows 10. My son purchased another t480 and took the HD and the memory. I will replace those and try to get it up and running. I will be able to test the setting once i get those in. He abandon it after trying the replacement keyboard and it failed to work. Took the memory and HD and left me with the rest!! I will let you know once i get it up and running. He was convinced that the motherboard controller of the computer was the problem. Not sure how much he researched it.
I do believe this update worked for my trackpad fix on my Lenovo! Thank you so much!
No problem!

That’s awesome lol I’m glad my video helped! It sucks when updates break things

even after installing drivers for my pc it is not wotking what to do .my pc is ideapad slim 5i.
It could be a faulty trackpad if it’s not the software

Bro hahaha thanks a lot!
Any time!
You should add, "for Windows only" to save the rest of us some time.
thanks a looot
hitting fn + f10 worked for me
any ideas on a trackpoint not working. tried a new keyboard and it did not fix the problem.
If it’s a hardware issue, it’s hard to say, did the keyboard come with a new trackpad?
@@TechWithTylerArruda So we purchased a replacement keyboard and so a trackpoint came with it. still did not work. we did not replace the trackpad.
Interesting, I’m leaning towards a software issue. Maybe check that it’s enabled in your settings if you haven’t already. Are you on windows 11?

@@justsoapashfield yes there’s a specific setting under trackpad settings for the synaptic trackpoint
first thing isn't an option and second thing i can't click it because my browser wont highlight it when i use tab. fucking hell
