    The spiritual warfare of hair loss in black women is REAL! And this is the realest video I’ve seen on the root cause. I never heard about using oil and because I’m open and seeking a cure (the cure promised to us all by God), open to a new perspective to change my mind. With that said, thank you for being bold with sharing the truth. The truth is what sets us free and I’m here for it. 🙌🏾🗣️🔊

    I was never a scalp greaser and due to sports, I was always washing my hair a few times a week. However, in my late 40s and having worn my hair natural for years (never braids, no weaves nor wigs), I started to notice that I was developing CCCA at the crown. I'm a doctor, so I realized what was happening. The only thing that I had been doing which which likely caused it was putting my hair up in a loose (I thought) bun to sleep. Anyway, I stopped with the bun immediately and started wearing my hair loose and covered by a satin bonnet to sleep. The other thing I did was to start supplementing with Vitamin D and cod liver oil because my vitamin D was low. Well, I now have about 6 inches of hair in the area. It's somewhat thinner than the surrounding areas, but not bald. When I first realized what was going on, the hair was very sparse (my son said, "Mama, I can see your scalp") and brittle and broken off to about 1 inch in length.

    Ccca alopecia is an auto immune condition caused by inflammation in the body. It's connected to a bad diet and vitamin deficiency. I know because I was diagnosed with a mild case 4 yrs ago. There are several different types of alopecia. Mine didn't come from tight hairstyles. That is tension alopecia. I also don't oil my scalp. My hair thinned out a little but I never went bald. I changed my diet - stopped drinking alcohol about 2 years ago & take vitamin D & zinc daily and I still have hair.

      Hi @Leah1094 I can't thank you enough for sharing your experience and glad to hear you are having success with your hair. May you please tell me what specialist did you see and what type of tests did you take to determine your nutrition deficiencies? Thank you!

      @@Zara_Luna Hi. I went to a dermatologist who wanted to prescribe aggressive treatments like giving me injections in my scalp. I didn't want to do that so I did my own research. I watched videos by Dr Berg regarding hair loss. I also watched UA-cam videos of other women who had the same diagnosis as me and grew their hair back. all of them seemed to say the same thing if you have an unhealthy diet like too much sugar or too much caffeine or too much of anything bad it can cause inflammation in the body that was why I gave up alcohol. Then I started reading about vitamin D. My doctor had told me that I was deficient in that particular vitamin. I also read that zinc deficiency was linked to hair loss. I also did some basic things like scalp massage and having a regular shampoo routine to keep my scalp clean. I used brown Listerine to stop the itching/burn on my scalp. Why Listerine? I learned from one of the UA-cam videos that it was used for dandruff back in the day. You also have to consider your age - as we get older the hair follicles shrink which can be a factor in thinning. Just start being curious and research for yourself that information about Listerine is online.

    Black women, I understand the personal impact of societal views on our hair in our daily lives.
    Black people, especially Black women and children, are the only group of people who have had to have laws passed so we can wear our natural hair without being discriminated against.
    Unfortunately, the trauma is done to our psychological, emotional, and physical well-being.
    Now, we must come together and find a positive solution to begin and / or continue the healing process.
    It is not an easy nor comfortable journey.
    I want to gentle encourage each of us to embrace our journey with a positive attitude, continuing to learn about our hair and how to care for it.
    Each of us will experience different approaches to healthy mind body and soul total wellness.
    Armed with empathy and surrounding ourselves with a positive support system, which may include doctors, dermatologists, colorist, cosmetology professionals ect
    I know it will take time and effort to learn and apply accurate upto date information to gain the knowledge and see the best result possible in our respective healing healthy hair care journey.

    U are 200% correct regarding oil causing ur scalp to be inflamed. I just discovered this like 2 wks ago. I was putting oil and grease on my scalp. My scalp felt sensitive to the touch as if my hair would fall out and very delicate to touch. I was having slight headaches. My scalp did not look swollen. I took some Aleve and figured if my scalp feels better then it could be inflammation. Within hours the pain started to go away and my scalp was not sensitive anymore to the touch.
    By morning my scalp was back to normal no sensitivity. I will never put oil and grease on my scalp again. I am going to try some African shea butter but only on my hair not scalp.

    I was diagnosed with CCCA several years ago. I was never a scalp greaser, have natural hair that I usually wore in a curly wash-and-go style, and didn’t color it. I eat clean and love vegetables. I believe two things contributed to my CCCA: I had a cyst on my scalp from the time I was a little child that was unproblematic for many years, until it just started erupting when I was 30. I had to have it removed, so there was a tiny scar in the middle of my crown. (Trauma) Then a few years later I was using DevaCurl, which I later learned messed up my scalp and hair cuticle. My Black woman dermatologist helped me a great deal and was able to stop the spread by controlling the inflammation and strengthening the surrounding hair. My crown is thinner now because there are follicles that are scarred and can’t grow hair, but I can generally hide it by using certain styles.

    WoW ! That is a mouthful, indeed. It’s been a real struggle since I have gone ‘natural’ . Have not seen any real results and the UK salons only seem to be able to cope with persons of ‘mixed’ heritage.. These are sad times for persons with 4 C hair with few exceptions. Wish I had you here in UK for a full analysis of my hair. Wouldn’t mine maxing a credit card for this..
    You are well educated and teach down to the molecular level which most persons who own hair salons are either unaware are very much aware and do not care as it ensures they make a consistent profit.

      It’s not that they don’t care I’m not just a cosmetologist. The details I know down to a molecular level aren’t taught in cosmetology school. Leave the fad “gone natural “. If your hair is growing out of your scalp it’s natural. Focus on learning the human body so you can learn how to treat your hair. Team natural has been going on for over a decade. The good ones are either hiding or they quit doing hair like I did.❤️

    This is why my bonnets are super loose. Oil goes on your hair, to seal in moisture. It does not go on your scalp. The sebum gets trapped close to our roots, due to the kinks and curls of our hair, so we can’t get the benefits of sebum on the rest of the hair. That’s where supplementing with oil helps: where it’s lacking, not where it is present in abundance.

    • @IamCynDoll
      @IamCynDoll  2 місяці тому +12

      I understand your theory but combing your hair gets sebum to your ends in minutes. Oil feeds the yeast , bacteria and mites on your scalp which lead to balding over a 6 month to 25 year period. Sebum is a wax not oil. Comb it to bring it down. Oils cause scalp inflammation over time.

If don’t use oil I get flakes and clusters that hurt and bleed. So each case is different it’s not the oil it’s inflammation in the body that you can’t control or cure.

    I'm guilty of putting large amounts of oil on my scalp/hair, jojoba, olive, avocado, amla, castor oil etc etc etc
    My edges on left side of my head are no longer fully grown and top and middle of my head the hair is thinner. I did wear locs for about 25 yrs and I'm in my fifties. I noticed my hair was finer when I cut them off. I take iron, massage my head daily, spritz my hair with rosewater, drink lots of water, eat lots of veg, I eat well, I'm slim and keep myself healthy etc etc but the areas affected are not resuming. I dont wash my hair often. I don't wear wigs and maybe once a yr I will have braids and when I do I wash the hair thoroughly before wearing. If I don't the itching is INSANE. I have had a lot of trauna in my life with regards to family affairs. I wear silk scarves. I live in UK in an area with hard water. Our climate, damp wet, rainy not a lot of sunshine even in summer does not help my skin or hair. So I've always put a lot of oil on my skin and hair as both tend to be dry.
    If no oil to be used, what do I then use on my hair/ scalp?🤔
    I don't want hair down to my legs but I would like thicker healthy hair all over my head.

    Professional hairstylist here for 35 years. A healthy scalp can grow hair but only to an expected length, let’s be clear. But it can grow and still must be regularly trimmed to cut away the old dried hair that has no more value and will only dry out and fall off no. It’s on or cause more think g and weakness. Scalp gets it’s treatment from anti inflammatory agents which can come in an “essential “ oil and if used with the right other ingredients can clean and clear and even stimulate the scalp absorption off life giving nutrients that trickle down to the strands. But heavy products buildup and block the life out of the scalp and starving the hair. 😢 along with the choking and stabbing etc that’s done to the hair when styling. The celebrity product pushers don’t know any of this!

      @@lb.3199 I don’t like using “predetermined “ but the truth is in my experience the hair will definitely respond to the treatment of it and your diet along with your inherited genetics. I do know some people whose hair will not get past the hairline without becoming frail and popping off. But after going natural I’ve seen the hair shoot past the shoulders. Even my hair has its natural stopping point. So my message has been to love and accept what you have.

    • @IamCynDoll
      @IamCynDoll  2 місяці тому +2

      You have to sit and look at your patterns, diet and routines. Normally once your hair gets to a certain length your patterns cause your ends to break so you’re not retaining length. Hair is ALWAYS growing but your habits don’t allow you to hold onto the length.
      How often do you comb your hair? When you comb your hair do you have loads of hair in your brush? The hair in the brush is the hair that’s suppose to be in your head. How do you wear your hair from wash day to wash day?
      Accountability will get you pass the growth wall.

      @IamCynDoll No! She did deserve it. There was no need for it. Here's the reason I used glovers" on my scalp with the oil. Which halts the inflammation and cleanses the scalp. So basically, what it would have caused my scalp to dry out. To be perfectly honest, high levels of sulfur can vary from person to person. Glovers consist of sulfur and sulfur 8 contains about 2% sulfur which irritates my eyes. I may or may not be right but our human hair contains sulfur somewhere between 3 to 5%. I can't do sulfur 8. It burns my eyes. Granted, she knew before I expressed that to her. Why? She proceeded. Who knows! I currently do my own hair. But I do appreciate you expressing her trying to help.

      You can fix it. All your habits have to change. Target your trigger and reverse the inflammation. Your hair will grow back but you have to start with accountability. Undo all the things you’ve done and change your haircare practices. You can start over, be intentional.

    OMG! My hair didn't start falling out until I decided to go natural. I was putting a relaxer in twice a year. Granted, it was a box relaxer, buuuuttttt, I was super careful. I washed & rinsed 7 (SEVEN) times, and used ALL of the conditioner that came in the box, and get this...I never...I mean NEVER..used oil on my scalp or hair, yet I maintained a full head of hair.I remember telling one stylist (who I went to to cut my hair) that I never used oil, and she declared I was damaging my hair. I paid her no mind because I I found my conditioner best benefited my hair, not greases and oils. I'd been doing this for at least 35 years, including throughout two pregnancies! I only went natural because...well, I don't even know why, probably 'cause of the whole movement thing, but I did. And part of that process seemed to be the use of oil and grease on my scalp. Well...BOOM! Immediate hair loss. I just figured it was due to my age, stress, etc. One of my girlfriends and I washed our hair...EVERY DAY! My girlfriend sat under a dryer. Well, I couldn't do that (too impatient), but I did use a blow dryer. My girlfriend still relaxes her hair and washes daily. Guess what? She still has a head full of hair, but me...hair loss like crazy!Anyone reading this post...please listen to Cyn Doll. She KNOWS what she speaks!! I'm not saying I don't have some unknown, underlying condition, but I am saying my hair loss started when I went "natural" and started using oils, butters, and greases...which I absolutely hate. In fact, my hair didn't really start growing until I was a teenager...and got my first relaxer. My cousin put it in for me. She had a head full of hair (why I trusted her) and she washed out the relaxer 7 times, which is why that stuck with me, and after conditioning, she used a blow dryer, and then...she styled it...WITH NO OILS, GREASE, etc...just sayin'! Listen to Cyn!!

Grew up, you know, mum greased her scalp, greased my scalp…in college I switched to kemi oil which was a little lighter and only put it on my hair, by the time I had my daughters I was doing so much natural remedies I started thinking 🤔 hey could this block the follicles or cells? So I didn’t do it. Fascinating. To reduced yeast over growth, grapefruit seed extract, take it for 30 days, it will tamp down yeast. Love your truth telling! ❤ subbing
