- The partitioned lockable storage in the Ford F150 is a great feature! It can be folded down flat and locked when the seats are down. In this quick video I take you through the basics of the partitioned lockable storage, including how it works and locking it up!

Yes! This video just saved me from
trying to figure out what my partitioned lockable storage does. How to use. Etc. Ty, sir.
Good to hear and you're welcome! How are you liking the truck so far?
I would like to see a video on how to remove the box. I need the full flat space in the back for a tool box. The stat age box in my case is a is useless
Silverado owner leaning heavily toward F-150 as my next truck. That storage is nice, among many other features. Thanks for the video.
You're welcome! What build do you think you'd go with in an F150?
@@CarsWithSteve XLT crew cab, maybe a trim above that. Not sure about engine.
@@MrStandroid The Tremor High Pack or Lariat would give you a Leather interior interior with ventilated 1st row seats if that's important! If not, the XLT is a solid truck with comfy cloth seats.
For the engine.. how much are you towing?
So Steve, as you may remember I got my '22 Powerboost back from Carstar Collision after hitting a deer and they did a fantastic job. I'm hoping my '24 PB will be in early July. I got to thinking early "does the '24 model also have a flat floor in the rear for storage?" Then I thought, Steve has probably covered this for sure! Sure enough, I search it on UA-cam and it brings up one of your videos. You're the man Steve! Your one year old video answered my current question Lol.... thanks!
Haha glad that the old videos are still proving to be useful! What trim level did you go for in your new '24?
@@CarsWithSteve Hi Steve. I'm getting a '24 PB Lariat 502A (high) in carbonized grey with the 7.2 kw/h pro-power, the pro access tailgate, twin panel moonroof, bed scale and a few other options that slip my mind right now. Basically the same truck I have leased for the past 26 months except a different colour and a few options that weren't available 2 yrs ago. Been real happy with this '22 PB.
Ah the new Lariat! I was just in one a few weeks ago and it was in the build batch without the new tailgate setup. If you do much highway driving.. BlueCruise is a blast to use
Couldn't figure out how to lock, thank you!
You're welcome!
Great, clear description. Thanks
You're welcome!
Nice,thanks!
you're welcome!
I like it. I just might purchase this storage with my Ford Reward Points. I just don’t have the Key Lock for the seat? Anyone know the Part # for that lock?
Don't believe the seat lock is available aftermarket..
Is there a way to lock the seats without the key? If so, can someone reply with the link?
Not unless you have a lock picking set...
I know this is an older video but what seat covers are those?
Just the regular seats for this trim of the F150.. You could probably find some Katzkin seats that are a similar color though!
Can you add this to truck if it didn’t come from factory with it?
The partitioned part you should be able to because it's bolted down, just need to rip a few things up to do it.. The lock would mean the full bench would need to be replaced with one that has it
What’s the part number for a 2022 platinum f-150? I can’t find it on ford parts and the dealers I’ve called seem baffled!?!
You have to get it from a scrap yard - there’s no option to buy from Ford directly
Is there a link and a discount code for this?
Nope.. it's not sold as a Ford part. You'd need to find one from a wrecked F150 at a local scrapyard or check out eBay. It's a bit of a pain to add it in aftermarket though
Where can i buy this for my 2020 f150??😩😩
Check out some local scrap yards or eBay! It's not available as a dealer accessory so you'd have to find one from a wrecked F150 to install in yours
What trim is that? I didnt know it came in black and white!
It's the 2022 Platinum!
What is the hidden compartment that lays directly underneath where the storable shifter lays down into?
If it's the little rectangle I'm thinking of that's to be able to start the truck if the keyfob has died. When a dead fob is placed there, the vehicle will recognize it and let you start the truck
I'm not sure, but will be trying to find out. But it's not where you place a dead key fob. The dead key fob "pocket" is at the bottom of one of the cup holders, underneath the rubber coaster.
@@waltermitty7452 yes I know about the key fob one .. this compartment is where the shifter lays down into so you can fold out the work station
@@dogtoes35 Right. I was trying to reply to Cars with Steve, who appeard to say that it was the way to start the car. I have a 2023, and as you know the cup holder is where the fob holder is to start the car. The little compartment where the shifter folds into has a door too. So far, I haven't been able to open this yet just using my nail. I am trying to figure out what this one is for myself though and will report back.
@@dogtoes35 I managed to pop off this little door last night (not super easy to do). It exposes a bolt. I assume it might have something to do with the gear linkage to the shifter but have no idea for sure.
is the the Lux Box , im trying to get a Rubber floor mat from ford ... im getting this 2 option with Lux box & without Lux Box...
FOR USE WITH CARPET FLOORING ONLY
NOT to be used with vinyl flooring.
Fits SuperCrew vehicles.
Only applicable to vehicles equipped with Lux Box.
If your truck has the partitioned storage (featured in this video) it should be the rubber mats with Lux. If yours doesn't have it, then it's without! Ford's Parts website lets you enter your VIN as well to make sure that you're selecting the right one
With the powerboost f150 is it kinda limited in space or is it the same?
It would be the same space!
Is the lockable storage completely removable if needed?
Not easily. It's bolted down.. so it could be removed but the removal/installation would be a pain
Is there a link to this product or brand name etc???
It's only a factory installed option so you can't buy it direct from a dealer. You could probably find one at a salvage yard though.. But it's bolted down so you'd need to find a way to get underneath the truck to lock it in and you'd also need to find an aftermarket seat with the lock on it or be ok with it not being lockable
Part number? I can't find it anywhere. I have a 2023 F150 platinum on order...I want to get that storage box before it gets here.
Thanks
No part number that I could find which is odd. The downside to doing the partitioned lockable storage aftermarket is that it wouldn't have the seat lock.
If yours hasn't been assembled yet you can probably get your dealer to add it on at the factory! It's order code "60P"
@@CarsWithSteve Well...tow things. 1.) I don't really care if it locks. 2.) I see the Platinum comes with it standard....So I should be good. The part number isn't 60P. That's the number of the "option" for Ford orders. I don't know how you'd get this exact storage aftermarket, based on what I've seen and read. Looks very "factory" to me.
@@YouDontKnow-that Yeah it's standard on the King Ranch, Platinum and Limited trims. I had mentioned the order code was 60P and that I couldn't find the actual part number but it's great that yours is going to have it!
The only thing you wouldn't be able to get aftermarket easily would be the lock on the side of the seat. But the actual storage area is just bolted down so it could get installed on pretty much any F150
@@CarsWithSteve I'm pretty sure, though not positive, that you don't have to pull the tab to push the seat up. Once it's pushed all the up, it will lock into place in the folded up position. You then need to use the tab to release it to put it in the down position. But, I don't think it locks in the down position unless you actually use the emergency key to lock it into position. At least that's what my truck does...I've never had to pull the tab to push the seat up.
