Milan is also a world capital of fashion and a host of the Winter Olympics in 2026. As there is so much to see I made this Milan Italy Travel Guide. I was there for an emergency trip but it was in the middle of the heat wave. Too hot to want to do anything so we didn't see much, but we did enjoy a lot of gelato and the water fountains to refill our bottles! Definitely have to go back to see more.

Was in Milan some yrs ago now and took in Duomo Cathedral inside and out where i ventured across street for a Galato and sat on steps of Duomo Cathedral in the warm sunshine to have .
Also done the tour of the San Siro stadium in Milan via metro station and bus in which was good the stadium that is
and my fav place to be inside both dressing rooms and my memories flooding back to when a young lad
to thoughts of where my fav football team once played in a European cup final
and their thoughts when i walked up the steps and along and up more steps then onto the ground
And then what a view them players must have experienced in such a big final .
Anyhow ye done also the trip to both Belgramo and Lake Como on different days when in Milan via train.

Amazing guide! Thank you for the effort. I would have focused the video a little bit more on Design as well - as Milan became one of the biggest World capitals for design in the last years, and there are so many unique events, shows and shops worth visiting all year round as you well know. Super useful guide anyway! Well done!

"The last years".... since the 1950s also as in the next decade chemists from Montedison and Montefibre surpassed Backelite, then the only alternative to wood or mineral based pastes and cements in shaping forms...with the invention of PLASTIC and a score of synthetic fibers (Nylon, Meraklon, Elastan and so on) opening up to the "plastic revolution" in household item Design in the 1960s and 1970s, a period in which Milano became the world center for modern industrial Design.
You can learn about all this in the Triennale permanent exhibitions right next to the "Torre Branca" and Sempione park that opens this video or by visiting the (open to the public) headquarters of ADI (Industrial Design Association) close to the Paolo Sarpi area.
I'm an ex member of ADI myself besides being a Milanese since generations. 🤗

However I am going to stay in Milan just for 4 days only, could you please recommend me THE MOST important places to manage to visit in summer ? Because I guess I won’t manage to visit all these 10 places within 4 days and not to get very tired also, I would like to enjoy Italian food, some little shopping, but also see MUST VISIT places for sure. Hello Rok, I stumbled upon your guide while researching what to do in Milan. I found your videos really informative and it makes me and my wife want to just pack up and travel around Europe for a couple months. My Wife and I are headed to Italy for Christmas/new years week. We will be there from Dec 23-Jan 2. Our first stop is in Milan. What do you recommend to do in Milan Christmas? My wife thinks it would be awesome attend a midnight mass.

I only ask because we are spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Milan and then we are headed to Florence on the 26th. Will the museums be open on Dec 24? I assume all the attractions are closed on Dec. 25th.

Thank you for the useful and informative video. Could you please advise if it would be better (faster?) to go to the rooftop at first, and then to go to look the cathedral. As far as I understood, when you descend from the rooftop, you will appear in the cathedral again. And if you enter the cathedral at first, then you will have to exit and to stand in another queue for the rooftop again as the entrances are separate. So, going to the rooftop first will allow you to avoid one odd queue?
Yes, rooftop first. Although, once you descend from the rooftop you enter an area separated by the rope from the rest of the cathedral. You can try to enter to the rest of the cathedral and with some luck, no-one will say anything.
