So glad that Courtney and Mike created Spiritbox after leaving iwrestledabearonce. This is probably going to be my top album of the year. So fresh and intense! The melodies with the heaviness is perfection.

Spiritbox has a way of making music that makes you have to listen more than once, and I don't mean in a bad way but it takes more than one listen to really gather everything they did together. Almost like you have to listen to the song for each member. They are so talented and mesh so well together and Sam's part really put a bow on this song. They are incredible and I can't wait to see them live.
So true. I mostly instantly know if there's potential for me to really like a song, but with Spiritbox it's usually a "I don't get it, it's too chaotic but I'm intrigued" and then proceeding to listen to the song several times before getting addicted for months or maybe even years, we'll see.

I have to say that "The Summit" is my new favourite song by them. It is truly beautiful and I do not know if it has received the praise it deserves.

Love how much time Sam was given on this song normally on features they come in for like a verse or something but he was utilised alot , such a iconic voice within the genre.
The transitions between songs on this album are incredibly seamless. I am living for this album right now. This and Silk in the Strings are my favorites right now.

Sun Killer, Hurt You, and Yellowjacket is such a great way to start the album. They all seamlessly go into each other, where it feels like an experience. Loathe’s last album had a similar experience. I usually can take and leave a lot of newer metalcore albums as a whole. But this is one I’ll probably listen to as a whole a lot more than a lot of bands.
Usually songs are merged with at least a bit of ambience but here Hurt You CHOP Yellowjacket, i was fkn shocked

@Call Me, BLEGH Me, If You Wanna Reach Me Silent Planet always gives gold! I love them! So yeah their album is probably going to be top contender for me. I’m also super excited for Whitechapel’s new album! I’ve always been a fan, but I haven’t really loved them until The Valley, so I’m jazzed to see what they do next. Also, I totally forgot that Phinehas had a new album! I just listened to it and it’s number 2 right now, and I haven’t been a huge fan of Darko but I’ll check out their new album. Just historically they haven’t really done it for me, but I’ll give them a chance for sure!
After a few album plays, I gotta say, it feels so wrong to listen to Yellowjacket without first listening to Hurt You, and the blend at the end.

The album is great and not just the same thing over and over. I think my runaway favorite so far is the surprisingly chilled out "the Summit" which comes right after this song on the album. It has a kind of "Be Quiet and Drive"-ish sort of vibe.

This song is great as is every song off this album. My favorite of the non singles is the opening track, "Sun Killer". So good!
Sun Killer is excellent. Really great way to start the album. Silk in the Strings really stands out too. I love the whole album.
