    Something I’ve noticed that doesn’t get enough recognition in this song is the ending riffs. The chaotic djenty riffs at the end are constructed in such a way that legitimately felt like If dementia could be a noise/sound....That was it. Like a haunting end to your life but that immediate relief when it’s all said and done with the ambient outdoor was a beautiful touch. That was artistically brilliant and captivated so much emotion.

    • @ClarkAd
      @ClarkAd 5 місяців тому

      The ending is really something else. I’ve always thought about the slow soft ending section after the end riffs as like when a person with dementia has everything come back right before they pass. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but regardless of the actual meaning the ending is really something beautiful. And I’m 3 years late lol

    she lived in an old farming town of maybe 500-800 people, we would see her almost every weekend. as she got older we actually saw her less and less. one day she had an accident that left her in a nursing home. and time spent with her only became less and less from then on. it was painful seeing her go through memory loss, and sleeping all day. she became less and less coherent, and unable to take care of herself. this song hits so close to home that it leaves me speechless. i love you oma, i can still see you smiling at us through the pines, always watching over us. rest easy.

    Ouch... right in the feels. I'm not crying, you are. Reminded me of my grandparents who I lost a few years back. My grandpa had dementia. We were with him at the end and he recognized who we were and that we were there. Wow... that was beautiful. 🥺

    They did get me to drop a tear in the past, because some songs were so well made und just awesome, but this one hit me on the emotional side from ground up without tricks and fancy, just with taste. How can you be a musician in the heavy genres and not fall in love with them...
    Great reaction/review.

    I first heard of Spiritbox from this channel, and I have had their tracks on repeat for a week now. I haven't found a band like this in 40 years of metal and music. They are really something special

    Pure art, so true. Dementia is a torture. Recommend checking out the film Alive Inside - the connection between music and dementia is incredible.

    So beautiful and sad. Every single time I've watched this video I can't hold back the tears. It reminds me of my grandma who lost her battle to cancer and dementia a couple years ago :(

    The subject matter of the video along with the music at the end getting slower and darker, and heavier just hits so hard in the feels. It conveys the slow and terrifying descent into dementia.

    I also lost my grandmother to dementia this year and god damn, this song is a masterpiece. Conveys so many emotions so perfectly and is an incredible balance between soft/melodic and heavy/aggressive without either taking away from the other. Absolutely beautiful.

    My grandmother died late 2019, she was in a home for the last 6 months or so and had deteriorated really badly with dementia. At the end she was almost completely gone. This track hits pretty hard.

    You're reaction to this song is the best i see so far and to be honest, every time i listen to this song, i cry every time because it's remind me my grandparents and people i see in the past drown in their dementia. It's heartbreaking
