- Mary Wilson performs a medley of 3 hits she made famous with the Supremes, including YOU CAN'T HURRY LOVE, COME SEE ABOUT ME, and BACK IN MY ARMS AGAIN.
Mary Wilson opened the second act of MICHAEL CHILDERS' ONE NIGHT ONLY "BACK TO THE SIXTIES" featuring 15 performers including Rufus Wainwright, Lou Christie, Lucie Arnaz, Loretta Divine and many more. The sold out concert was held at the McCallum Theater in Palm Desert to benefit Jewish Family Services of the Desert.
The show was directed by CALVIN REMSBERG with musical direction by RON ABEL, and produced by MICHAEL CHILDERS.

Mary was the glue that held the Supremes together. Loved her the best. She always shouted out Florence Ballard's name. Now she and Flo are back together " in each others arms again".

I saw Mary perform this medley in Sydney about 10 years ago. She introduced it as “a medley of songs that Florence Ballard and I sang together in the sixties.” 😂😂😂 THE SHADE!!! Rest In Peace, Legend ❤️

Listening to the Supremes' play list, it's difficult to hear anyone else in that role. Her initial success in the 1960s fuelled her onward stardom through the following decades. Her voice matured as she aged, but her feel for a song rather than the quality of her voice is what kept her at the top.

I've seen at least 20-interviews of Mary here on UA-cam. I think what kept her going and why she remained down-to-earth is her vivacious personality and her sense-of-humor. Always laughing, full of life, and I believe she had a heart of gold. With that said; it surprises me that she left this world so soon as she should have lived to be in her nineties....that I could picture. Such a wonderful lady and she will always remain "Supreme" in my memories of her.

ian bradley I wanna ask this question how can you argue with facts and the truth. If you can remember or did know all of the girls sang lead which means each one had and equal chance to shine as center or lead singer of the Supremes .Mary , Florence, and Diana all agreed in the beginning that whoever breaks out and lead the others would simply follow. Now they each had multiple chances to lead the group and finally Diana's turn came back around and Motown " Holland Dossier Holland gave the Supremes the song "Where Did Our Love Go" this song was supposedly passed over by all the other groups at Motown & the Supremes supposedly tried to pass this song as well and Berry told them who will you'll pass the song to you're the very last in the Motown line-up , and you'll have no one to pass nothing to , you'll have no hits at all who do you think you are , and yes you will sing this song ( where did our love go) .And it was Diana's turn to lead and Diana supposedly hated the song so much she cried and she sang it under protest hoping if she sing it the way she did would convince Berry Gordy to relent and them another song . So Diana went in singing the song trying mess the song up , but it was exactly the way Holland Dossier Holland wanted her sing it and to Diana's dismay and it became a hit but not just a hit but a monster hit for the Supremes I believe it stayed at no.1 for four straight weeks. And Berry has always said don't fix what not broken, and he kept her there at lead through all twelve no.1's . Now if Berry was guilty he was guilty in recognizing so to speak that the wheel in front of him / them the Supremes was already round you don't try to fix what's not broken. The public was eating the Supremes alive everything they did with Diana at the helm was a smashing success. So I really don't understand what all the vehement and near violence in attitude with people who have actual hate for Diana, when she did nothing wrong .she took nothing from anyone . Don't forget their promise to get behind whoever it is that leads . Everyone knows or should know the lead singer make more than the background but It was Diana who said no to giving her more money but instead divide the money evenly between us , we're a group and we'll split the pay evenly as a group . Diana did this even after Berry changed the name to Diana Ross and the Supremes. But Berry Gordy changed all the grouped names to the lead singer ,at the same time such as Smokey Roberson and the Miracles etc. People need to get past all that negative mess and stop directing all that hate toward Diana if you're gonna make Diana guilty her guit was affording us the public the opportunity to to witness the rise and shine of a truly phenomenal and breath taking exquisitely dressed , chic, their movements where smooth and very lady like all of this was done with Diana leading the group ,we all know that to be true may it could've or would've but we know this to be true and correct with Diana as the lead ,and anyone with any business acumen at all would be foolish to mess with a formula that's working . You have a business to run you go with what's working .In other words you don't go trying to make a round wheel round .You would be a fool to make try to make a round wheel round ! You cannot do it but you certainly can mess up a round wheel trying to make what already round , round I'm just sayin!
