    Nice to see a video featuring the Motown artists enjoying one another's company. Seems like people on the internet are always focusing on the competitiveness, conflicts, and drama of the Motown family.. No doubt there was competition among the artists but I'm sure there was much love and admiration for each other as well. These people were creating ART together. And yes, I consider it ART because it will last! The Motown singles are little works of art, and almost all of them sound just as good today as they did when they were first released. A lot of other "oldies but goodies" sound like oldies but goodies, still wonderful and nostalgic, but also sometimes dated. Then you turn your sound system up and put on "I Want You Back" or "My Guy" or "What's Going On"" or "Reach Out and Touch (Somebody's Hand)" or any of many other Motown hits and they are truly TIMELESS. I know there was a certain amount of tragedy and bad vibes among some of the Motown folks, but I prefer to just enjoy the magic and skip the gossip and drama. It was the creation of an amazing American success story for one man with a big dream and a surprisingly modest amount of money to invest to make that dream come true; let that be an inspiration to us all !

      As the recording studios became modern with super computerized 120 tracks and the such even back then you splinter a section of Motown to Hollywood and do movies and TV and let your Main line office stay in Detroit because a majority of the stars liked Detroit as home base, their SOUL was there. Philly-International didn't leave Philadelphia and go to New York of LA, Stax/Volt didn't leave Memphis either. I said then that was a bad idea and still believe it now, Motown went from Big Fish in a little bowl to a Little Fish in a Big Bowl. They where not going to out do Warner Bros. or Universal ETC. Send Diana and maybe Marvin everyone else stay in Detroit. Stay Strong

      No way,they made the right move...Berry Gordy is Genius,people down him for the business side,with contracts and all,but he took a lot of black people to a new way of life,not just working in factories and such,but musical and acting careers,i will always have much respect for Mr.Berry Gordy

    • @safeatthird6060
      @safeatthird6060 5 років тому +8

      If it's such a GENIUS move why did MOTOWN go out of business within almost 10 years of the move in '72 the sound that was created in Detroit was gone it was a shell of what once was, most of the top entertainers shifted to another label the Tops, Gladys, Jackson Five. Yes things change but watching and listening to Blues, Jazz, Rock and Roll from the 50's till now I'll bet that if the sound of young America would of stayed in Detroit it would be mega large and most of the main attractions would've stayed on and they would have more hits on the Motown label.

      MIss Ross does look fabulous..but notice only children will sit with her at the party...no other adults would have anything to do with the heffer.

      Diana always looked and still looks fabulous. She loved her kids, thats why she's surrounded by them. They've always been the most important things in her life.
      Incidentally, the word is *heifer* (correct spelling for the illiterate person here)

      @@jackanthony976 So you were there then?.... and you actually saw that Diana had nothing to do with any other adults that were there?...or I suppose that you've read that no adults would have anything to do with her on that day? Maybe you could enlighten us all by backing up your "statement" ??.....but I doubt it!

    When Gordy left Detroit, instead of having the decency to tell The Funk Brothers, the musicians who made all the hits and money for Gordy, he left a sign on the door of the empty Motown building saying that he and Motown had moved to LA. Apparently he thinks people are disposable. The Funk Brothers never got the recognition they deserved. Or the respect from Gordy. Not cool.

    Gee! I wish I can go back to meet all of Motown and including young Michael Jackson. Because back
    then you don't need no special ticket just to go to a park. But I'm very young at that time and I'm Los
    Angeles. But I wish I could go back to that histories and bring them all back life once again.
