Try installing some dopamine to your brain firmware prior to your recording. I like the image it gives when I record my own videos. Starbucks sells some decent short term solutions that work decently for this. But there’s only so much you can do to upgrade your internal hardware.
@@oneewrld The iphone X still looks like shit and, actually, having just watch his comparison video with the iphone, I'd say the One Plus looks better.
I could also tell them apart pretty easily, but the OnePlus 6 still has a surprising amount of dynamic range. Great video! My apples shall stay unpeeled!
You can definitely tell the difference between the Arri and the Oneplus in the flatness of the Arris picture and way better ability to deal with lighting situations - Like when the jeep drove past, at the last second as it got close to the camera the exposure started to adjust itself - The Oneplus also had absolutely no competition at night.... However.... For a $500 phone the similarities are way too crazy! Props to Oneplus for such a great camera at that price tag!
Can you please make video showing why the ARRi Alexa Mini is better than the Sony FS7 I actually really curious to see what the difference is pleaseeeeeeee
You're still like the only channel on the internet which clearly torture tests the cameras in difficult situation to show the real difference between pro and consumer level. Love it.. other dumbasses just do controlled tests with a color chart in a studio with studio lightning.. which is totaly useless
for a person who knows about cinematography and filmmaking, it's super easy to tell which is which. I often notice that in movies, the overall quality of the shots are always smooth and have a sort of, soft look to them, whereas stuff shot on phones are always super sharp and less cinematic looking
All things considered, the OnePlus does great! Obviously never going to come close, but in well lit scenes, you could totally use it for a short film :)
Thought this would turn into a weird «paid promotion» style video, but you made it into a «tips and tricks» video for people that actually thought the OP6 could seriously compete. Plus, you always have that fun vibe, well done!
Love your videos as always. Keeping it real- also that wide shot advice low key blew my mind. Thanks for the apple advice! I’ve been definitely eating more broccoli recently.
Hey love your video's! What phone would you recommend the most right now filming? Mate 20 pro? S9... or wait for the s10 next year? Will use it for addition shots in music video's. For the rest i usually use the Panasonic gh5.
They use video camera fixed lens for self shot pov style videos While for big budget videos they have anything for Sony Panasonic video cameras fixed or interchangeable And even high end might have blackmagic red arri Alexa
at 2:01 the green lens flare is a tell-tale of the phone lens, especially when your lens aren't wiped squeaky clean. I know because I shoot with the 6T
I like your style and I am subscribing! I believe that in no time, if you impove your game a little bit, you will easily pass the 1 million subscribers. You are authentic and fun and also scientific. First video I watch from you (run into this because I am considering buying the OnePlus 6). I would really love to have more explanation on what other things we could do to improve the video coming out of an OnePlus 6 (I like flag ship killer phones), like I was thinking ex. using the Zhiyun Smooth or DJI gimbals, a dedicated software for post production (which one do you think? I am not an iphone/apple person) etc. I mean in your video OnePlus6 was doing great in many instances, I was impressed. That's why I was considering what other things could we do? If those things proposed was in your video for a couple of minutes, it would make it even more interesting! Keep up the good work!
Love the part about oxidation and apples!! Lol Thank you for throwing in that bonus, something worth learning apart and while watching a techy video!! Keep up that great personality as well
That apple healthy tips was really good. I hate apples but after watching this video i think i gotta eat apples. Loved the video...would you mind to collab with me? Nah i am joking, i am still learning.
I have binged your videos this week because I think your style is the perfect combination of funny, relatable, and full of outstanding content. That being said, I have yet to get one of these right. Do you have a video showing the signs you look for in different shots to tell the quality of camera?
I noticed the Arri seems to generally have a bit of a green color cast. What do you think this comes from? WB shift? Lens? Sensor? Or is it the look you applied?
I can almost always tell which one is the Alexa because it mostly has that yellow green tinge, more dynamic range in highlights and darks, and overall just brighter.
You should totally make a cinematic video with any smartphone, and apply that wizardry magic to lessen the sharpness and balance the colors. Just to show people what they can achieve with a phone and not twisted hands ) and while showing it interrupt it for the explanation what you did there. and yeah , you're a cool dude, keep it up . Cheers from Ukraine.
i guessed all of them correct as arri akexa does not process the image to show better colors but one plus six or any other consumer smart phone has a post processing to show the colors better
So the conclusion, buy the Arri Camera. :)). Loved the video man! For me is easy to see the difference. Check the train in the second one to see how smooth is with the Arri.
Even on similar shots, it's easy to tell which is which if you've shot/ seen enough footage. The processing on phone cameras usually gives it away immediately. And it's not just a phone. Even modern mirrorless cameras that are so popular for shooting video these days (and are pretty good) have that compressed, low bit footage look, which isn't there when you're shooting RAW on a cine camera. Also, do phones generally record 4:2:2 or 4:2:0?
2:20 It's clear this is the oneplus's cam. Why? Look at the outlines of those buildings in the background. It's digitally sharpened and to my taste, over the top. The Arri Alexa doesn't have this kind of post processing at all. I wonder if I could still tell, if OP didn't do that sharpening though. Everything else looks pretty similar to me. 3:00 I'm not sure if you're really showing OP6's potential there. I feel like the footage of the OP6 has been compressed down a lot more than the Arri Alexa. Whether this has been done while filming or afterwards, I can clearly tell a difference in detail (looks like lossy compression). And this might not be the fault of the OP6 so I'm not sure if this is a reliable comparison.
Surprisingly enough, I though the OnePlus 6 looked better on the second test. Like, I knew it was the phone, because less organic colours and more saturations, but this would've been like *exactly* the way I would've graded that footage from the Alexa. But on YT it's not a fair comparison. Let's see them both competing on a cinema screen ;)
can you give the link to buy that 'charisma' you have?
Fotty Seven it's available on eBay but it depends on the seller

Lots of takes, and a distraction 👌
at 8:30 I was like what am I even doing here.
Yeap, that was the moment i paused the video then read this comment XD
That was the moment I subscribed 🤣
InstaBlaster.
The one with the soft and pretty picture is the Alexa and the one with the contrast and blown highlights is the phone. Every time.
And green hue. Classic Arri look that other cameras don't have.

please make a video on how to color grade your footage.
Your videos are always so entertaining! Love it! Keep up the good work. Much love from Egypt!
Are you going to compare the Red Hydrogen One Smartphone to the Arri Alexa?
The Arri viewfinder alone costs more than an FS7?! This changes everything I thought I knew about the value of things...
Can you please make video showing why the ARRi Alexa Mini is better than the Sony FS7 I actually really curious to see what the difference is pleaseeeeeeee

Pretty incredible what phones can do now, all things considered. Great video mate!
dude seriously.

i found you today, already watched a few vids and gotta say ... your videos are really worth it, totally enjoying this content!

Lots of stuff done right in this video, especially in the beginning. You just upped a level!!
Awsome performance of the One Plus 6. Didn't expect it to be *that* close in good lighting conditions.
Hi, i am upgrading my phone for video purpose, whats better a iphone 8, Samsung Note 9, or even this OP6? thx
some shots the oneplus looked better imo no weird green hue although with a raw recording that wouldnt be hard to fix on the alexa

Great video but i think Pixel 2 XL. Is great to test what do you think?
7:55 great parking skills btw
Used to shoot student films XD
I really liked that first scene you filmed with the Arri camera. Reminded me of movies from the good old 90’s. Nice one.
You should do GoPro vs arri alexa (either GoPro on linear mode of 4K)
Go check out Chris' video ;)
ModernYT 😂 how the fuk can he put that arri alexa in his head lol it's an easy win for a GoPro
OMG!! MATTI AND YOU FINALLY COLLABED!!

Is it possible to get that soft organic look with a phone too? Maybe some lenses or in post?
The Alexa always seems to have that green cast that’s how I normally tell!

are u using pro mode or normal camera in one plus 6? for video..are u using 4k or what?
make a comparison between latest iphone and some old second hand cinema camera that costs the same as a new iphone.
Matti ! another one of my subs ... nice cameo . Keep up good work🥔 🛩
Good to see matti. Peter and Matt were the channels I have been following.
Wow, you have such talent to film, edit, entertain and mostly make fun :D You deserve bigger audience!
scorsese and the coen brothers would appreciate matti's wide angle proclivity
