    I’ve been doing her (Lucy’s) workouts only for 3 months and dropped a dress size and a half. It does work but it takes more than a week for sure. I am very happy and think 7 min daily is very sustainable at least for me.

      I was done with Sydney (and admit this is dumb) when she made a dramatic short about how “everyone said I couldn’t do it.” The “it” being losing her baby weight.
      Literally NOBODY said that to her. Her entire community worships the ground she walks on. Everyone was happy for her. Nobody cared that she gained weight, which is normal when you HAVE A BABY.

    I’m so glad I’ve learned not to take these “marketing” phrases seriously, and your breakdown from the textbook was really helpful! I admit I still have some of these kinds of videos in my playlist rotation. I hate 99% of cardio workouts and many of these walking workout/“bodyweight fat burn” videos at least help me raise my heart rate for 20-30 minutes without getting too bored or frustrated. That’s the extent of my expectations from them now.

    I did one of her walking workouts and thought she would be fine for someone like my boomer mom, who is in her seventies and is really intimidated by gyms, weights, length etc. They all seemed to have grown up thinking that all movement and strength is unfeminine and unachievable, so they think they need something super quick, super gentle, super boring

    Totally unrelated and also uncalled comment, but you've always reminded me of someone very famous since the very first time I saw you, and now, after 3 years of super intense brain work, I finally know the name: it's Kristen Bell! I mean, it's not even like you two are THAT similar (yeah, maybe the eye shape and the colors in general), but I feel like you share the same mischievous but very bright and kind vibes. I don't know, it's strange! It suddenly came all to my mind when I saw and heard you singing to Zooey, it was totally random! Anyway, thank you so much for taking yet another one for the team, just know we all shared your suffering during the whole thing (I think I finally lost it when you started rolling your hands in circle without any apparent reason). There are 2 reasons why most cardio machines in gyms have “fat burning zone” on them: 1 - it sounds great (in the words of Homer Simpson: “woohoo! Look at that blubber fly!” )
    2 - it’s takes so little effort (some people can get there by just bending over to tie their shoes 🥵).
    As for spot reduction? Technically possible, but it does involve amputation which is a bit of a bummer 😉

    You might get more out of the workout if you drop it into deep water aerobics. We do a lot of those moves, but the water adds resistance, and with water gloves you can up the intensity. Otherwise, yep weights are the way to go.

    You can talk all you want. I work out with Lucy five days a week and have done so since 2018. I lost 96 pounds, (65 pounds in the first year) and have kept it all off. She is the only person I have ever followed and haven't spent a single penny on losing weight. I am half of the weight I used to be. Half. At 40 years old, I have never been more fit or felt better. And I owe it to lwrfitness. If you want results, it isn't a complicated math formula. Move your body. Stand up and get moving. You can tone in your living room. You can work out in your garage. You can get healthy, without lifting heavy weights--all you need is body weight. Your own body weight. I never ran before I turned 36--I run every other day now. I'm not sitting on my bed talking trash on someone that has dedicated their life to the health of others. I wanted a lean toned body, and Lucy Wyndham-Reade helped me get it!

    The target group of Lucy are women that do not work out at all. If you have watched her Ted Talk, the purpose she started with the free youtube videos is her aim to make the ppl who have little or no movement to start moving regularly with workouts that do not seem intimidating or impossible to be done. And yes, for ppl who do not like to workout those workouts are a great way to add steps/mobility exercises to your habits. For all of you doing hard intense workouts or lifting weights those workouts may seem not working, but for maaaany many people they are literally a life saver - not sure if you know, but there are many doctors around the world who recommend her workouts to their patients.

    • @JustinaErcole
      @JustinaErcole  Місяць тому +2

      I love that! But can’t she do the same thing without lying? Why not create beginner workouts that are actually rooted in science?

    • @user-he7qd5zo9h
      @user-he7qd5zo9h Місяць тому

      @@JustinaErcole
      As a person who follows her daily, i think that most of her content is actually based on science - her exercises are so called multi compound and multi directional moves, which include more muscle groups, all three ranges of motion - I believe its logical if more muscles get toned - toned muscles- higher metabolism (as far as what I've read and heard not only from her). Also, she does live video every Thursday and some of the topics are medical conditions like diabetes pcos etc.
      Also she does a lot of videos for menopause (my both parents are doctors and I have spoken with them - her info is not misleading). Her message is to workout not to look in a certain way, but to feel good, mobilised, energised.
      I have done around 30-40 minutes of her workouts for a certain period of time and included more walking as well - indeed I lost some weight even though I did not change significantly my eating habits. Don't get me wrong, I am not someone who works out only with her (currently doing pilates bcs of issues with my spine - I should avoid high impact at any cost), but I did not felt quite ok for someone whose mission in life is helping people ( I follow her online since 2017) to be accused to lie. Thats all.

    • @JustinaErcole
      @JustinaErcole  Місяць тому +2

      I just scrolled through her UA-cam page and nearly every video title and/or description is a lie. The video I did daily for a week is riddled with lies. Even the statements you’re making (I don’t blame you, I blame Lucy) are lies. You cannot tone a muscle. Moving in more planes of motion does not raise your metabolic rate. I’m thrilled you found someone you enjoy moving with, but it should not come at the expense of misinformation.

All thanks to Lucy, GWJ, Mr. London, BodyNow to name a few. I’m lean and have definition and muscle that I never had before! Plus, I’ve not been a size 6 in decades!! Let alone the fact I’ve maintained for well over a year! If you’ve not tried it I’d suggest you do for your own research!

    The thing with LWR is that her demographic tends to be women over 60....and that generation still tends to think in those terms (sculpt, tone, etc)...she does usually mention the diet aspect and that you should repeat the 7 minute sequence several times. But, ya... misleading but targeted to an audience that thinks that way

    I think that everybody with a minimum of commen sense knows that he will not get slim and toned arms in 7 days. Her audience is mainly older people, beginners, overweight, etc. It helps people, that are not gym buddies or guros of the fitness world to get on ther feet and to move and not sitting on the couch. It has helped quiet a lot of people who start with 7 minutes but than build up on this. This is called motivation.

      She helps people to get healthy that normally are no fitness person. She puts a lot of effort into being creative and a lot of her 7 minute workout really work. Not because they really target the belly fat, as we all no you can not spot reduce, but because the people start moving and commit to something and for that reason they start loosing inches and because its fun. She uses it to clickbait, of course she does, but I have heard of others that use the names of way more fameous youtubers than themselves as clickbait for their videos and than they even soy mainly negatve stuff so they can pretend that what they are doing i so much more ethical.

  • @jrnmrn

    Lucy has helped me tremendously! Has a banging body and by the way, she flat out says you CANNOT SPOT REDUCE! She is one of the most positive exercise influencers out there! I myself have dropped 70 pounds, went from a size 16 to a very comfortable 6 and have maintained this weightloss and toned body for 16 months now. How you might ask?? By alternating GWJ, Mr. London, my girl Lucy, you felt the need to hate on, and BodyNow. All of those groups are filled with positivity and kindness. Unlike this cyber bully who claims to be a dancer while she disses amazing award winning influencers mean while her own diet and exercise looks like it’s in need of a tune up.
    Why so much hate? Real life Regina’s are typically tolerated for too long! Hope you find peace, self love, and enlightenment positive vibes so you really do end the hateful videos dissing others that have way more positive vibes and followers than you. Sad!

      Hey Jennifer! Even if Lucy has said somewhere that you can’t spot reduce fat, she contradicts it in many of her marketing tactics. I’m thrilled that you met your goal! But you shouldn’t have to be lied to by people with large followings in the process.
      On a more serious note, I highly recommend you don’t go around telling people they need to tune up their diet and exercise. I’m finally very secure with how my body serves me after years of restriction and obsession. But there are a lot of people out there who would spiral at that comment. Take your own advice Regina.

    I do admire Lucy’s back story but those workouts looked like warmups. And not very good ones at that. The only positive is that she gets people off the couch. But I know some women who do her workouts and think that’s all they need. They say there’s no need to add weights. Very sad.
