It would be easy to make an elbow for the exhaust, or have an exhaust place cut the flange and flip it so you can flip the exhaust around, then just use some scrap metal to make a little support for it. Cool little kart man. Looks fun!
or to redirect the exhaust behind the cart you go to a muffler shop and and have them to bend a Jay tube that would clear the bottom of your muffler and extend all the way out the rear. that would probably be the cheapest and you wouldn't have to remove the existing muffler and have to deal with replacing gaskets and so forth.
the stock mufflers exhaust in the wrong direction on these engines. you see at the beginning of the video that the muffler exhaust right by the rider's face facing forward. you can replace the stock muffler and get a set of dual back swept pipes. easy fix.

I built a full suspension buggy and put a KX 500 2 stroke on it years ago . My shifter sucked at first. They didn't have all the aftermarket go kart crap they got now . You'd hit a bump and it'd down shift lol 🤣🤣🤣
