I have an offroad buggy that I built years ago. One of the early iterations used the Comet clutches, like yours, with the 7/8 inch belt. It wasn't the best setup because the belt would slip, just like you see hear when you're driving slow. The fix was to go with the larger Comet clutches and their 1-3/16 belt. In my case, the Duster clutches, but with your horsepower, the Comet 780 clutches would be a good fit. You will find a night and day difference when you run that buggy with a heavier duty clutch setup. Really enjoying your builds.
I’ve been looking at the 780 setups. I know if I get some more ponies out of that predator the 40 series could become a problem. The belt doesn’t slip too badly when just driving it normal, just when I go really slow. I’m going to tune the clutch weights to see if I can get a little more low end power. I do love tinkering with this and it’s my favorite in the aspect I can keep adding stuff to it and keep upgrading it. Humble beginnings as a budget kart could turn out to be the most well rounded. Thank you for the comment 👍
When I switched from the 40 series to the 44 series it was like magic. Everything works so well and nothing gets hot. I have an assortment of weights (pucks) on the way to dial in the power band. It engages about 800 rpm too soon and I want to do biiiig burnouts, drifts and climb anything.
It has worked out really well. I’ve changed the belt twice and had to replace one of the pulley gears because it was plastic. The drill press vice is what makes everything so much easier.
well what are you looking for? There have been motorcycle engines, atv engines, snowmobile engines and generator engines used all from the same set of plans and UA-cam videos. And I'm doing this to help garage fabricators, not to get customers. I'm a military aviator of 23 years and still going. I wish you the best.
That’s how I do it. I set it up for multiple shock positions and have two sets of tires so anywhere can be a fun place to play. I hope to see your build.
I was in the Army and at OSU for engineering when the towers were hit. My military career continued and I never got to finish my degree. I guess now I get to do both of the things I’ve always wanted to do.
I really do like this CrossKart design. How is it to mount an ATV chain gearbox? I have a Polaris 350L Trail Boss 4x4 gearbox with chain out put. Thinking best way if I get these CrossKart plans, I would have to mount the engine right on top of the gearbox.

i love what you do by the way :D it makes me want to build things with suspension
Thank’s man! It’s so fun building this stuff.
Oh snap, right from fort mac
Welp now I know what I’m building…
I love the articulation
This one turned out waaaaaay better than I thought it would. Waiting on spring to tackle some trails!!!! Thank you so much!
Bad ass bud..! Surprised just how well the Predator motor works in it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
They are all surprising about how fast they are. I am VERY pleased with the predator, I can’t wait to drive it with a few power adders!
@@KJRaycing Stage 3 or 4🤣
Loving the safari mode, looks great!
Thanks, man, I really appreciate it!
You know what would be cool. Build like an overland version and take a off road camping trip
I
LOVE
SAFARI
MODE!!!!!!!
We will need you at Busco for some trail riding!!
I can’t wait to do some trails at busco with you guys!
The lack of floor is terrifying.
Broken legs would really suck.
Everything else is awesome.
Security is an important point. When I made mine, I already did it with steel side and bottom protections.
Yeah I guess a floor should be next 😁. We get so used to testing them without floor that it’s not a big deal, even for my 9 year old daughter…
@@KJRaycing as a father I couldn’t imagine the guilt I’d feel if my baby got hurt.
I love what you’re doing, thanks for sharing.
@@KJRaycing I understand, but there is a risk of getting hurt on a trail or even being pierced by a tree branch.
Let me know if you ever want to go to AOAA or Lost Trails in Pa. I would love to go with my buggy and shoot some video. Great Job as always!
More riding is definitely in the plans! I love the tinkering but getting on some trails sounds super fun! Thank you for the invite 👍
How's that 44 series Torque Converter working for you? Any belt slipping? I've tried the same clutch but didn't work out for me

Awesome
Freaking outstanding.
Thank you so much.
I wanna see you air these bad boys out!
Check out the instagram for all the action shots and not the talking. @kjraycing
@@KJRaycing we are currently in the starting phase, gonna build one next month!
Excellent! I can’t wait to see the progress, I love new builds!
Very good!
Thank you.
What kind of speed are you getting with that moto?
i am happy to see your video may i get the information for the size of the rear wheel and front wheel thanks master
This is running 23” all terrain tires on 12” wheels 👍
Rock and roll 🤘
what size countershaft sprocket are u using?
11/60 is the ratio
How’s that drill press you have? Iam Just starting out and there’s so many different drill press out there
It has worked out really well. I’ve changed the belt twice and had to replace one of the pulley gears because it was plastic. The drill press vice is what makes everything so much easier.
I have looked around your website. Can't seem to find any place that suggests or recommends engines. Point me in the right direction please.
That's what the UA-cam channel and Facebook group are for 👍
@@KJRaycing Looked there too. Didn't see what I am looking for. I guess that's a quick way to loose a potential customer.

Is there a way to get in touch with you if I have any questions about the cart blue prints while I’m building?
That’s why I made the Facebook build group; you have the assistance of ALL the builders (and me). Check the description for the link 👍
@@KJRaycing awesome thanks !
IF I do anything? It’ll be for Sand & off-road set-ups. So you can just change tires & easily set-up for 1 or other
That’s how I do it. I set it up for multiple shock positions and have two sets of tires so anywhere can be a fun place to play. I hope to see your build.
It amazing and also I've always wanted to ask you if your builds are part of mechanical engineering

Well The next upgrade for this one is a polaris sportsman 400 two stroke so we will find out (spoiler alert it’s going to be awesome).
Floor pan?
It will get a pan in final assembly like all of the other karts I’ve built.
