Imagine losing a child the way she did and having to live her life with the loss, grief and sense of injustice. Emmett was just 14, full of dreams and aspirations. They had to relive this tragic experience. They are so strong just like many of us who experience tragedy. I learned about this when I was in the 6th grade. It’s always been on my mind and in my heart.
No matter how much Mamie cried and fought for young Emmett justice wasn't done. Don't worry justice will indeed be done in the next life.
The first episode was so sad to watch especially when they showed the body. It made sense why they were trying to cover the crime up. Terrible what they did to him.
It shows that even white Mississippians who supported Jim crow knew this was a sick, barbaric murder.
The women who falsely accused Emmett is still alive. It really goes to show you that this “history” wasn’t too long ago. #JusticeforEmmettTill
How she was able to live for decades with herself being indirectly responsible for Emmett's death, we'll never know. She even admitted she lied in the trial in 2007.
Need to lock her a*s up for the rest of her couple years left.. Lying a*s woman.
It also shows with all the other crap going on. There's still no justice being served. She's a free 88 year old white woman living who confessed to perjury. I don't mean to have a mean soul but somebody should have made her suffer.
@@staceymims4759 She deserves to rot in prison, but she has to live with the public shame and tarnishing of her name following the release of this overdue show, and I think that is a form of justice we can agree on.
@@Tha-Maine-Owner Just think, at least we can find solace in the fact that due to this fantastic show, Carolyn Bryant is widely revealed to be the accessory to murder she always was. I have been watching this. Such a heart wrenching story. What that poor child had to go through.
Heart wrenching! Ms Mamie was a real one
This is so so sad that these people did such a horrible deadly act towards this young man! I was only one years old. They were never, never was charged or convicted for this crime!!! Please read the 'The Making of A Slave" as well!
They were charged and they got off even though there was eyewitnesses
He wasn’t a young man. Let’s call him what he was: a 14 year old BOY. A CHILD.
@@kaylabostic9705 💯 I was going to say the same thing! He was a Child! No where near a Man or Young Man! Ppl will call a Black child who is age 10 a young man. While calling an 19yr old White adult a Kid or “he’s just a boy” …. I am so sick of Our children being aged way before their time and it being weaponized against them, cheating them of their innocence/Childhood and erasing the margin for error that a child is allowed as they grow thru the stages of life and learn.
Calling him a Young Man minimizes and invalidates that a YOUNG CHILD was Brutally murder by fully grown “Men” who were savages and could care less about the Life of a Black Child! Seriously mothers/parents are amazing for their undying love and support for their children. Emmett and Ahmauds mother fought for their voices to be heard, didnt let anyone block their way in getting justice for their kids.
Sadly they never got justice. She tried hard but it didn't happen. Those men that killed Emmett never went to prison and were acquitted. They died free men, which is a total insult. The wife of one of the men that accused Emmett of advances is still alive and she initially came out saying she lied but then later denied lying. It's so not right especially since those men confessed killing to a magazine. Mamie at least was able to inspire the civil rights movement but justice was never served in this case. I hope that Emmett and his mother Mamie are now reunited in heaven.

A story I heard as a youngin that I will never forget!
I just watched the ABC tv special and I did not care for how there was a sense of compassion or hesitation shown by the woman who accused Emmett Till when she was backed into a corner by her husband. Almost as if she didn't want to get that child in trouble saying that she "handled it" herself, when inactuality she did lie and told on him.
That night one of Emmet's family members heard a woman's saying "It's him" just after the killers took him out of the house. That was probably Carolyn too. The brothers also had black workers and an eyewitness confirms at least one of them was there in the barn when the boy was tortured and killed. That worker might have talked if the government gave him immunity or something but of course, nobody in power really wants to see any actual arrests. I saw an interview with him "Didn't see nothing, didn't do nothing". Yeah, right.
Always profiting off our pain. May the ultimate judge, The Most High God bring his wrath and judgment upon the wicked. This country has blood on it's hands and payback has begun.

“None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good,

"And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man: they
ate, drank, married, married, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed everyone.
Just as it was in the days of Lot: they ate, drank, bought, sold, planted, built; but on the day that Lot left Sodom, a rain of fire and brimstone fell from heaven and destroyed everyone; so it will be on the day when the Son of Man appears. On that day, whoever is on the roof, and his things are in the house, do not go down to take them; and whoever is in the field, also do not turn back. Remember Lotova's wife.
Whoever saves his soul will destroy it; and whoever destroys it will revive it.
I tell you: that night there will be two on the same bed: one will take, and the other will remain; two will grind together: one will take, and the other will remain; two will be in the field: one will take, and the other will remain."

15 But outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and adulterers, and murderers, and idolaters, and everyone who loves and does unrighteousness.
16 I, Jesus, have sent my angel to witness these things to you in the churches. I am the root and descendant of David, the bright and morning star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And let him who hears say: Come! Let him who is thirsty come, and let him who is willing take the water of life for free.
18 And I also testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds anything to them, God will put on him the plagues that are written in this book;
19 And if anyone takes away anything from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his participation in the book of life, and in the holy city, and in what is written in this book.
