Can you take us through the steps you take with a client to determine the best thread wrapping color combinations to use on a double guide foot or thread wraps? Basically, how do you determine your choice of colors from inception to actually working on a rod blank? I’ve learned a lot from your videos, thank you!

Your comment about Bennigans Monte Christo Sandwich is 100% spot on. They were the best. You said something about "burnishing properly". What exactly is burnishing properly? You could incorporate a demonstration of it in one of your upcoming how to videos. I think it would be very beneficial to the community. Good luck with the boat my friend.

your Videos have been very helpful and entertaining - I think I started watching you on a boat you were rebuilding - I just put new thread on a 35-year-old Daiwa rod using ProKote last Sat and this is the next Sat and still tacky - Just order some Flexcoat to put on as another coat in hopes I do not have to strip the entire rod again and start over - I coated the entire rod, not just the tread before I knew it would not dry - I have at least 5 or 6 more rods to rebuild from the 80's and 90's plus my first rod bought in Key West in 1967 just before I got out of the Navy there -

Was happy to see a new video pop up this morning. Figured you have been busy with a bunch of projects. In the down time I have been going back through your videos. As a new rod builder, have only built four, I really enjoy the recipe videos. Helps me wade through all the component options. I just built a static test jig based on yours and used it last week for a spinning set up. Thanks for all the information.

One idea for a video: I have a devil of a time holding the small eyelets on the rod when I start wrapping. The small red rubber bands help but I still drop them, knock them off, they twist on me, I find myself looking for them on the floor etc. Sometimes I say bad words.

I've had problems with my Gen 2 wrapper pedal also. I'm on my 3rd one. I just put the white one on and so far so good. I'm looking forward to seeing if it's the same one that you are now using. Thanks for the info.

I just had my second gen2 wrapper pedal die. They're sending me 3rd one.
This was my first power wrapper, I'd likely go with a flex coat next time.

Have you ever done any centerpin rod builds or any tips/tricks for building long light line rated blanks? I'm just getting into rod building and my first build to break me in and learn on is going to be a rod geeks 15' centerpin blank.
Sorry, but no. The longest I've done is 10' fly rods. The build should be similar, but I'm not the expert at long multi piece rods.
