And -- from what I've seen on the Amazon ... they make an offset version of this trimmer of which I would have origionally bought... I had no idea.

    Interesting
Bought a few of these from Ali not rebaged as Dr slick.
They are pretty decent for what they are compared to Abel and other expensive nippers

I saw that Ali had something similar but those have an exposed spring - but they do have a clasp lock of which I wish the Dr Slick would have had. Maybe it’s 6’s - I don’t know if the Ali has the repair kit parts though.

@@JSturr those you refer to i didn't yet buy as they were more expensive and I was unsure about if I'd like at all and the reliability of that exposed spring. They might be more practical at a work bench where you spool reels/perhaps tie flies or in tackle box only. I ordered a couple that look exactly identical to the Dr slick for under $6 ea.
There are at least 3 types that look really close to the Dr slick ranging from $5-$10 then the histar/other with the spring and the clasp were $13-$15, ones where they nippers are on the side at the end instead of directly on the end, there are some that are like semi needle nose Pliers and the clipper inside but of the same basic dimensions and these dont look practical. Then there is one that looks like the old standard Abel, Dr slick etc that are like old fashioned nail clippers but with no fold out arm....but has these same blades on end though there weren't any replacement blades availability when I looked (sold out in listing). Those last ones that are basically a V shape you push together to nip were about $15 and I thought I'd that with other cheaper.
