Everybody was tired of Consort Jia's behavior.
I hate the way this actress speaks. Very cheap like. Even a normal conversation sounds insultung the other party. Her voice is not refined at all.
@@manofernando9918 if u hate her, then the actress is doing her job properly
@@thebookofj its her voice I find very rude.
@@manofernando9918 thats why she get the job
Consort Jia's character is poorly written. She was described as very sly and cunning in the earlier episodes, then later she suddenly became "foolish" and easily tricked by others. After Ruyi became the empress, Consort Jia transform into arrogant foolish woman who can only rely on her background and give birth to kids.
I haven't watched this drama, only these UA-cam clips but from those, consort Jia is a gaslight QUEEN. Damn lol. She always says something rude as shit, acts all arrogant and never without her signature 'I have something stuck way up my ass' glare. When the other women calls her out on her shit, she all of a sudden is a victim and feels like she's being bullied lol. That's grade AAA sociopathic tendencies. That being said, to make me loathe this girl so much only means this actress did a very good job portraying this character!
From watching these clips I learned that if I’m ever a royal concubine, I’m keeping my mouth shut at all times lol damn these ladies be twisting your own words against you
I know but even in silence they would twist ur words. I would not be able to last long. I am a jealous and petty person most of the time. I could not compete for no disloyal man.
she had more than 11 people killed... sh'es not innocent!!
the silent you are, the easier you die or get bullied though
@@randydandy8196 that's another day in my office..
But.that's how female-to-female interaction happen in daily lives.... The tendency of females to read between the lines and pay attention to even the smallest details natually make them do that to each other, even to their children and spouse.
In real life, Empress Xioxian actually got sick and passed away while traveling with the Emperor. The poem he wrote for her elegy is beautiful and heartbreaking.
Is there a copy of that poem. I'm honestly curious!
@@emnhika ah you have them mixed up, Empress Xiaoxian was the first empress, the main character of this drama is historically known as the Step-Empress who became the empress after the death of Xiaoxian Empress
@@angelawong1544 oh yeh, i messed up... the name lol
@@emnhika you got the wrong empress
She really insulted the dead Empress and prince and sassed the current one and is being pissy about being on house arrest and having to paint flags? Shes lucky she didnt get demoted or sent to the cold palace
The audible rattling of her teacup giving her away, Jia sure knew how to hide her misdeeds
It was not her.
Jia tried to kill Concubine Mei, luckily it was the parrot that ate the poisonous rice
@@southernbelle6200 jia was formed for the dog incident and others.
@@kristinesharp6286 Agree she was not guilty for Jingsi's death but for all the other crimes she confessed to Ruyi at their last meeting
@@southernbelle6200 she was not guilty for both 5th and 6th princess… Remember the really nice one miscarried after the dog incident. Jia didn’t try and kill the brother of the 5th princess. The former Empress was involved in some of the things as well she “confessed” to. She didn’t kill the empress but she did put suspicion on another person though. She was a foreign concubine treated badly by everyone. Her kids already had it stacked against them. There was no way she would empress.
I love ruyi's voice, very deep and charismatic
ok but how are they all able to speak synchronized on the spot like that 😭
My guess would be that they were groomed in court etiquette from the time they were young so they would know how to speak and exactly what to say?
You see lots of examples of people speaking in sync in these period dramas when they're speaking to royalty so I guess it was a cultural thing?
Because they are well educated. Those concubine are from noble families and they have been trained since they were young
When I was a kid in school, every morning at assembly we would chant 'good morning Mrs X and teachers'
@@zoeaargh so was i! And whenever a visitor or a teacher comes in, we also greet them in unison :)
They practice before hand 😂 I bet they talk shit behind Consort Jia's back and they have this secret signal to indicate what to say next in sync.
This is like an action movie, of machine gun tounges of ladies pleasantries.
that's why they call the imperial harem "the warzone of floral words and bloodshed" lol
@@janecarlaa.6413 while the men, battle for conquering lands, the ladies have more dangerous battles in attaining titles.
@@johngee8774 yes, since the higher you are the more chances of survival
@@janecarlaa.6413 that i agree ;)
@@johngee8774 the women getting titles and power could transfer to their families, as well as they, were usually concerned with their clans
She disrespected the emperors dead child. I could hear the contempt in her voice even though I don’t speak Chinese. No wonder the empress was angry. Her and the concubines were all grieving the loss of the child and their friend.
Lots of comments are hating on Jia...which obviously means the actress is doing a good job on portraying Jia. #hatersgonnahate
The actress did an awesome job!
Most Chinese dramas have characters where their voices are very annoying. But this one is so nice. I love the poise in their voices
Some of those are dub, this one feels the actresses really used their voice
I don't usually watch these type of dramas, but these clips are really interesting. And the Empress seems like an exceptional woman. I like her voice, and her poise.
Lol consort jia gave me Karen vibes when she said she was being bullied and she’d tell His Majesty how mean they all were.
The actress's acting made me feel like disciplining her so badly😅 for a moment even though i've only seen her once😅😅😅
Real good at portraying character as my point❤❤✨️
The empress is pretty good too✨️✨️✨️
The emperor didn't care about noble consort Jia hurting the other women in the harem, he only got rid of her after she secretly came after him with her son.
Usually i’m not into chinese drama especially a concubine drama like this. But damn ain’t it juicy to look at. Sorry i’m still gery new to this, but damn the characters and stern in their voice and composure is really what sells me here.
Me too! Especially the empress here, she speaks softly yet sounds authorative and sultry, it's somewhat fascinating
Jia's voice is very ugly
@@manofernando9918 well... her character personality is meant to have a sinister yet ‘childish’ tone to her voice. Therefore the audience could differentiate the antagonistic trait of a character. Sure her voice is odd but the voice fits her role perfectly.
title???
@@yukii150 Sorry i don't know about the title :(
I swear I’ve just seen a similar scene this morning where the empress was wearing red…😳
The one were ear gt pierced ??
@@Binumoll44 yes haha! ☺️
Me today. Just watched the Red clip and now this then saw your comment lol
Same here 😂😂😂
She was lucky (Jia) not being demoted nor sent to Cold Palace, but only to make requiem flag for insulting the dead empress as punishment. Last time when she wearing red dress upon ceremonial of new empress, she was pierced by big earloop earring. That's hurt.
I guess things like this is also where he lost interest with Ruyi. He never liked being controlled or questioned.
I find that ironic that during this scene he says one suspicion and no evidence does not lead to guilty guilty but all he had when thinking about Ruyi and Li Yunche was suspicion and no evidence which is crazy That he could say it like that but he believed all the suspicions in the world when it involved them.
this noble consort jia doesnt know when to shut up eh. 😂
For real
I have only seen the clips of this drama/film and everything seems so artistic? The props, clothes, camera work, BGM and actors and actresses do an amazing job too. Also the voice of this empress is so soothing to hear.
The series is available on UA-cam for free. You just need an American vpn
5:03 the design on her clothes 🥰
I gather it after watching several Chinese period dramas that the lady ranking highest among concubines -- second only to the empress -- is always in a "villainous" position, or at least that's how she's portrayed in the media. Charles Darwin's Survival of the Fittest, and Struggle for Existence comes alive here. 😂
I've also found them as villainess *like all the time😂*
*The media sure targets them😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂*
That must suck that all those women get a turn with your husband lol 😂 and you have to sit there and not beat the crap out of them.
He is an @ so I’m sure they consider it a break.
It wouldn't register to them as something to be jealous about because its normal to them. When someone sneezes and you say "bless you", you're not literally blessing them are you? Its just something you're used to and don't think about anymore.
@@robins2819 They are all jealous regardless which is one of the main reasons why they usually don't get along and never will few women want to share their man plus when they have children they have to compete to get their children to the throne over the next women plus how themselves and the children are favoured is a next issue
@@Introvertsan Many of the women in these dramas treat each other as sisters and they even adopt/raise another ones children. Of course, there are bad (jealous) apples in every basket, but this situation was normal for them. They were raised in that environment. Their fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers etc. all had multiple consorts. It was normal. They didn't know another way of life. In this series, there's actually a scene where the Empress doesn't understand how European men can have a single wife.
I swear, no one does drama like Asia. This is like the 7th show that has more drama than Spanish telenovella
Actually, Jia was the most smartest player in early game. She's a great villain tbh
Man Zhou Xun's acting is elegant and the voice is so majestic...
One of my favorite series! I’ve already watched it twice. I think I’ll watch it again!
Such refined uppity bonchincheria. 😂

how much do they cost
I need them for those daily bitches in the office.
Just one glaring error in a series I am beginning to love. The budgerigars in the cage. Not common in China until the 20th century and no blue budgie existed until later in the 20 century. Green is their natural colour all others are man made.
Not common, doesn't mean it don't exist. They are gifts from foreigners.
@@tomoe6792 as this is pre 20th century blue budgerigars did not exist. My words 'not common' were in error. They should have been 'did not exist anywhere'.
If I was Ruyi I would have had Jia exiled from the Kingdom, as she was nothing but a cancer and a backstabber. I would love to have a wife like Ruyi, so beautiful, wise, kind, and considerate. Definitely would make me a much better person.
These women suffered so much 😢

Imperial Noble Consort Huixian = "Noble Consort Gao"
(Lady Gaogiya had no honorific title during her lifetime, even when she was Noble Consort (as attested in the scroll painting by Giuseppe Castiglione (Lang Shining) of Qianlong and his harem, currently at a Cleveland museum), hence "Noble Consort Gao" is a bit wrong and disrespectful at the least...)
also why is Noble Consort Jia from the "Yu clan" (玉氏) when she's from the Gingiya clan (金佳氏), no matter her name here is "Jin Yuyan" (金玉妍)
This is not directly derived from the real history of Qing dynasty but from a Novel Hou Gong Ru Yi Zhuan although some of the characters and story is from real life of Empress Ruyi.
Historical fiction.
金玉妍(Jin Yuyan)=김옥연(Kim Ogyeon)
玉氏王爷 李昑(Yu Clan His Majesty/Li Qin)=조선 영조 이금(朝鲜英祖 李昑) (Joseon Yeongjo/Lee Geum)
金氏/Jin Shi=Jin Clan/Kim Clan(金氏一族).(Jin/Kim is surname)
玉氏/Yu Shi(Yu Clan)/朝鲜/Chaoxian=Joseon Dynasty
Noble Consult Jia's clan is Korean from North Korea in history. In fact, her family had been naturalized manchu in the early Qing Dynasty.
After Noble Consult Jia died, Emperor Qianlong ordered people to go to North Korea to erect a monument for her
In the TV, Noble Consult Jia is a tribute girl from the Joseon Dynasty. Historically, since Goryeo Dynasty and Joseon Dynasty were affiliated states/subsidiary country of ancient China, many of tribute girls from the Korean Peninsula were sent to Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty emperors. For example, Empress Ki.
After watching a couple of clip.. why do I feel I should stan Jia. She was just keeping it real.
Everyone is keeping it real, its just that she underestimate the queen.
How many kids did Jia have??
4, and all of them are sons.
Selir Jia yg paling sering hamil dg selamat ( krn dia yg paling usil jahil thd selir lain, kalau bkn ulah nya sendiri : dia bisa hasut orang lain utk berbuat jahat)
Didn't matter though. I watched the drama, sadly just ¾ of the drama, that once the Queen got pregnant the Emperor ignored all his children and all consorts just to give attention to the Empress. I was like, 'he did not just do that' 🤣.
@@wickie-search empress child is the most important in the harem, it solidifies the crown prince position
