Ruyi's disappointment is so palpable here. That he would show up so late like his actions were in any way excusable. At first, he forced unnecessary space between them, but then that space become necessary for her to air out her frustration. The seed of suspicion that eventually grows into full blown jealousy for Guard Li is first planted here. Emperor left so much space here and now the thought of another man filling it will give rise to so much despair later on.
At 10:14 I think is when you can really see the Empress’s love transition to something else. At the end of the series and her last words with Rongpei, she tells her how she doesn’t love the Emperor anymore and I think it’s because of this exactly. She loved who he used to be not what he turned into. Someone constantly suspicious and spiteful and jealous. She says that the Emperor trusted the empty words of the astronomer guy than his own wife and that was the turning point for her I think to recognizing that their love was slowly dying or that it wasn’t what it used to be
Can you forgive a man who didn’t protect you from all the scheming harem? She went through so much pain and suffering which he could have stopped. He is THE emperor!
He made me so mad in this series about how ignorant he was to consort Ling manipulative ways, All because she catered to his ego and his shallow masculinity
I dont think she hated him, sometimes you just reach your limit. Just becuz theres no more love, doesnt mean she hated him, she just didn't love him, like that, any more. Too much pain. If you dont stop the pain, you will bleed out.
@@lindamccormick3631 i don't believed she doesn't resent him in anyway.. but yeah this time she no longer cares anymore... good for the emperor.. 😏 Doesn't love him and will no longer tolerate him
I think it never got to hate I think after he released Jia after thinking she killed Jingse she was hurt but after yongjing death it turned into disappointment but once the events with the Han woman/Ling Yungche came about she was completely disgusted this was no longer the man she loved but a cold monster
He actually loved her all his life, first love and all. However, the life of an emperor, with power and lust over a harem of beautiful scheming women, it jaded his love and appreciation of her, until her death. Then he realised, too late. That irony made it all so sad.
When the person you love becomes an empty, self-centeref, egotistical one, it is natural that love comes to a finish. In time you look back to those memories realizing you don't miss that person anymore, and that is great.
I don’t think she could dare to lose another child. So many children have died while She was there, it must be beyond heartbreaking. To have a child with the Emperor only lead to an early death for the child. 😕☹️🎇🎆💕 I have also read that She had TB and maybe She didn’t want to infect the Emperor, knowing she was sick but not exactly with what.
I relate, I thought maybe my first husband was my soul mate. I was wrong. I still wait hoping to find true love and happiness. Maybe I too wish to be free, truly free. 😔🥺🕊
You already are. You are one of the few who see their own worth and chose to leave a bad relationship. “With sadness but no regret” Is what echoed in my mind when I saw this series and when it happened to me, but I’m happy I chose to love myself so that I can find someone to love the same as they love me. Be happy with that. 🌸
Life in the palace. They want peace and project that it's peaceful, but it's full of corruption, jealousy, envy, sadness, and pain. All those women vying for the attention of one man, the various loyalties, etc. Almost no room for true love to survive, but there are some examples like Queen Dugu and her Emperor.
This reminded me of the King and I: Anna Leonowens : In your house she's just another woman. Like a bowl of rice is a bowl of rice no different from any other bowl of rice. King Mongkut of Siam : Now you understand about women! So, many English books talk about love et cetera, et cetera, et cetera! Ha! Anna Leonowens : You disapprove? King Mongkut of Siam : It is a silly complication of a general simplicity. A woman is designed for pleasing man that is all. A man is deigned to be pleased by many women Anna Leonowens : Then how do you explain, your majesty, that many men remain faithful to one wife? King Mongkut of Siam : They are sick. Anna Leonowens : Oh, but you do expect women to be faithful? King Mongkut of Siam : Naturally! Anna Leonowens : Well why naturally? King Mongkut of Siam : Because it is natural. It is like old Siamese saying. A girl is like a blossom, with honey for just one man. A man is like a honey bee and gather all he can. To fly from blossom to blossom a honey bee must be free. But blossom must not ever fly from bee to bee to bee. 🐝 🌸 🌺. 🥀
Most of the etiquette is still part of daily life in the upper class. Most actors and actresses learn different etiquette early in their careers to make them more appealing for different roles
@@ladylokiwifeodindottir7095 he/she is talking about the special etiquettes during that particular historical era. There is no way modern High society people would have same way of walking, talking and even hand gestures of ancient noble people. That's something actors would research and practice specifically for the drama.

I agree. Everyone wants to blame Emperor for everything and not take into account at all the way the women, with their jealousy and evilness, were the source of all these troubles and had a corrosive effect on Emperor too. How many times was his trust betrayed by them? if his mother, first empress, jai, hui had acted like decent human beings instead of scheming - ruyi and emperor would have been the happy couple they should have been.
He didn't turn his back he was arrogant and trusted those that pandered to his ego instead of Ruyi who was honest and always acted in his best interest even when he despised her for it, he didn't deserve her devotion.

That's obvious. It's just like learning any type of new hobby
They're taught how to do them, before the drama begins. You can find their practice videos on yt
