Thanks for the video, just completed my window installation with my son. I used a new set of rubber and it was an absolute pig to get the corners in properly. Followed your instructions but I think new rubber is stiffer and not as straightforward. I also have the S wing with adds a bit more fun.
Fantastic video. Wish I would have seen your video before installing mine. Note. I used a silicone spray and weed wacker line instead of string. Not sure what’s better. Plus. It’s far better to install the trim piece before the quarter window is installed. I wish I had done it. Cudos on the video
Thanks Marty....to remove glass one needs to remove the metal or plastic trims from outside first. Then push from the inside at the middle edge of the long side. Heating the rubber will help. Once you get it to move enough you can get the string between the rubber and body and work it out. Go slow and steady...I have broken one getting it out before.
Hey Dean, Great video, very informative and makes a lot of sense. Could you please explain how to remove the glass in the first place? My trims are not installed properly from PO so would like to have a go re-doing the job and putting them in, as you say, before installing on the car.Cheers Marty
If you are replacing the rubbers I would suggest just cutting them out. If you are reusing the rubbers then its iffy. Try to break the seal loose all the way around both inside and out. When its a lose as you can get it then push the glass edge out form inside. I always push mid way on the long edge. If its really stuck...I would cut it out. I HAVE broken one years ago....The glass is cheaper to buy sometimes then the rubbers.

Thanks Dean, this is great help. Do you perhaps have a video on how to remove the quarter window?

I see you put the trim on before installing on car, but what about the corners? It just seemed like magic that they show up after install.
Thanks Dean, very well done on this video.

I'm rambling too much. Will work on talking faster and less filler. I had no idea I talked so slow.

yeah, dont bother putting some padding under the glass. just rub it around on the wood.
