I’m 6’5 and I met Beasley going into the same doctors office when he was still in the league. I thought to myself “how the fuck is he this big and can move like that?” As a football player it made me respect basketball player’s athleticism even more.

Him shifting the conversation to team context is a deflection. And we have no reason to think he wouldn't protect his old friend and teammate. Seems like he's trying to be an honorable dude.
Plus it wasn't just a reporter who reported it. It was a teammate who reported/confirmed . So that's proof he's intentionally trying to deflect.
It means either:
1. We don't know if people saw
2. There's no footage
3. If people saw, and we know they saw, they explicitly or implicitly agreed to keep it hush.
