a new series idea could be "how to play against different tactical styles" like control possession, the gegen press or even park the bus. please consider 🙏
I'd love to see you in a longer video (perhaps a series) where you manage a team and walk us through the team building, signings, and specially the tactic and how you change it throughout the season.
thank you for the suggestion :) as we get through the holidays, my hope is to start a series just like that. picking a team, training, youth, all that good stuff
Love this. Going into the new season with a new formation , tactic, and roles. Mez with IW is just as good as with a Winger. Just played differently. Keep it up with the solid video, man 👍.
@chanalex9400 I set IW to stay wide, and my formation(433) width is all the way down to narrow. So the chances they would clash in the same space is low.
@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker also, sometime(50/50) , if the Mezzala has specific traits that have him running behind the defence (my has beat the offside trap and get into opposition area) , the IW who has the ball will cut inside into the space whenever the Mezz make run behind the defence. Mezz (A) IW(Supp)
thank you :) nothing imminent for streaming; but I do have an idea for a series of videos with a team. And I thought it'd be fun to stream certain games (maybe cup games, rivalry, etc...)
do you reckon you can play like the combination on both sides, or is that too much risk? like on the right flank mezzala on attack and winger on support, the left flank, mezzala on support and winger on attack?
it would be risky and it probably wouldn't be my first choice. I think the two Wingers would work for sure, but I'd probably use the Carrilero or BBM before I chose another Mezzala :) but who knows! it could be a good combo
I didn't know they work like this. I only know for sure since FM2021 Mez-IF (same side) work well. When IF cuts inside and get in behind the defenders, Mez will cover the flanks and cross when the opportunity arises.
If you read the role descriptions IF and Mezzala sounds better but after watching the video I tried Mezzala winger combo and it performs much better ingame. Especially the Mezzala shines for me
generally I use one on support and one on attack like you say for balance, but that's not to say they wouldn't work on the same duty. You would just want to make sure you've got defensive cover (if using attack) or other teammates attacking (if using them on support). hope that helps :)
Mezzalas and Wingers are such a natural fit in a 4-3-3. Just wondering what you think about a half-back in defensive midfield and then a deep lying playmaker next to the Mezzala, so you keep a presence in the midfield and can better connect between your defensive line and your midfield?
I think that could be a really effective midfield. The left side would need attention (whichever side the DLP is on) since you wouldn't have anyone getting forward on that side. The legendary IF/WB combo could be good.. or maybe Raumdeuter/FB too
I have a question for you. In my save with Tottenham I have gone 16 games unbeaten (including a 4-0 against Man City) but my striker is not having a good game. I play tiki taka with a high tempo, creative freedom and very high pressing. I play a 4-2-3-1 with these roles (from left to right): SK (Su), IFB, BPD, BPD, CWB (Su/At), VOL/DM (Su), DLP (Su), RMD/W (Su/At), EG, AP (At), AF. I don't know what role I can put on the striker, I've tried the poacher and the DLF, but nothing works. The best role for now is the AF because he drags the defenders with his runs and leaves spaces for the second line, but I would like him to also act in the game and score goals.
hmm... well it seems the tactic is going well, so the AF is most likely contributing in some way like you mention. Have you tried the Presing Forward on attack? Would fit in with your high press instructions and does similar things to the AF
@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker I just tried it, it works more or less the same, but it helps me a lot more when pressing. I've noticed that compared to the AF he's not as aggressive with his runs, so it helps a bit more in creating the play. For now I'll continue with the PF and try some other roles. Thanks for the help!!
What if i use dlp(s) on the cm instead of b2b and hb instead of dlp(d) on the dm was it good? So i have 2 support players on the midfield with iwb since b2b will roam a lot
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymakerthanks. I try it for couple games and it works just like what i want. The dlp stays in the midfield most of the time together with the iwb to link up the attack. I just love pairing iwb with 1 role in the midfield who doesn't get too forward. So i can make something like double pivot in the midfield with iwb while in possession
False 9 is a good substitute depending on your player (a Target Forward as well). Two mezzalas could work I think; I'd probably choose a Carrilero for the other role for the balance :D
I think potentially they can :) they could create an overload in the half space which is good for narrow formations. but they could also get in each other's way sometimes, especially the IW dribbling into space already occupied by the Mezzala. I would try it out for a few matches and see what you think :)
@@joaogabrielferreiracarvalh3523the if will cut inside even without the ball so yeah, they are more likely to get in each others way than iw/w. Good combo in some situations
I learn something new every day! And nope, Rode is an Australian company I believe (but maybe the founders are Danish?) They're pretty famous for their microphones
I would use those two if you're a strong team (top 8 in your league maybe) and won't lose much because of their defensive un-focus (if that's a word lol) But a Carrilero is an excellent substitute and pair with the Mezzala; sneaky creative too

Yes, yes and yes!
Good idea! I understand most of the positions (thanks in part to DLP), but I'd really like to hear him explain the styles.
Would love to see it!!
yea these are for sure great suggestions :) thank you

Will they congest in the half space?
Both the IW and Mez exploit the same space

i would be pleased if you add the Player Traits section at the end of the video
thank you for the suggestion :)
I'll see if I do something on player traits
This one is an easier coupling for italians given that mezzala means half-winger 😂😂😂 another great video, Teacher!
This is how i set up Raphinha & Gavi in my save, with great success too.
I've messed around with Barca a little bit and Raphinha excelled everywhere I tried him; really top player

If you read the role descriptions IF and Mezzala sounds better but after watching the video I tried Mezzala winger combo and it performs much better ingame. Especially the Mezzala shines for me
have you tried the mezzala and winger both on attack? will it work just fine or keeping it balance with 1 on support just better?

Is that a Fujimi Integra Type R in the back?
great eye!!! it is. There's a little USDM Phoenix Yellow Type R right in front of it too
Would Mezzala and Trequartista (as a centre forward) be complementary to each other or no?
I think they could work, yea! I wouldn't say they're direct complements like the Mezzala/Winger, but they could be effective for sure
I play something very similar to your 433, but use a raumdeuter instead of an inside forward and my deep lying forward on attack.

Mezzala + Winger + Inverted wingback = broken
they're awesome together
Did the mezzala role pair well with the advanced playmaker in 433 formation?
Ap a/s and mezzala a wont contribute much in defending so i think it is better to pair mezzala with some more supportive role (bbm, cm su or car)
