  • This great dispersed camping location has become a new favorite - it's conveniently close to Flagstaff as well as being surrounded by great day trip locations (Snowbowl, Lava Tubes, Powell Observatory and much more!)

We live in Flagstaff in the summer. Hwy 180 is the scenic rate to GC. You have to go to the museum next time. It is well regarded and renowned for its collections. Fantastic gift shop also. We live in Phx in the wither. Flagstaff is my happy place! Tranquilizer the dog. Puppy Prozac is harmless.

Thanks for this video! Camping for the first time and didn’t know what to expect or look for but with this video it will make it easier to choose a spot in FR222

Bud.. love your videos first off. You give the absolute best descriptions of getting in and out of all of these places. Your maps, routes, roadway conditions, your detail is impeccable. I am an Arizona native and have been camping at all of your visited locations since the early 80s.
You need to speak up. We can't hear you at times, usually when you do your first solo stroll through the campsite. Your insight is valuable, and we want to hear it. I would say get a mic but, that is a rude suggestion because it costs money. Maybe just speak up a bit. KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK FRIEND

Hey thanks for the feedback on the sound. I know, it's been an issue with some folks having a hard time hearing the sound. I keep trying new things too to see what works best. Appreciate it!

BTW, which parts of the video are hard to hear? it is the Dash cam video part, or when I'm walking around? just curious - I know the dash cam has issues (Date reset for one) and the sound pick up is terrible.

Thanks for this awesome video. I’m hearing conflicting info that the Fort Valley area is no longer allowing dispersed camping. Have you heard anything about this? Definitely considering checking this area out when I come back up in a couple weeks.

@@jeffdorman6667 no I haven’t heard anything about that, however they did close it down two years ago because of the fires and how dry it was out there etc. but that’s the only thing I’ve heard. If I hear anything else I will post information! Update - I just checked the Forest Service website and it shows FR#222 and Wing Mountain area as “Open” as of 7/6/24. Always a good idea to recheck that website before going out there especially this time of year!

I know, it's the camera - I reset the date, but the moment I unplug it the date is lost, no battery back up I guess. I've tried to remove it from the screen but it won't do that. lol! So, I just ignore it for now until I get a new one.

The only time it hard to hear you is when you are walking around. All of the other audio was actually very good, even out front during the cook it was crisp. I think those walk and talks should be a bit longer also ha
